Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a furby - which is only a little creepy
Upcoming appointments: next week for 4 week OB check
How are you feeling?: i really hate day light saving time. so tired today and my brain feels off. otherwise doing okay-ish. This Friday was my due date for our MMC so just processing all those feelings this week. pretty sure hubby doesn't even realize it's coming up and it's been hard for me to talk about.
Rants/Raves: I think spring is finally here! yay!
Questions: Anyone else getting sucked into sales on baby things and buying entirely too many things for a baby that isn't even here yet? maybe it's because of our last loss and how long i've wanted to add to our family, maybe because i know it's our last one, maybe it's because i actually know more brands and things that I like now that i didn't before, but i definitely need to stop looking at the internet!
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? I'm a Chicago girl, so i love me a good pizza, but I also like certain pies. I'm very sad that most Baker's Squares closed down because i loved their french silk pecan pie. I"m not a big fan of fruit pies unless i make them because of the weird goopy texture
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: the length of a toothbrush which is funny because I went to the dentist today.
Upcoming appointments: 4/4 for next OB check up and 4/5 for next growth scan with specialist.
How are you feeling?: Physically fine, mentally all over the place. DST always makes me feel better because it’s light out later, but I’m still worried about my LO’s head size, even though the doctor said there’s no markers of microcephaly and all structures and anatomy look normal. Waiting for the next scan is so hard! I’m also looking forward to St. Pat’s this week and celebrating DD’s birthday at the beginning of April.
Rants/Raves: Sorry I’ve been so MIA, I work in the events industry and business exploded once the mask mandate was lifted in my city a couple weeks ago, on top of an already busy spring coming up. That in of itself is both a rant and a rave lol. Looking forward to to the warm weather we’re having this week and getting outside this weekend with DD.
Questions: I asked this already in the question thread, but anyone have experience with baby’s head measuring small (under 5%) at your anatomy scan?
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? That’s tough, I guess I’ll say savory because I don’t get them that often (pizza doesn’t count) I’m talking chicken pot pie, beef pie, fish pie etc., I love British style comfort food. I made a frozen avocado coconut lime pie for dessert tonight for Pi Day/St. Patrick’s Day! 😋
@runnergirl2018 I just passed what would have been 2 years for my MMC. I found solace in being 21 weeks now. I like to think she came back to me. ❤️ Also, I haven't had a good Chicago-style in years! I've been craving pizza for a week... Maybe I should see if I can find a good Chicago pie in Dallas. 😁

