1st Trimester

Insomnia help

Hello,

Does anyone have advice on dealing with insomnia during the first trimester? We are 5 weeks, and ever since I got that positive test I cannot sleep through the night, I’m talking 5 hours tops.

I’ve never had trouble sleeping, so this is really frustrating me as I know it’s not healthy for me or the baby. SOS.

    Unfortunately it’s normal. I haven’t slept well since I was in first trimester and I’m in 3rd now. You can talk to your OB in terms of options (not sure if they’re different 1st tri vs later) but mine told me I can try tylonel PM, Benadryl, melatonin, or unisom. 

    ETA during first trimester it could be anxiety too with all the unknowns. I know right after I tested positive I had a lot of trouble sleeping too. Hope it passes for you.
