Blighted Ovum Experience?

Just wondering if anyone has past experience with this they'd be willing to share (symptoms, hcg, etc.). I had 6 days of bleeding ranging from spotting with wiping to a light flow (red) 2 days after my BFP, and a day of awful cramping. We thought it would be another chemical, but hcg continued to rise, increasing by more than double every 48 hours for over a week. Hcg levels have actually been the high end of normal (5w0d was 6544). Bleeding has since stopped. I had an early ultrasound due to history of mc and at 5w4d only the gestational sac and yolk sac were seen. I know this can be normal based on gestational age (and we are certain on that from using OPKs) but with how high my hcg should have been at this point (over 25,000) it sounds like fetal pole should have been seen. They are bringing me back in a week, but with the early bleeding, and what was seen based on hcg levels, they mentioned this as a possibility. I'm trying to stay off google, but would appreciate any input based on experience. Hard to keep expectations low while also being hopeful! Thank you!

There was one study done that compared HCG levels to fetal development on ultrasound, which I assume is why you’re thinking you should be seeing something by now. The reality is, HCG levels have huge amounts of variation and it’s just not anecdotally accurate that an HCG of 10k automatically means there’s a fetal pole.

I had an ultrasound at 5w4d in a previous pregnancy that showed only an empty sac (despite HCG being 21k) and one week later there was a fetal pole with a heartbeat. At this early stage it’s very normal to only see a yolk sac.
