    ๐—›๐—ผ๐˜„ ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด?: Physically - I think I've moved on from the constant nausea and on to just intermittent waves (although I'm been scared to say that out loudย  :D) I am also getting some of my energy back.ย  Hoping this is what the second trimester feels like...
    Emotionally - pretty good, very anxious at times since this is the longest I've gone without an appointment/scan.ย  It depends what time of day you ask me!

    ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€/๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€: Rave - I have a bunch of events this month (weddings/family dinners/work events) that are keeping me busy and a bit distracted until my next appointment and specialty scan.ย  It definitely is helping the time pass and my friends and family have been spreading the positive energy.ย  I am very thankful!

    Questions:ย Has anyone had an early anatomy scan in addition to the normal 20 week anatomy scan?ย  I'll be 16 weeks and its an extra precaution due to my IVF transfer and loss last year.ย  I have read and watched a ton of content about the 20 week scan (which looks so fascinating/fun), but I'm not so sure what to expect at the early one.

    GTKY:ย For those who celebrate Easter, got any fun plans? If not, what are you up to this weekend?

    I'll be going to my grandmother-in-law's house for lunch.ย  Besides her none of us are actually religious, but it's always nice to have a reason for a big family meal.ย  I have a wedding to attend the night before which will be by far the latest I've stayed awake in months so we'll see what my stamina is like!

Definitely been pretty decent energy-wise, and I've been able to run a little bit (wearing a panty liner) so I'm jazzed about that. Most of our family and friends know at this point. The main symptoms I'm having now are insomnia (my classic awake time is 2-5am-ish), RLP, still out of breath and all, major congestion. Gaining weight again too fast forย  mysterious reasons, so I guess I have to keep an eye on that *eye roll*

    ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€/๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€:ย 
    - I hate being self-conscious about my weight and feeling guilty about gaining during Dr's weigh-ins. I'm pretty slim in my normal state, and eat healthy and exercise quite a bit and generally have a pretty stable weight. It balloons in pregnancy though and I hate it when people assume I must be cramming large pizzas and cakes nonstop. It just happens and I don't know why. I lost it fairly quickly last time though.

    - My best friend is visiting next week, and she's bringing tons of Easter stuff for my daughter. I'm so pumped to see her and do fun things around town.

    We're not religious, but celebrate for the fun of it and general celebration of springtime. We're doing an egg hunt with my daughter and a basket, and I'll make a brunch and have my parents over. Should be nice weather and we can eat outside :)

    @jiliboo I think it's hardest right now because you likely aren't feeling the baby move yet-- but after the next appointments, you'll feel regular movements and be showing and growing. It helps to have that daily proof that there is indeed a moving baby in there. And most low-risk people only get the anatomy scan and dating scans, so you might not see baby at all during the second half of pregnancy! [Edit-- sorry, I see you were asking specifically about this time before you could feel movements!!] I guess for right now it's just more waiting and trusting in your body. Starting to show helps, and if you have a doppler you could try that, with the caveat that they can cause more stress if you have trouble finding the HB.

    @merostomata I retain a lot of water while pregnant. My weight gain is always super high but I know I'm eating well and exercising. It really sucks though. I typically gain 42 lbs each baby. I just try to tell myself that the baby will be 10 of that. Plus the weight of the placenta and all the extra blood and water weight. Doesn't really help but I tell myself that anyway.

I think maybe itโ€™s heartburn?? I have so much pressure in my stomach, which maybe is just being gassy, but not sure about that either. If anyone has felt this or has thoughts, please help! I feel like Iโ€™m going crazy and am ready for baby to be out already! But then get so disheartened thinking that this is just the beginning and I have 6 more months and am going to get MUCH bigger!

    GTKY: weโ€™re going to my in laws house on Sunday and will do our little gender reveal with them! Theyโ€™re so kind and loving, and Iโ€™m so happy my baby will have them close.

