we have a space heater in our room that is set at 70 degrees, but when I go in there in the middle of the night its alot colder then 70. I think it goes into sleep mode after a while. The house temp is set to 66 at night which I think is too cold for him since his hands and arms are usually cold when I get him up in the morning.

We keep the main thermostat in the house is kept between 69 and 75 degrees Farenheit, which keeps the baby's room about 2 degrees warmer than that (warmest room in the house).
Re: ideal room temp for baby's room?
Our pedi said 67 and said baby should wear a onesie, socks and a cotton footie pj. I skip the socks and put a blanket over his legs.