How are you feeling?: Struggling with remembering to eat. Where did my appetite go?!
Rants/Raves: Rant: I want to feel kicks more often. I'm sure I'll regret that desire as time goes on. 😆
Also, tired of allergies. They were never this bad pre-pregnancy. 🤧
Questions: none
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? Sweet! I'm from Texas, so pecan pie is my favorite. 😁
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A couple of dryer sheet boxes
Upcoming appointments: I have my last 4 week appointment when I hit 24 weeks in early April and then they bump me up to every 2 weeks, yikes! Also, at my AS with the MFM, they couldn't grab all the images that they need and said I needed to come back. I called last Friday and they never put the order in for me...what? So the receptionist said she'd page the doctor (who was there that day) to write up the order, never heard back. Called Monday afternoon and they still had nothing in there for me and acted confused on what I "wanted". Girl, I don't WANT to drive 45 mins for someone to cram a wand into me for 10 mins but I also would like so peace of mind and finish the AS, thanks. Like damn why is this so challenging. Woah, I have some feelings about that apparently.
How are you feeling?: Physically, okay. I really only feel huge towards the end of the day so I try to get done what I need to in the mornings. Lots of itchiness lately. Mentally, I am struggling again.
Rants/Raves: Rant: I have been struggling mentally again and I am frustrated with that. Rave: it is going to be 60 degrees and sunny on St. Patrick's day here! It is also our dog's birthday that day so we may get to GRILL her some steak haha.
Questions: NBR - what would you do? We had a flooring guy come in to put in new floors when we moved into our house late October of 2020. I ripped up all the carpets, he put the floors in. He completed like 90% of the job - he went to order flooring, transition strips, and stair treads and the shipment got delayed. He said that Home Depot never called him to say the shipment was in so they returned it. Then the flooring was out of stock and now discontinued. Our upstairs hallway, stairs, and all transition strips are not finished (sub floor is what we have been living with). I contacted him 3 or 4 times between December 2020 and April 2021 asking him to send me an invoice for what he had completed or AT LEAST his address so we can mail him a check for whatever amount of $ we had earmarked for this. We heard nothing or "I'll send it to you later". He messaged me around October of 2021 saying okay time to pay. At that point we had to use the money for an emergency. I asked if he would be open to a payment plan and he never messaged me back. He reached out for the first time since then yesterday and asked if we were ready to pay, not acknowledging the payment plan question. Everyone is telling me not to pay this guy because he didn't finish the job and because he was so "out of communication" but I feel bad and don't want to stiff him. What would you do?
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? I guess I am not a pie person haha! I love pizza and a good apple pie! I don't like other sweet pies and I really can do without like chicken pot pie haha.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Cantaloupe
Upcoming appointments: Ultrasound and GD test on Thursday
How are you feeling?: Good!
Rants/Raves: Our little babymoon this past weekend was great! It was really nice to spend time just the two of us and get some much needed R&R.
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? Sweet for sure! My favorite pie is an amish shoo-fly pie from Lancaster, PA
@runnergirl2018 - I haven't bought one thing for this baby yet I did start a list of the few things I'll need though, so that's a start!
@creativesoul63 - I'm so excited for the warmer weather this week! We plan on taking DD to the playground after daycare a few days this week!
@velvetblue88 - Jealous of your loss of appetite lol I'm still over here eating everything in sight!
@jellie603 - Ohhh that's a hard one (and so frustrating)! Do you have a signed contract with him? If you have a contract I think you have to pay him for the work completed, but I would argue for a discount off of that because the job was left incomplete.
@feather_heather no signed contract - just a local business guy. I want to pay him but I can't outright anymore at this point. If he doesn't accept a payment plan, I'm not sure what to do about it. It is so frustrating that now he is like "oh yeah I'll come back and finish the project". Like cool, it is a year and a half later and my flooring no longer exists so....
@jellie603 Well that sucks. As an independent contractor myself, I feel like he isn't worried about getting paid which is REALLY weird. Because like damn, we want our money. Without a contract, I'm not sure what to do. If it said he only got paid when it was done, then he never finished it and he doesn't get paid. I wouldn't feel right not paying him at all either, but he obviously doesn't care much about getting paid or about finishing the job.

How are you feeling?: We hads some sort of evil little virus go through us all. It basically restarted my morning sickness and now I'm super nauseous and feel like crap at night. It's getting better though so FX it does not keep going like this. Otherwise, I'm actually feeling pretty good.
Rants/Raves: I've been able to work a lot recently, and thanks to my husband's OT and my extra work we are set to have the money saved so I can not work June to November by the end of the month!!! I feel so much better knowing that barring anything crazy, I will be able to just relax this time.
Questions:
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? Sweet. I am a sucker for an apple pie. Also love other fruit pies, but I don't much go for the weird ones. I like pizza but I don't really eat any other savory pies.

How are you feeling?: we've been slacking on getting a weekly bump progression photo but found the time to take some on Sunday for week 22. I thought those early bump weeks would be hard because those are the times when you're like is it a bump? blump? just me gaining weight? But I never minded it because seeing that I was getting larger helped tell me that he was growing. And also I used to stick my gut out back during our years of TTC just dreaming of the day we'd finally be expecting so I already was already used to what a small bump would look like. All's that to say I was freaking out looking at Sunday's photos because I am much rounder and very much looking pregnant and I think it's breaking my brain. And don't get me wrong, I'm so happy to be where I'm at. I just did not expect to have these weird feelings seeing myself as I am. I look down at my belly and at myself in the mirror or at my own selfies and I like what I see, but for some reason when I look at the photos DH took I'm just... idk shocked?? Maybe it's due to the fact that he shoved my shirt into my underboob crease to get the full size of my bump. Could also be because most of what I'm wearing these days is on the looser/bigger side (yay winter clothes!) so it has never looked as pronounced as it did? But I don't think that when I see myself naked?? Lots of weird emotions going on.
Rants/Raves: Rant and rave - yay for finally having our bonuses come through but boo for the amount we lose due to taxes. I planned on using the money to cut down on what's left of some medical bills that we've been working on paying off for nearly 3 years (thanks IVF costs! *eye roll*).
Questions: Has anyone carried both high and low in their pregnancies? I'm wondering if it's beneficial as someone carrying low ( at least I'm pretty sure I am) to eventually have a support band on hand. Do people find you have more back pain when you carry low compared to high?
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? mmmmm I'm all about the sweet pies!! Apple pie and french silk are always my favorites. Can't forget key lime pie yum . Pizza pies are always good too though! DH really love chicken pot pie but I never grew up having it so I'm not real big on eating it. It's a bit of a treat when I do make it for him. It's pretty labor intensive! But that's how all the best recipes are right?
@runnergirl2018 I feel like I've bought so many baby clothes already and I have to keep telling myself to stop looking because I'll get a ton at the baby showers. My mom alone has already bought 7 sleepers lol. Oh man I haven't had a french silk pie in ages!! Those were always so good. Your mentioning of being a Chicago girl brought Portillo's into my head (I know it's not pie related at all lol).
@creativesoul63 I think we can all agree that daylight savings either needs to be kept off (and not sprung forward) or kept on and LEAVE IT. I hate when we spring forward because of how dark it is again when I wake up for work in the mornings. I struggle with that so much.
@velvetblue88 At least 2 days now I've been like dammit kid STOP. Sometimes I feel movement every couple seconds for 5-10 minutes and I'm just like how am I going to deal with this when I'm bigger?? Oye. I think there's been a number of times where he kicks more towards my cervix so that feels awkward as hell. Babies can't kick their ways out yet right? haha
@jellie603 ugh I hope the practice gets their act together and gets you scheduled! As for your question, if you really feel you want to pay him something, I would say pay him a small percentage of the total and that you'll only pay the rest with an established payment plan. It's really the guy's fault for not requiring any money up front or additional money once he's completed a particular part of the project.
@feather_heather what did you guys do on your babymoon? I think our best opportunity is going to be sometime in April but we haven't talked about it at all. I'd really love to do something relaxing and maybe some spa stuff. Momma needs some pampering lol.

