1st Trimester

Cramping symptoms

I'm 4-5 weeks pregnant and besides fatigue and lidheadedness I have been having moderate cramping from time to time throughout the day for a week now. This is my first pregnancy, is the cramping normal?

Re: Cramping symptoms

  • I have been having cramping on and off too and I’m 5 weeks!

  • I have been having dull aches, I wouldn't full out cramping. I have had increased urination as well. Hoping it is just everything stretching and not something worse.
  • Came here looking for this topic! Cramping showed up week 5 sporadically and is more consistent in week 6. It doesn’t hurt like menstrual cramps but more like a tightness or pulling. Probably a cramp/gas combo lol
  • I experience this every once in a while and to keep myself from worrying about it (at least until my first OB appointment!) I’ve been telling myself it’s just baby getting really nice and attached to me. 😅 Dr. Google says it might also be the uterus starting to stretch out, but the first thought makes me smile. 😄
  • I am 6 weeks and I’ve been having period like cramping. I expressed my concern to my OB and they assured me that it can be “normal” for some, especially if you are pregnant for the first time.
I have friends who have also experienced cramping and said that it’s your uterus making room to continue growing your baby ❤️
  • I'm at 6 weeks right now. I have the same cramps. Basically daily, I did read several articles that say for the most part it is normal because of all the changes and growing your uterus is doing and increased blood flow. Unless it's stabbing pain and accompanied by blood you should be OK but definitely ask your OB if it makes you feel reassured.
  • Cramping is very common. Some of the main causes are from stretching and growing or the unfortunate symptom of prenatals...constipation.
