Can you believe it’s April?! Nope, this is March 2.0.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: June 19 29 w 1d
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: just had 28 week appointment on Friday and got my trap shot, next appointment is in two weeks and it’s virtual thank goodness.
How are you feeling?: grumpy, round, emotional, tired.
Rants/Raves: hospital updated their visitors policy so now my son will be able to come meet his baby sister while we are still in the hospital. I was dreading him not being able to see her until we got home in case for some reason I have to stay longer than the 24 hours.
Questions: anyone else just not ready to give birth? I don’t want to be pregnant anymore but I think I don’t want to give birth even more.
Can you believe it’s April?! No! This year is going too fast.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 31w5d
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Upcoming Appointments or Results just had appt thursday another one in two weeks and then is start going every week.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good.
Rants/Raves: At last appointment baby was still breach and they were worried because of his head is under my ribs and i was having some rib bruising due to it. I was cleared to start exercises to flip him around at 30 weeks and he flipped friday night! hoping to keep him down. Also had a 3d ultrasound and the pictures are so sweet.
@marionberry19 I"m jealous. Ours still only allows one visitor. Really i'm not upset about that just would love for my daughter to be able to come but they only allow one visitor a day and it has to be 18 or older.
@marionberry19 Same. I am dreading it because since I became a SAHM, I have never been away from my DD except when I go to my doctor appointments. And now, I don't know whether it will be a VBAC or C-Section. At least with a VBAC, it is a 24 hours stay if everything is okay, but a 48 hr stay for c-section. I do not want to stay longer than 24 hours.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: passed the glucose test!! Found out I’m a little anemic so crushing Cheerios, spinach, and citrus.
How are you feeling?: finally starting to feel human again after a month of being sick and getting iron levels back up.
Rants/Raves:
Questions: Nope
@marionberry19 I’m feeling the same way! I’m more terrified to have this baby than any of the others. Both the birthing process and stress of bringing her home to the craziness.
@ournextadventure that’s amazing you got him to move! The Dr hasn’t said anything to me so I’m hoping that means baby is head down.
I haven’t checked our hospital’s current policy yet but I’m really hoping for no visitors. I might lie and tell everyone they’re not allowed even if they are. I was upset when DD3 was born at the beginning of Covid bc of the restrictions but once we were in the hospital it was really nice just being the three of us and not being bothered “hosting” while trying to get settled in.
How are you feeling?: Generally ok. I’ve made it through two weeks of work outs without abdominal pain which is a huge win, though yesterday I had some new weird pulsing pain on my left side. Seems to have gone away today.
Rants/Raves: I survived the girls weekend! I went in a pool, stayed up til 12 at a casino, and slept through the night in a queen size bed with someone. Overall I’d call it a success! Very much ready for a break from visitors and plans on weekends, but doesn’t look like that’ll happen anytime soon.
DH has started actively trying to bond with the kid, which is both endearing and strange. We’re not a touchy feely couple so I need to get used to this unusual dynamic.
Questions: Anyone have good literature on fetal movements? I’m endlessly intrigued by the different types of movements, what they mean (if anything), and what’s happening. Most things I Google just come up with things like how to do kick counts or general explanations that don’t go beyond “normal development” at this stage. This kid is so squirmy though and I’m just very curious what exactly is happening.
@marionberry19 That’s nice your next appt is virtual. I’m surprised more of these aren’t given how brief they are. I am ready to give birth but possibly only because I have no concept for what it means. L&D and newborn life are this black box that I’m ready to just rip the bandaid off of. Though I recognize 28 weeks is way too early.
@ournextadventure That’s great you got him to flip! Rib bruising sounds miserable.
@KFrob Congrats on passing the glucose test! That sucks about the anemia though. Hopefully spinach and whatnot take care of it.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: next week, normal OB appointment
How are you feeling?: ugh I was so dizzy this morning I left work. I was late in because I didn’t feel safe to drive (still probably wasn’t safe to drive when I did). My temperature was 96.1, I’m clammy, and have tingling in my hands and itchiness in my feet aka my blood pressure is dropping out. Just going to take it easy today and hope that it gets better soon. I’m so tired. But I’m afraid to sleep because the dizziness was waking me up. Ugh.
