12 week ultrasound pains

Hi everyone,

Monday I went in for an ultrasound and the baby moved around fine, but the wand on my belly gave off a static/electric shock… and I’m so worried about it.

I’ve called the OB.

I didn’t mention it to the technician at the time because … I don’t know, why I didn’t say anything. But now I’m worried something has happened to the baby or the baby’s brain.

The OB hasn’t gotten back to me but I’d love to hear if anyone else has ever had an ultrasound wand give off any sort of painful shock?

Thank you for anyone who replies!

  • Like..the kind of shock you get in the winter when you touch something metal?
  • Loading the player...
  • Kinda but it was longer than just a moment… like ask long as the wand had contact I had that feeling.

I have a scan again tomorrow to check if the baby is ok….

I Why didn't you just ask the tech if it was bothering you?  I'm sure baby is just fine.  I've felt what you are describing before and it could be that the want was just held on one place just a bit too long.  That's what a tech told me when I had that described feeling.
