What are you thankful for this week?
I’ll start: Savannah has a huge St. Patrick’s Day celebration and instead of fighting the employee call outs and student absences, the school system has built the day (and Friday) into the holiday schedule. So, I’m on a 4 day weekend!

First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
I’ve been able to sleep more during my prep because I can eat with students in the room again.
My physician told me not to worry since I have my booster shot. It’s felt good. I honestly don’t know how I would’ve made it through with mask on this week.
Also… I am on spring break. I can’t believe I’ve made it.
I just looked it up and it says 77% fully vaccinated for our town which actually surprises me because we have a lot of Murica here too, when our school board said we would be going back mask optional I had a lot of fear especially because my 3 year old is in the preschool here working with the high school students. Our school nurse is great about testing students and has rapids, pcr nose swaps and spit cups. We had a small break out in the 6th grade right before 12 and under could be vaccinated. That put a strain on our school because one of the 6th graders moms runs a daycare that every math teacher here sends their kid too and well...they had to close and our kids had to be quarantined due to exposure. We have not had a outbreak at the high school level yet, but seeing our vaccination rate as a town I'm going to assume more students are vaccinated than I expected.
Also, that is really great to hear. I wish we had those numbers. I actually believe the high schoolers may have a higher vaccination percentage than the rest of the zip code, but that could be wishful thinking on my part.
I teach high school math. My husband teaches middle school math in the same building.
Great news!!!
