November 2022 Moms

First time mom at 38, 39 when I give birth - general question :)

Has anyone else not experienced nausea and morning/all-day sickness? I'm 8 weeks along, still feeling really well. I'm waiting for the sick feeling the begin, especially in the First Trimester. I think I'm kind of the minority here?

P.S./ I know very little about pregnancy, learning as I go. :)

  • @ravenhairedgirlwithbump Hello! I’m a STM but, it’s been a LONG time since I’ve been pregnant (12ish years) and I’m 36 now. I’m 6 weeks along and still have no morning sickness and feeling pretty dang good overall. While, this definitely wasn’t the case with my first pregnancy, I can’t recall when I started feeling sick. I’ve done some general searching for myself and everything I’ve come up with has said, “It’s totally normal to feel totally normal” in early pregnancy! However, if you’re still concerned, I’d encourage you to reach out to your doctor and ask them. It’s always okay to do that to ease fears =) congrats on the pregnancy!
  • Thank you. Sometimes I think it's better to not know/worry, as long as I have a general idea about what's happening with my body and get the 'all clear' from my midwife. :)
  • You are in the minority, but it’s not unheard of. I know women who never had a day of morning sickness in any of their multiple pregnancies. Count yourself lucky!

Fwiw, Google says 20-30 percent of women don’t have morning sickness.
  • I am in same boat (first time mom. Turning 39 this month). I am 6w 4d and have not had any morning sickness. I realize it can come any day but counting myself lucky. I’m just cramping. But I think it might me gas. Dunno. Kinda nervous but then again I’m nervous when there are no symptoms.
  • @ravenhairedgirl83 Hi I am 37 and FTM, I am in my second trimester and had zero nausea or morning sickness. My prenatal did have ginger in it so In, not sure if that was helpful! I am glad I did not have morning sickness since I get in a very bad mood when I am starved
  • Hello.
I'm 39, first pregnancy (complete surprise) and currently 16 weeks today :)
I've had to morning sickness/nausea/ vomiting. I'm blessed
  • We have a nearly identical story. No sickness here either.

Congratulations and I wish the best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy!