@runnergirl2018 I'm sorry that this is a tough week for you with the upcoming due date. That's definitely difficult to process. Be extra kind to yourself this week and take all of the time you need.
@jellie603 ugh. I also had a flooring nightmare. Mine is done and in though, so I'm in a better spot, but why are contractors so terrible? Our contractor actually still, almost a year later, hasn't sent us a final invoice - we partially paid as work was completed. Given that he took 4x longer to complete the job than he quoted and massively overcharged us from the initial quote to begin with, I sort if feel like he's been fairly compensated already. Besides, if he wants to get paid, he can send it. In your situation, since he didn't complete the work, I completely get your conundrum of not wanting to pay him bur also not wanting to stiff him. Do you think he'd be open to negotiating the final invoice given that you still don't have a floor? I mean, it's not entirely his fault that the flooring was discontinued (though that seems like it might be debatable), but at the end of the day he didn't do the full amount of work he was supposed to do.
@inthewoods23 I recently bought a support belt (mostly because it was on major sale on Amazon), but haven't really used it a ton yet. I will say from the little I have used it that it does seem to be helping (though it's a pain when you hair to pee). I carried high with DS - like, he was buried in my ribcage so high that my OB sent me in to get an extra ultrasound at 39 weeks because she was *pretty sure* but not certain that he was head down because she couldn't feel him, high. This time around, I feel like I'm getting kicked in the cervix 70% of the time. I'm not sure if it's a repeat pregnancy thing, an "I'm just older thing," or if it's a carrying lower thing, but I definitely feel like I'm getting more lower back/hip pain a lot earlier than I did with DS.

