I changed about half of my skin care prosucts because they weren't pregnancy safe. I picked stuff I will keep using after pregnancy, cuz turns out all those chemicals damage your skin and make you age faster. I also had to change things up because my skin changed like crazy when I got pregnant. I went from super oily to super dry. I've been using CeraVe for face and body moisturizer. Small amounts on my face and then globs on my body. I've been battling intensely dry skin. I have super sensitive skin and everything makes me break out but the CeraVe has not caused any breakouts. My skin also got a lot more sensitive to the sun. So I've been using spf 50 Aveno Pure Mineral sunblock on days I'm outside a lot. I googled a lot before I selected products that fit what I was looking for. Check out motherly.com and honest.com, as well as healthline.com/health/pregnancy/pregnancy-safe-skin-care. I was actually surprised to find about half of what I was using was already pregnancy safe!
I dropped some of the chemical peels and kept the safer products like nocinamide and hyaluronic acid. I use a very mild non foaming cleanser for daily use. And cetraben cream on the face during day time. 50spf sunblock is a must when going out.
I dropped anything with a retinol. I had a retinol serum, a mineral (?) serum with retinol in the ingredients, and a face oil with retinol that are now in a drawer (I guess I should give them away...?) Nothing has changed otherwise, except I added a Vitamin C serum for my evening routine. I'm thinking of investing in more Vitamin C since I have an old Bliss gift card, and their spa in Boston closed.