Also I think my anxiety is ramping up a bit. So that’s fun. This baby is huge and transverse and that combo makes me nervous. Like I want lungs to develop and for it to cook as long as possible but I also don’t want it to turn in case there’s something weird going on with the cord.
Rants/Raves: rant — why are all the pregnancy pants tight?! My legs and various regions need to breathe.
*tiptoes back in* --- Hi everyone! So sorry for my hiatus. We had covid at the end of February and 2 rounds of tummy bugs back to back thereafter, so between the preschool quarantines, covid sickness, work craziness with Russia, doctor's appointments, 2 tummy bugs and deeply sanitizing everything what feels like constantly, I didn't have much time to log in but glad to hear everyone seems to be doing mostly ok!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: June 10 / 30w3d
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Passed the GD 3 hour test a few weeks ago (super fun!) so even though baby was suddenly measuring bigger, the doctor's fears have hopefully been quelled.
How are you feeling?: VERY pregnant! I've been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome so 3 of my fingers on my dominant hand are tingly/numb, but beyond that I can't complain. No pregnancy induced hypertension this time around yet fortunately, so a relatively unexciting pregnancy compared to my last one which is a welcome change.
@fluteling Agreed. I don't need to draw any extra attention to my weight gain. I was looking for some maternity pants but keep coming across maternity skinny jeans and maternity leggings.
Can you believe it’s April?! ~ it's blowing my mind!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 30 weeks today (june 13)
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Had US last week and my placenta previa has resolved so I'm thrilled that at this point I don't have to schedule an early C-section!
How are you feeling?: Really good. Sore hips/back in the mornings and tired in the afternoon, but compared to a lot of the rest of this pregnancy, I feel like I have energy. I do feel HUGE lol. Can't believe there's still 10 more weeks - WTH?!?!?
Rants/Raves: Raves - i'm obsessed with feeling this baby move, even though sometimes it hurts or makes me feel sick, but it's so totally surreal and bizarre and amazing. We are having a co-ed baby shower this weekend and I'm really excited. My friends are throwing it and some family is coming in from out of town. I'm so thrilled at getting to celebrate this sweet baby with our closest people.
Questions: Is it strange they never have taken a urine sample since confirmation of my pregnancy at 8 weeks?
Also, I find myself worried about the cord wrapping around my baby ALL THE TIME. This must be really rare, right, but it seems like it could happen so easily (and there was a horrible experience in my extended family a few years ago so I'm worried). Any words of wisdom?
@ournextadventure I'm glad your baby turned. How did you know he did it Friday night? Could you feel it?
@marionberry19 I completely agree about not wanting to be pregnant anymore but not being ready to give birth!
@pinkkillersheep Congrats on surviving (and even enjoying?) the girls weekend - being in a pool actually sounds really lovely! I also am sooo curious about baby movements. I know people always talk about "kicks and jabs" but I feel so many rolling motions and also like what must be tiny hands just feeling around the inside of my uterus, so strange! And I finally felt my first round of hiccups I think, she's head down so they was just a rhythmic pulsing down low. It's wild!
@KFrob glad you're feeling better! You had a tough ride there for a bit...
@romeoandjuliet146 and @fluteling check out Old Navy. I have a pair of loose fit “mom” jeans that are heaven. I also have a pair of loose chinos and wide leg linen pants.
@shoarmie99 that is a little odd from my experiences! Both OBGYNs I've seen when pregnant have required a urine sample every visit. It's actually how I found out I had a UTI recently!
@marionberry19 how nice that your hospital updated policy! My doctors have told me not to worry about it because the hospital has changed their policies so frequently, but I too am worried about missing my 3 year old for too long given I'm scheduled for a c section.