Upcoming appointments: I have a fetal echo tomorrow and then an OB/gestational diabetes appt later this month
How are you feeling?: pregnant. Idk. Mostly fine.
Rants/Raves: I took Thurs and Fri off this week because H is going out of town and I just didn't feel like dealing with things solo, so DS and I are going to just hang out, so that's a major Rave. I'm definitely going to be ranting by Monday when the 2 days off comes back to bite me, but whatever.
My rant (with a small r) this week is daycare. I love our center, I really do, and I feel for their situation but ooohf is it a crunch on the parents. They've had trouble finding reliable, full-time staff since the beginning of the pandemic, and it hasn't eased up. They've made a number of requests over the last 6ish months for parents to keep kids home on particular days due to staffing. Now they've recently sent out notice that they're changing their hours of service temporarily to close one day per week for a number of weeks until they can get new staff in. H has a lot of flexibility at work and I've entered the [don't care if I get side eye for my PTO requests anymore, it's my PTO and I'm going to use it] phase of the quitting my job process, so it's not a big deal for us, but I can imagine that for many parents it's going to be very difficult to navigate. One of the reasons parents pick centers over in-home or nanny care is that this type of thing isn't supposed to be an issue.
Questions: natm
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? I'm not a huge pie person. That said, a good homemade strawberry rhubarb pie is one of my faves.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A box of Kraft mac n cheese
Upcoming appointments: I failed my 1 hour glucose tolerance test so Friday I will be taking a 3 hour test. I hope they let me leave the office for those 3 hours because I will be child-less and LOVE to go thrifting for an hour or so! (Thrifting is my favorite way to buy. I’m a thrift addict. I haven’t bought many baby or maternity clothes because I’d prefer to thrift than purchase brand new any day)
How are you feeling?: Grateful.
Rants/Raves: Daylight savings time is both my rant and my rave this week. I wish we could just stop with the switching of time already. I feel like once we get used to one time change it’s already time to switch it again and it completely screws up my kids routines. I do love the evenings being brighter so that’s my rave. This time change is my favorite BUT, my older kids are having difficulty getting up for school at 7AM in pitch black dark and my daughter rides her bike to school which makes me nervous as hell right now because it’s still darker than I’d prefer for her safety (she’s equipped with bike lights and wheel lights but still).
Questions: Has anyone failed the glucose 1 hour screening then failed the 3 hour? Has anyone here had gestational diabetes and if so, what changes during pregnancy? This is my seventh baby but my first time not passing this test so I’m a little on edge about possibly having GD.
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? Sweet! The only savory pie I like is a pizza pie. I’ve never understood meat pies or chicken pot pie, but that’s probably because I didn’t grow up eating them. My mom wasn’t a fan so she never made them.
This past weekend I was craving pie so bad that my husband and I went to a local farm here in South Florida that has a small bakery inside the market and bought two home made pies! One coconut cream and one key lime and they were both gone in one day.
@zwink1 ugh I seriously have no idea! And the fact that these people own a small business and they need the money to keep it running! I'm glad your flooring got completed, even if it was a huge headache along the way. In your case, I think since you already paid/he took forever/over charged, I would call it even haha.
@inthewoods23 I ordered a belly band from Amazon and I've worn it once so far. I got the kind that is just the band, no top strap over the belly because I thought that would be annoying. I wore it to the grocery store on Sunday and it was alright. I didn't find that it held my belly "up" or supported the weight there so it didn't help my pelvic pain. BUT it did help my lower back pain and I was able to not waddle through the store because of it! I carried high and pretty small with my first so I never needed one (I actually never even needed maternity clothes). But here - 2nd pregnancy, girls, twins - I am definitely feeling like I am much lower carrying and it is really not fun.
@tuxielove93 right?! That was my thought - you guys want your money and I totally get it! Contracts were a nightmare for us with our first house, so this time we just went with a local guy that had good recommendations and based on "handshake" kind of stuff. We never said "pay when it is complete only" or any verbiage like that so idk what to do here. He has kids of his own and his wife is now the kindergarten teacher in our town so I don't wan tto blow this family off haha. I think I will offer him half (which is all that I currently have for this project) and see if he will take a payment plan for the rest. I don't know of a better option.
@runnergirl2018 Big hugs girl. Those special dates are hard.
@creativesoul63 I went to the dentist yesterday too!! I don’t
have any experience with measuring small, but just wanted to give a big hug.
Waiting for the next appointment is hard. I also LOVE British style comfort
food! And that pie you made sounds delicious!!!
@velvetblue88 I’ve been having were appetite issues lately too.
Probably didn’t help that I had the stomach bug. But nothing sounds good. Why!?
@jellie603 Omg. That sounds so frustrating with the clinic.
It shouldn’t be this hard! About your flooring situation, honestly, I would
probably still pay him at least for the work that he did do. I wouldn’t want
that bad karma sticking around. He does sound super unusual though.
@feather_heather I’m glad you had a good babymoon. I’m not
at all jealous lol
@tuxielove93 I’m glad you’re feeling financially stable.
That will be such a relief some baby time! I’m sorry you guys got hit by a
virus. It seems like virus season is never ending!
@inthewoods23 Being pregnant does some crazy things to our
emotions. Big hugs. My biggest advice is to embrace the bump. I was sad when
mine was gone. I carried high for most of my last pregnancy but then he dropped
low for the last few months. I never thought I needed a support band though.
@zwink1 Oh wow. That daycare situation sounds tough! I’ve
heard of that same problem hitting so many daycare centers though (can’t find
staff). A lot of them are forced to close completely. I have a friend who’s on
their 3rd daycare since the pandemic, the first 2 closed! I can’t
imagine. I love our daycare some much.
@oli9 I’m sorry you failed the 1 hour test? What was your
level at? I’ve heard of a lot of people who have failed the 1 hour but passed

