Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
3/7 college-level (dual credit English) students didn’t even maintain their freaking topic sentences throughout body paragraphs. What? halfway through the year, you forgot how to write? Seriously?
My dog ate a stick the other day and keeps coughing. She was coughing all morning and so my husband took her to the vet... she didn't cough once. The vet said its probably kennel cough and to watch it. Then as soon as my husband got home with her she won't stop coughing. The vet has a funny way of temporarily healing this dog and they can never tell what is actually wrong with her. UGH
@pangolindrome I hate when students let you down. I gave the easiest test today as a grade boost before the quarter ends. 9 of the 12 questions came directly from their review from yesterday. My class that needed the grade boost most failed... And said while passing in the test, I'm going to need to do a retake on that, I didn't know any of the answers.... Well perhaps if you actually tried the review instead of just answering questions to say you did it and you can retest you might do better.... FYI I understand the concept of redos for the kids who put in the work and then don't do well. My other students are fully taking advantage of the school policy.
Fisher cats and coyotes keep coming into our yard at night so whenever I try to take our dog out I see them and it absolutely freaks me out. Usually a good yell and a flashlight to their eyes scared them away, but still…I want to take my dog out in peace at night and not see these guys so close!

@lucyg00cy oh gosh. We have coyotes everywhere and the sound of a pack of them is so creepy!
@mamamoomoo12 Doesn't that drive you crazy?! I feel like we are like that too, though. I feel like if I'm ever sick, I immediately feel fine when I get to the doctor. haha
My husband got me gift cards for a local salon/spa that I used to go to pre children so 5 years ago. I just went to schedule a hair cut for this weekend or next because I could just use that time right now, but I find out they're no longer open on the weekends so now I have to schedule for after work when I need to get dinner done, and kids to bed and I'm just exhausted and don't want to leave the house. Who spa doesn't have weekends???? I also have a waxing, mani and pedi gift certs to use..... Who wants to do that at night.
@pangolindrome I teach college first-years and I hear you! Paragraph structure in general has been an issue for a lot of them, more than in previous years and even for my strongest writers, so I’m hoping we can have some more time for reviewing in this last month or so. (Also the general studies council last year reduced the amount of writing classes required to one instead of two, which they so need!)
All the Easter candy displays look so pretty but anything sweet like that is giving me major heartburn right now … including the Girl Scouts cookies I just ordered! Not the worst thing in the world, but still.
I have had a major WTF day at work today. One patient who masturbated at me while I was trying to talk to him (no, dude, I DON'T believe that you have uncontrollable penile itching). One who believes everyone is trying to kill him who got very mad at me and asked the psychiatrist if he could be given a med that would help him stab me. And one who is very very psychotic and believes that nurses and telekinetically raping him.
Fun times.

@pangolindrome I am a prison psychologist. My full time position is mostly administrative and Supervisory, but on Sundays I work at a different prison in the inpatient unit for extra money.

Planned to put in my notice after lunch today...checked my email right before lunch, and the executive chef at one of our restaurants had emailed his notice to me and our boss. WTF do I do now?! She's gonna be in a terrible mood. I was going to talk to her in person this afternoon, but I also found out she isn't at work today, so now I'm not sure if I should do it over the phone or wait until tomorrow. UGH. I just want this over with.
@whitta1015 if we get these jobs and move this year, 3/4 of the people in our math department will be leaving this year. I feel bad for our colleague who will now have to deal with all of it.
@whitta1015 oof! I don't envy you. Do you think you'll get canned immediately or would that be an issue for you? @jhysmath the daycare I used to work at has about 20 employees at a time. One year they had to send out TWENTY-TWO W2's. All the ones who worked there at the time were handed theirs in person. I was one of the ones who quit and I felt so bad for the ones left.
@babywiik Not with my position, although I wouldn't mind it haha. But I actually emailed her very professionally and told her that I was hoping to see her in person today and didn't want to call because I knew she was busy...and proceeded to give my notice. And she emailed right back and was very nice stating that she has enjoyed working with me and wishes me the best and that we would get together in person tomorrow to go over the details. @jhysmath I know it, I feel terrible, but at the same time I'm so ready for a new start.