@fluteling That sounds terrible, I hope today is better for you. It’s crazy to me how these blood pressure fluctuations can be so dramatic and difficult yet considered “normal”. Take it easy over there! I have no advice on pants. The bootcut jeans I got from Seraphine have been decent, though the elastic portion is too loose at the top so I have to keep it folded down. But since this kid is sitting so low it’s really pushing on the waistband.
@idreamofginny Welcome back! Glad things are going relatively ok for you. Here’s hoping it stays that way!
@shoarmie99 That’s great news about your placenta! (One of many phrases I never imagined myself saying…) Fetal movements are just so strange and interesting. I too have been struck by how all I hear about are kicks and that is the least amount of movements I’m feeling in comparison to everything else. As for your cord fears, I understand and share them based on close personal experience. I have tried not to think too much about it since I have no control over it. I finally Googled it the other day and didn’t come up with much useful information. I may ask about it at my next appointment. To answer your other question, my ob has me pee in a cup each visit so I do find that strange. Couldn’t hurt to ask.
@shoarmie99 was your placenta previa a full or partial. Also, my OB doesn’t take urine samples either. Not since my pregnancy confirmation and then at the prenatal lab work to test for STDs and what not.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: June 9/ 30 weeks 6 days
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Had appointment today. Next appointment later this month and includes 3 hour glucose test. I failed the one hour by 3 points.
How are you feeling?: Acid reflux and tired.
Rants/Raves: Have a scheduled c-section but don't want one. My doctor said I need to go into labor on my own, to reduce risk of rupturing c-section scar.
@marionberry19 I believe at 20 weeks my placenta previa was full although I can't find full or partial written down anywhere in my portal. I have an anterior placenta and a posterior placenta lobe and they're connected so they were both lying over the cervix ten weeks ago and now both have moved up very high in my uterus! Were you told you have placenta previa?
@romeoandjuliet146 sorry that they have a C-section scheduled for you. Are they going to at least give you a chance to go into labor naturally and try for a VBAC?
@mamaheidy2 I’m also feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. I feel like I should have done more when I had the second trimester energy.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: I had an OB appointment yesterday for regular check up and will have another in two weeks. I was given a kick count card to start recording baby’s kicks! So I’m excited to count my little squirmy guy’s movement. Best time will probably be right before I go to sleep and after I read him a story (I’ve been reading to him in English and Spanish since week 14 😅). He’s quite the active one, but sleeps through the night!
How are you feeling?: Overall great in terms of energy and health. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed though because I’m moving to a new city in two days and I’ll barely be preparing the nursery and getting things ready.
Rants/Raves: Rant and rave in one: I got an email notification from my HR informing me that I need to take vacation or I’ll lose it because I’m about to max out. I wanted to save all my accruals for after the baby is born, but I guess I’m being forced to take a few days off. I guess it won’t do me any harm, but that only means my workload will continue to pile up.
Question: has anyone switched doctors halfway/at any point during pregnancy?
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Had an appointment today. Alls well. Scheduled a potential induction for 39w 1d.
How are you feeling?: Most days- awful. Round, hard stomach. Huge. Nauseous at night. Back and hip pain. Super full all the time.
Rants/Raves: Work is super busy the next few weeks so I'm excited for time to fly by. I hate pregnancy but the busy nature of the last few months is helping time go by quickly at least.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: OB and MFM every other week or so.
How are you feeling?: Tired. Sleeping is uncomfortable. Heartburn is constant; I'm eating a lot of plain yogurt, porridge, and ice cream. Honestly the whole digestive tract is becoming a problem.
Rants/Raves: Our kitchen renovation is starting in earnest. I think this week we'll be chopping into the bulkhead to run new electrical. It's going to be loud and frustrating and expensive and definitely not done in 10 weeks.
I just want to go through Kid 1's clothes and work on Kid 2's nursery today. My sister is having a Sprinkle for her upcoming daughter next week and I'm giving her a big bin of Kid 1's cute girl clothes.
My husband's having an existential crisis because he has no time for hobbies. I feel bad for him but kind of want to welcome him to the club. I haven't had a hobby since I turned 30.
