1st Trimester

Confused I need answers please

March 6th 2022 I found out I was pregnant at 7dpo, march 11th I miscarried. April 3rd I found out I was pregnant again at 9dpo. The line was getting stronger up until 12dpo which was yesterday then shortly after that I bled. but the blood is so light its not enough for a tampon, the blood only really shows when I go to use the bathroom but again the blood is so light. Today is 13dpo for me so I woke up expecting a flood, but again the blood is still light it hasnt gotten darker. I took a test and the line is still there. The only thing thats really confusing is that the line did not get darker or light it looks the same as yesterday its not a squinter, I can see it Im just confused as to what this blood is? I dont want to believe its implantation because quite frankly Im over it. Having a loss back to back within a month is enough for me to take a break. I just want to know what the heck is going on. Please

@aaliyahj589 I'm sorry for your loss.  However, PG tests are qualitative, not quantitative.  A line is a line.  The darkness 'level' of the line really does not mean much.  After a positive test, you should STOP testing.  Period. Hard stop.  If you are concerned about how your PG is progressing, you should call your doctor and ask for hcg beta quant tests.  If they're doubling every 48 hours, then your PG is progressing as it should be.

I'm also concerned that it sounds like you had a MC in March, it doesn't sound like it was HCG tracked down to 0, and then you got PG again.  Therefore, do you even have a definitive way to know that this isn't hcg left in your system from your last PG and not from a new one?  Sometimes it can take months for HCG to track down to 0 after a MC. This is why good doctors advise not to attempt PG after a MC until after your first AF.

As for 'breaking,' I know that it is hard.  Trust me, I'm an RPL sufferer who's had 5 MCs and no living children.  But you will get through it if it happens to be a second MC in a row.  In the future I definitely advise taking time off between cycles for mental reasons.  It also allows your body some time to heal.

October 2015 - 1st MC.  7-8 weeks along. Suspected molar PG, but luckily just a MMC.

    June 2016 - 2nd MC: 4-5 weeks CP

    September 2016 - 3rd MC: 4-5 weeks CP

RE 1: ALL the testing - 'unexplained'  "Yinz can do IVF or try on your own"

    Feb 2017 - 4th MC: 6 weeks

RE 2: More tests. Still 'unexplained.'  Called fat for an entire hour-long appointment, cried a lot

    Feb 2019 - 5th MC: 6-7 weeks

    IUD - March 2019-March 2023

RE 3:  Repeat all the tests. Hoping to try IVF.

Thank you for being honest! And I am also very sorry for your losses. My period is supposed to start tomorrow so Im just going to stop testing and let whatever happen, happen. I need time to heal mentally and physically ❤️
  • Update: today is 14dpo for me which is the day my actual period starts. I am still bleeding no cramps no backaches, just sore boobs but I had sore boobs for a week now. Took a test and the line actually got slightly darker. If it was a chemical wouldn't the line be gone after two days and not get darker? I began bleeding 12dpo. I know that women bleed in the first trimester and go on to have successful pregnancy. Very confused!
  • @aaliyahj589 The line will not be gone until your hcg level reaches a level BELOW what the qualitative testing amount in the test is.  This can take weeks/months following a MC.  Again, have you actually confirmed that this is a NEW PG and not existing HCG from your previous loss?  You really need to stop testing.  It's not really going to help you.  If anything, you should call your doctor and tell them that you DTD after your loss and before your first AF, and you are getting BFPs and need hcg beta quants to determine if the hcg level is doubling to indicate a positively progressing PG, or if they are lowering or staying around the same level, indicating MC hcg levels.

  • Lol no I dont believe that. Last month I tested until there was nothing there. I dont have any left over hcg idk why you keep saying that or think I do. And Im going to keep testing for however long I please. Who are you to tell me that. You are the reason why people dont like message boards. Youre not even being honest youre just being mean and negative at this point because you repeated yourself in the first comment. and you are the only one replying to me so Im sure you are commenting on other peoples posts being mean. You absolutely will not discourage me! Best of luck to you!!
  • These message boards are so negative and disgusting stop deflecting your anger and get some help. Logging off forever. Good luck to everyone ttc
  • @aaliyahj589 I'm not trying to be mean.  You legit never said that you'd tracked your HCG down to 0 before now.  If that's the case, then yes this is a new PG.  I know many loss women struggle with test anxiety.  But they're qualitative and not quantitative.  Honestly, I'd want to get the hcg beta quant numbers, because seeing them double is really the only way to know if this PG is progressing as it should or not.  Line darkness can vary from test to test, even within the same brand.  I'd definitely call your doctor about the blood tests.

Also, if you now are determined to have had 2 losses in a row (which really freaking sucks, and I'm sorry if that ends up being the case), and no successful PGs, you can qualify for RPL testing with an RE.  Which can be a crap-shoot for getting answers, but definitely something I'd look into!

  • it is absolutely still possible to be left over hcg from march. i am sitting here in hcg purgatory from march 14th - that number was 127, and i have had a beta every monday since - they go 82, 57, and 43. anything over 5 is clinically pregnant.
  • Slight bleeding could be implantation spotting too, I don't know if anyone has said that yet :) no matter what, good luck to you momma!

If you’re still here, I had a chemical pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage on march 4th this year. got another bfp on april 1st (my obgyn didn’t tell me you’re super fertile right after a miscarriage/birth/abortion). based on how you described the bleeding, it sounds like how my implantation bleeding was during my first pregnancy (back in 2019, ended up miscarrying because i had an IUD and had it taken out to try to have a normal pregnancy). to be safe, you could call your obgyn and have them track your hcg! good luck to you 💗 there’s people here on your side!