How are you feeling?: Good! Finally feeling like I have some energy

Rants/Raves: Nothing big going on. Me and MH got into an argument
this weekend about cleaning out the spare bedroom. I wanted to get working on

Anyways. We talked it through and were able to work on it and still relax a

We also brought DS to

@oli9 I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant with DS. Mine was diet controlled to the point I started to think I wasn’t because I was able to eat relatively normal and my numbers were always in range. It does consist of testing your blood sugar in the morning and then 1 hour after you eat breakfast/lunch/dinner. My doctor at the time had me go to a class on it and they went over how to test and what to eat.
They had me do an early test for it a few weeks ago and I passed but my number was on the higher end of passing. It is totally possible to fail the 1 hour and pass the 3 hour! Good luck!

How are you feeling?: overall feeling okay. Mentally I’ve been struggling and feeling down and then beating myself up for feeling down when I should feel happy. So just trying to be gentle with myself.
Rants/Raves: Rave: I finally have started feeling consistent kicks that I can definitely say is the baby. Although it is adding another layer of stress with constantly thinking “have I felt the baby kick recently?”.
Rant: NBR, I have a new manager at work after being without one since October when our manager was promoted to market leader. I work at a bank and we are slower than branches surrounding us so we were able to function without a manager and became pretty self sufficient. I struggle with change in general but she is already a bit of a micromanager which is making the transition harder. She also came from another bank so she understands the industry she still isn’t very familiar with our procedures and is not very receptive when we have mentioned things to her. I am hoping we will settle in soon but it just makes things feel on edge at work as we all adjust.
Questions:
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? I do love pizza but also enjoy a nice chocolate or apple pie.
@velvetblue88 My appetite is up and down lately. Sometimes I don't eat for awhile and other times I'm ravenous. I wonder if baby goes through grow spurts from time to time? Anyone know if that's a thing? I feel like it's all natural. I also wanna feel more baby kicks! There's been more lately for me and it's so cute.
@jellie603 That is so strange about your MFM follow up ultrasound. Like what the heck, you all are the professionals, so tell me what I need! Clearly there was a lot of miscommunication on their end with the doctors. I was surprised how much pressure they used when doing the ultrasound, I can see how you aren't looking forward to that again.
@tuxielove93 That's great that you figured out your maternity leave situation! I am still working on mine. I have short term disability but also wanting to use some PTO. But trying to figure out if I should save some PTO for after I come back from leave in case the baby is sick or something.
@inthewoods23 I think that's totally understandable to have mixed feelings about the bump! I am often surprised at how mine is growing. I wear sweaters all the time so if I put on a tshirt before bed i'm like, "wow, there's a baby in there!" lol
@oli9 Yay for thrifting! I hadn't really bought any baby stuff but this afternoon I went to a kids consignment shop (Once Upon a Child) and found so many great deals on baby clothes! They had 10 onesies for $10 which was exciting. I bought a whole stack and it was fun.
@bearsandbeets7 I've also been trying to be "gentle with myself". On saturday I was moody and just wanted to lay in bed listening to podcasts. My husband was super understanding about it. I felt bad at first but then tried to just accept the fact that I won't always feel motivated to do much. Pregnancy is a lot to handle! Also, sorry to hear about your new manager. I much prefer bosses who are hands off. It's so annoying to be micro-managed. Hopefully that will change soon. Transitions are hard.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, a few aches and pains but overall feeling well. In general I enjoy being pregnant. Still battling a yeast infection..ugh..I have a feeling it's going to be persistent for awhile. I've had this issue in the past and it's hard for me to get rid of them. Just annoying.
Rants/Raves: Rant-- definitely having more moments of getting stressed out about the months ahead. Getting baby stuff, finding child care, the postpartum period, etc. But I just have to take it one day at time. I get a lot of advice from family and friends which is usually helpful but sometimes just plain stressful.
Rave- We are going to visit my family later this week. I haven't seen my parents or brothers since the summer so I'm excited! I signed my husband and I up for a birth class, a newborn care class, and a breastfeeding class. Also, we found a doula to work with. All of that is making me feel more organized and prepared.
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? Sweet pies!! Chocolate or strawberry rhubarb. YUM.
@LJMoon6 lol that argument is me and my husband alllllll the time. I’m a doer. I just want to get it done, and it buys me until it is. He has very select circumstances under which he is willing to actually do stuff and it takes a lot of convincing. Makes me craZy