    I am almost 14w and similarly my constant nausea has been gone since 13w, but I crash HARD around dinner and then become SO bloated/gassy/uncomfortable.ย  I think it's because dinner is my biggest meal?ย  I do well with having small snacks throughout the day, but I like to have a decent dinner meal with my vitamins and just in general...to deal I just usually try to go to bed as soon as I can.ย  Not great advice, but I wanted to let you know you're not alone!

    ๐—›๐—ผ๐˜„ ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด?:ย  My Dr gave me sample meds for nausea and they were great went to pick up the Rx from the pharmacy and insurance won't cover it and I'm not paying $200 so the nausea is coming back (not as severe thank goodness). ๐Ÿ˜ณ Constipation has been horrible this week even with drinking lots of water and eating lots of fiber, I feel so bloated and full. When laying down I can see my uterus is definitely visible. Haven't felt any true movement I occasionally feel pressure that come and goes a few times in a row and then it stops.

    ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€/๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€:ย  My family is taking this all great my mom on the other hand is Debby downer and I shouldn't be doing this or that and when she asks how I'm feeling if I say anything about nausea or stomach bothering me she turns it into something must be wrong.

    Questions: I've gained about 8lbs so far ๐Ÿ˜ฑ but I seem to get out of breath so quickly already just doing simple tasks anyone feeling this? Is it because I am older this time around (46) and it's just to be expected?

    GTKY: All of the family is supposed to be coming over for Easter Dinner, I haven't decided if I'm color ordering something yet. I am planning on doing all the prep on Friday.

    ๐—›๐—ผ๐˜„ ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด?: So much less nausea and a slight increase in appetite finally! My cold is still hanging on a little bit but is so much more manageable. My midwife was also super reassuring today about my feelings of dissociation and said it's really common.

We have a really good Korean street food cart in our neighbourhood and I now finally have a regular safe snack go-to when I'm struggling with appetite otherwise.

    @krysnicole1022 & @EmilyE13 I think my main question right now is what will I feel comfortable wearing after the C-section with where the scar will be. My maternity clothes from my first two are mostly out of season, so Iโ€™m probably going to be picking up more and wanting some that will be comfortable after too.

    ๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€/๐—ฅ๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€: Shared the pregnancy news with a VP in my organization this week (my supervisor already knows), and she was so happy for me. It was a big relief to see her genuinely be excited about it rather than immediately jump to discussion of coverage during leave.

    Questions: PGAL moms, I was going to resurrect our check-ins but make them monthly. Does that sound good to you? I always feel like I lean pretty heavily on fellow PGAL ladies for some of the anxieties of pregnancy, so Iโ€™d like to keep that thread up if you all want it.ย 

    GTKY: ย We will be at my in-lawsโ€™ for Easter. Both girls and my husband will be driving, but Iโ€™m flying. When I booked the ticket, it was because I had a trial coming up and needed to be back, but the trial got rescheduled. My MIL asked my husband if that meant Iโ€™d be making the 9 hour drive with them instead. Um, nope. I will be thoroughly enjoying some solo flying (flying with a 4 and 2 year old like usual is a totally differently kind of experience!). I do have work on Monday I need to be in front of a computer for instead of on my phone in the middle of nowhere, so I still feel somewhat justified in keeping the flight!

    @jen_third22 it really depends on you. A lot of women like high waisted compression leggings. It keeps you feeling held together. I always do a belly binder but they itch so I'm looking into some good postpartum leggings. The sloshing around of your insides is super uncomfortable and weird. I personally prefer nothing touching me so I come to the hospital prepared with nightgowns and maxi dresses. They make all these great products now. They even have c section underwear that has a pocket for an ice pack.ย

    @jen_third22 the Mother Tucker high waisted compression leggings were wonderful in terms of keeping things feeling held in and supported. I do use a Velcro belly binder, too, for more support.ย

I know the whole โ€œraw fish during pregnancyโ€ thing, but Iโ€™ve done some research, trust the place we went to, and was really glad to have some amazing food.ย
