Product Spotlight: Strollers

This is a place for everyone to share their experiences/research about strollers!

Feel free to revive this thread as needed!

Re: Product Spotlight: Strollers

  • We have the Graco Breaze and liked it so much that we bought a second to keep one in both cars. It’s umbrella-type but tall enough that you aren’t hunching over to use it. DD is almost 4.5 and it has worked for anything we have needed it for, including Disney trips. We are never on extremely rugged terrain, which it probably wouldn’t go great on, but it’s been fine on simple trails at our local park. It has different levels of recline including completely flat.

The other nice thing is that it’s compatible with any Graco click connect infant seat! The only downside is that you don’t have great access to the basket underneath when the car seat is clicked in/the seat is reclined the whole way back.

  • Now for my question for the moms who already have 2 - recommendations for strollers with a rider board?? DD is 4.5 and still wants to ride in the stroller a lot. I don’t think we need a full double stroller because we really should start working on having her walk more, but I want an option for when I don’t want to deal with whining! Also if I take both kids out by myself I’m sure my anxiety will appreciate having them both contained.
  • We have the City Mini GT2 by Baby Jogger, which we fully chose simply because it light and collapsible enough to carry up to our 3rd floor apartment when we had DS, while also having decent enough wheels to withstand the salt and some snow. It does turn into a double so we'll be getting a new one (DS will be 2y5m when baby is born) and I'm leaning to getting the double version from the same company because it's compatible with the infant carseat we already have.
  • I love my city mini gt double. I bought it six years ago and it's been a smooth ride ever since. My youngest two are currently just about 4 and almost 6 so they aren't going to fit in there anymore. They are almost at the weight limit per seat anyway. We jokingly call them "the twins" because they are a year and a half apart but my son is nearly as tall as his 5 year old sister and he weighs more. She's not small either. She's 99th percentile for height. He's just solid. Haha. I am going to sell my double and maybe get a single city mini and a single jogger. I have a jogger but they don't make it anymore.
I've had friends get the big baby jogger that you can attach the rider board onto. That's a good investment if you are going to keep having kids but honestly it's pretty expensive and it's crazy heavy. That being said it's an all weather stroller and can make it even in the worst bumpy city sidewalks.
  • I feel completely overwhelmed by stroller options and it seems like there's nowhere that I can actually test out the ones I'm thinking about. Husband and I are both tall, and chances are baby will be too, so I really just want to get a feel for sizes and ease of use. We went to buy buy baby over the weekend and there were almost no floor models for half of the stock. Thankfully my friend offered to go do some test drives at stores local to her, but it feels crazy to buy something I've never tried--especially when they're so expensive!
  • @fichey my husband is 6 foot 5. He struggled with the joovy brand. It was not tall friendly. The baby jogger was a breeze for him. The handle is adjustable up and down which was nice for big sister to push the babies around.
  • We use the Bravo Quick-fold stroller that came with our travel system. It’s great and I really don’t have any complaints. When we have another, though, we’re thinking of going with a wagon over a double stroller. There’s some that you can click in an infant car seat, so that’s tempting
  • We had the Uppababy Vista with both kids and used the kick board for DD1. I love the stroller and would love to use it again but it’s over 8 years old so it’s not compatible with the newer car seats. We’re debating on if we want to get a newer model Vista or something else entirely since we need a new car seat as well.

  • If anyone is in need of a good jogging stroller I highly suggest the BOB revolution! It works with a Britax car seat from birth and babies 2+ months without the car seat. It is a bit heavy for lugging in and out of the car for say, a trip to Target, but it’s phenomenal for anything outdoors, as well as day trips to museums, aquariums, etc. I still use it for my 3 year old all the time so I guess I’ll be investing in the double as well.
  • I’m with @shortstack930 and love love my Uppababy Vista.

@bows22 my kids’ favorite thing to ride in together for walks these days is our wagon. We got one of the ones with canvas zip up sides, wagon handle on one end with stroller handle on other, and optional harnesses, and we use it all the time. They’re super popular in our neighborhood, too.

  • So I think I’ve narrowed it down to these 2, anyone have any experience with either? We have a graco infant seat but I believe the joovy has a universal adaptor, if anyone can confirm or deny that.

  • Anyone have recommendations for strollers for petite women? I’m 4’11” so something short and light is ideal.
  • I have a single Joovy. It's a serviceable stroller but it's not super smooth. My husband wouldn't even use it.
  • @krysnicole1022 oh good to know! I’m leaning towards the graco but had it in my head that the joovy was going to be so much higher quality.
  • Mine is pretty old so it's possible they got better!
  • I always suggest, if you’re planning on having more kids, especially without a big age gap, to go for a stroller that can transition to a double. We got the City Select Lux when I had my 2nd in 2018. We’re looking at getting a Bugaboo Donkey, because I like the side by side option, and being able to have new baby in a bassinet that’s closer to me. We also have a Wonderfold Stroller Wagon that works so well for my 3 (we have the 4-seater), comfortably fitting a 5.5yo, 4yo, and 2yo with plenty of storage space to spare. It’s huge and heavy, but I love it for the zoo or beach.