@zinnia19 yay for signing up for classes! i don't know if your hubby is planning on going to the breastfeeding class but i wish my husband went with me because there's so much good info there AND yay for chocolate pie!
@oli9 hope the 3 hour test goes well - from what i understand most people that fail the 1hr will pass the 3 hour. and if you don[t they'll help you manage things! i do think they make you stay the 3 hours
@zwink1 thank you that sucks about the daycare scheduling
@inthewoods23 so many baby clothes! and i have a bunch from my 3yr old saved, and my SIL has a kiddo that will be pretty much exactly a year older than mine and is giving us all his clothes (although a lot so far have not been in that good of condition) regarding belly band - i only really wore one with my first during exercise after like 25-30weeks but feeling like it might be helpful to start wearing one now. although also somehow i'm already 23 weeks which feels nutty! i feel like all of a sudden much more pregnant as well. struggling more with pictures than the first kiddo just because im in a larger body and dont' feel as much like a cute pregnant lady this time. i personally struggle a little more PP in the weird ways the body looks. I'm pretty sure Portillo's is hubby's love language he was so excited that we actually had a couple that opened in Tampa when we lived there
@velvetblue88 big hugs for just passing that anniversary
@tuxielove93 i had the same thing after a stomach bug in january. I felt off and had extra nausea/vomiting for about a week after the initial rough day and then back to my normal self - hope it passes quickly
@runnergirl2018 I still had some nausea hanging around but it had gotten so much better! Ugh. I hope this goes the same way as you

@tuxielove93 my first trimester nausea actually magically stopped at week 14 with this one which I’ve never had before and then I only had a week or two before that stupid stomach bug 🤣 I actually called my OB a couple days later to ask for meds because I was getting sick at work 🤪 I’m sure it’ll get better soon!
@runnergirl2018 hugs. I recently passed my MMC due date too. All the feelings
@jellie603 that’s tough, I would probably still pay but I’d feel bad if I didn’t. My husband definitely wouldn’t want to.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: it’s finger was the size of a tic tax yesterday, I forget what it was today
Upcoming appointments: 4/1
How are you feeling?: not as tired, which is good- work has really picked up so I’ve not been bumping as much. I’ve also been going into the office more, which makes bumping harder too lol
Rants/Raves: I’m loving this weather! It’s been in the 60s, nothing is really blooming yet, so no pollen issues for me, it’s great!
Questions:
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies?
Savory (pizza only) unless cheesecake counts as a pie, which I would argue it does- it has a crust and you bake it 😜
@inthewoods23 - Awwwwww I love that your app's size comparison said hedgehog - so fitting! We went to a resort on the cape, laid in bed and watched movies, went out to breakfast and dinner, swam in the pool, and went to the spa - it was very relaxing!
@zwink1 - OMG that's insane that your daycare is closing one day a week! Can you start looking for a different daycare?
@novaghost99 I have a bicornuate/arcuate uterus and had a septum removed in Nov 2019. I haven't done a social media announcement and won't until a baby is here, because of the risks. That being said, everything is looking great so far, and I wish the same for you!
@velvetblue88 I have uterus didelphys and have a high chance of preterm labor. It's so hard to tell what's normal when your doctor isn't quite sure either! Glad everything is looking great for you too! Pregnancy anxiety is way too real!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: I saw her on 3D scan yesterday at my doctors and they said she weighs almost two pounds and her head was down already. She's been ramming me in my c-section scar and holy 2 pounder I could feel the force!
Upcoming appointments: Had my Glucose appointment yesterday, drank the Orange flavor drink. All went well but I need to walk more and be more active. Since I was working from home since March 2020, I hardly needed to walk or move. So I didn't... but I need to start now because I feel so winded all the time and kind of just uncomfortable.
How are you feeling?: Pretty good but the transition in winter clothes to Spring clothes while pregnant is soooo hard. I feel like nothing feels comfortable and I can never predict the weather so I end up being under dressed or overdressed for work. I bought a ton of oversized dresses from ASOS and Old Navy. They're great and super comfortable. I've been living in my Doc Martens and platform converse because they're nice and wide and don't hurt my feet.
Rants/Raves: Rant- Why is it so easy to gain weight and so hard to lose it? I can blink twice while eating Pizza or chips and gain 5 lbs. Easy. I was just remembering how it took me close to 5 years to lose the "baby weight" of my last pregnancy. Perhaps I just didn't put as much effort into it, but dang, I can gain 10 lbs EASY if I just look at food for too long, and it makes me so cranky.
Questions: What are some of your Go To Protein options right now? I'm usually vegetarian, but not strict while pregnant. But I haven't craved meat very much this pregnancy and worry that my protein levels are low. All I'm doing is greek yogurts and beans these days.
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? SAVORY! I'm also a Chicago girl, and am constantly in the mood for pizza!
@elmann1 I love to do hummus and I’m a peanut butter fiend. We go through a giant jar every week over here. Any kind of nut/nut butter is a great protein addition! And you can put it in so many things. Crackers, apples, celery, pancakes, toast, pbjs! You could even do Asian dishes and make/buy a peanut sauce!
Hubby and Me Friends since 2008 Started dating: July 1st, 2013 Engaged: July 1st, 2014 Married: July 1st, 2016 R born: July 8th, 2017 N born: June 30th, 2019 Baby #3 Due: July 7th, 2022 (maybe I only ovulate in October XD)
@elmann1 I agree with tuxie, hummus and peanut butter but also eggs.
Our Journey:
Me: 40 TTC since 2017 3/18-9/18- IUI's 11/18- IVF #1 1/19- IVF #2 8/19- DE Cycle #1- 5 PGS tested normal 9/19- FET #1- SUCCESS! May 2020 10/21- FET #2- SUCCESS! July 2022
@tuxielove93 @cmhme Thanks for that! mmm I do love peanut butter and eggs (separately, lol). Any asian food with peanut sauce is amazing. Hummus! I forgot about that one.
@oli9 I hope your 3 hr test goes well! A co-worker of mine failed (barely) the 1 hr but passed the 3 hr, so definitely possible.
@feather_heather we could start poking around for a different center, but I'm kind of hesitant because we like the care S gets at his current center so much. And, to @LJMoon6's point, this seems like a pretty prevalent problem at the moment, so I'm not sure that we'd be able to get in anywhere else or even necessarily have any better luck at a different center.
@elmann1 - im vegetarian as well. I've been doing lots of nuts as snacks, I either have a protein smoothie or scrambled egg wrap for breakfast, i try to incorporate greek yogurt/cheese/eggs/beans (not together) for lunches and dinners, and sometimes veggie meats but i haven't enjoyed those much right now
@novaghost99 not uterine abnormality but a cord implantation issue - making 3rd trimester more uncertain for us too - lots of monitoring and risks for preterm birth

How are you feeling?: Feeling pretty good. We've been on vacation this past week, so that's why I haven't been as active and is hard to respond to other oats, but trying to keep up. Up to 10 hrs of driving in 1 day and tolerated it ok. A harder time sleeping in a bunch of different places but my parents were with us so also got some extra rest time.
Rants/Raves: this is my rant and rave- an overall great vacation. It's amazing to see toddlers experience new things like the ocean AND freaking exhausting due to tantrums, daylight savings, some sleep deprivation, etc.
Questions: nope
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? I'm a sweets girl, my mom makes the best homemade pie.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a box of dryer sheets
Upcoming appointments: Anatomy scan followup in two weeks - the tiny one was laying in the wrong position to get a good heart picture.
How are you feeling?: I'm hungry all the time and ended yesterday way more exhausted than I expected (AS was first thing in the morning, and then we were functionally running a half-field day with middle and high schoolers all afternoon), but otherwise, I'm feeling pretty good. Still trying to find the balance of work, school, and pregnancy.
Rants/Raves: We got to see the tiny one yesterday, and although I knew it was coming, it was so great to see a face that actually looked like an individual face, not just "oh, that's a baby." Hopefully, all these kicks I've been feeling will be able to be felt from outside soon.
Questions: None right now.
GTKY: It's Pi Day! Do you prefer sweet or savory pies? Can I vote for all of them? If I had to have an absolute favorite, pumpkin pie reigns supreme, but I can eat a whole lot more of a savory pie.
Re: Weekly Check - In / WO 3/14
I'm a Chicago girl, so i love me a good pizza, but I also like certain pies. I'm very sad that most Baker's Squares closed down because i loved their french silk pecan pie. I"m not a big fan of fruit pies unless i make them because of the weird goopy texture
Also, I haven't had a good Chicago-style in years! I've been craving pizza for a week... Maybe I should see if I can find a good Chicago pie in Dallas. 😁

Your mentioning of being a Chicago girl brought Portillo's into my head

@feather_heather I'm glad your trip went well!!
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 22w4d

I failed my 1 hour glucose tolerance test so Friday I will be taking a 3 hour test. I hope they let me
leave the office for those 3 hours because I will be child-less and LOVE to go thrifting for an hour or so! (Thrifting is my favorite way to buy. I’m a thrift addict. I haven’t bought many baby or maternity clothes because I’d prefer to thrift than purchase brand new any day)
Grateful.
Daylight savings time is both my rant and my rave this week.
Has anyone failed the glucose 1 hour screening then failed the 3 hour? Has anyone here had gestational diabetes and if so, what changes during pregnancy? This is my seventh baby but my first time not passing this test so I’m a little on edge about possibly having GD.
Sweet! The only savory pie I like is a pizza pie. I’ve never understood meat pies or chicken pot pie, but that’s probably because I didn’t grow up eating them. My mom wasn’t a fan so she never made them.
I don’t have any experience with measuring small, but just wanted to give a big hug. Waiting for the next appointment is hard. I also LOVE British style comfort food!
About your flooring situation, honestly, I would probably still pay him at least for the work that he did do. I wouldn’t want that bad karma sticking around. He does sound super unusual though.
@feather_heather I’m glad you had a good babymoon. I’m not at all jealous lol
@tuxielove93 I’m glad you’re feeling financially stable. That will be such a relief some baby time! I’m sorry you guys got hit by a virus. It seems like virus season is never ending!
@inthewoods23 Being pregnant does some crazy things to our emotions. Big hugs. My biggest advice is to embrace the bump. I was sad when mine was gone. I carried high for most of my last pregnancy but then he dropped low for the last few months. I never thought I needed a support band though.
@zwink1 Oh wow. That daycare situation sounds tough! I’ve heard of that same problem hitting so many daycare centers though (can’t find staff). A lot of them are forced to close completely. I have a friend who’s on their 3rd daycare since the pandemic, the first 2 closed! I can’t imagine. I love our daycare some much.
@oli9 I’m sorry you failed the 1 hour test? What was your level at? I’ve heard of a lot of people who have failed the 1 hour but passed the 3 hour no problem .I hope that’s the case for you!

Rants/Raves: Nothing big going on. Me and MH got into an argument this weekend about cleaning out the spare bedroom. I wanted to get working on it and he wanted to be lazy for the day. I get it, I’d rather sit on the couch and watch TV too, but this shit needs to get done! I’m not doing it by myself. Anyways. We talked it through and were able to work on it and still relax a little bit.
We also brought DS to a small indoor water park at a community center this weekend. He had soooo much fun. He even swam the full 25 meters of the pool with his arm floaties on all by himself (he’s nearly 2.5). I think we have a little fish on our hands!

@jellie603 That is so strange about your MFM follow up ultrasound. Like what the heck, you all are the professionals, so tell me what I need! Clearly there was a lot of miscommunication on their end with the doctors. Rant-- definitely having more moments of getting stressed out about the months ahead.

@LJMoon6 thank you
@oli9 hope the 3 hour test goes well - from what i understand most people that fail the 1hr will pass the 3 hour. and if you don[t they'll help you manage things! i do think they make you stay the 3 hours
@zwink1 thank you
@inthewoods23 so many baby clothes! and i have a bunch from my 3yr old saved, and my SIL has a kiddo that will be pretty much exactly a year older than mine and is giving us all his clothes (although a lot so far have not been in that good of condition) regarding belly band - i only really wore one with my first during exercise after like 25-30weeks but feeling like it might be helpful to start wearing one now. although also somehow i'm already 23 weeks which feels nutty! i feel like all of a sudden much more pregnant as well. struggling more with pictures than the first kiddo just because im in a larger body and dont' feel as much like a cute pregnant lady this time. i personally struggle a little more PP in the weird ways the body looks. I'm pretty sure Portillo's is hubby's love language
@velvetblue88 big hugs for just passing that anniversary
@tuxielove93 i had the same thing after a stomach bug in january. I felt off and had extra nausea/vomiting for about a week after the initial rough day and then back to my normal self - hope it passes quickly

@jellie603 that’s tough, I would probably still pay but I’d feel bad if I didn’t. My husband definitely wouldn’t want to.

Savory (pizza only) unless cheesecake counts as a pie, which I would argue it does- it has a crust and you bake it 😜
@zwink1 - OMG that's insane that your daycare is closing one day a week! Can you start looking for a different daycare?

@cmhme
Thanks for that! mmm I do love peanut butter and eggs (separately, lol). Any asian food with peanut sauce is amazing. Hummus! I forgot about that one.
