๐๐ง๐๐ฌ: What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten?
Re: Weekly Check-In Week of 3/7
kangaroo, gamey but good.ย
Also I've been dealing with some mental health issues on and off. Loads of anxiety as well as depression.
Also, Marmite. It's not really an obscure food at all but it's just the strangest taste to me and I'm amazed that millions of people eat it every day
Raves: I'm taking a staycation from work most of next week.ย I've been so tired and having a hard time focusing on my tasks.ย Hopefully this is a nice reset for me.
Like by my standards, pretty much nothing, but Iโm from Sweden and living in the US. Reindeer jerky, horse meat (not great, donโt recommend), blood sausage, Swedish Kaviar (Kalles Kaviar, smoked codโs roe). I had to smell fermented herring once which was close enough for me. I recommend โfermented herringโ try videos on YouTube.ย
- Once per month, first and second trimesters (weeks 8-28)
ย ย ย ย ย ย + Optional first trimester screens, like NIPT or NTย (10-14 weeks)ย ย ย ย
ย ย ย ย ย ย + Mid-pregnancy anatomy scan (18-22 weeks)
ย ย ย ย ย ย + Gestational diabetes screen (24-28 weeks)
- Every two weeks, third trimester (weeks 29-36)
- Every week, last month of third trimester (weeks 36 until delivery), might include non-stress tests
@pangolindrome I will most definitely NOT be taking you up on those fermented herring try videos, lolย
@sandy5693 My midwives follow exactly what @merostomata said above re: appointment line-up for low-risk pregnancies.
@pangolindrome When you buy depends a lot on when you show and your size. Some people can get away without getting much by way of maternity-specfic clothing and just size up. I'm already showing at 10 weeks and have needed to dig into my maternity clothing stash from my first pregnancy for a couple of items, namely pants. In my first pregnancy I remember needing a new bra pretty quickly and haven't gone back to underwire since. I'm still able to get away with wearing my flowy dresses and some looser tops, but I've already ordered a few items. Also a good thing to remember is that you may need your maternity clothes for a month or two after having baby as your bump goes down, so make sure to get some warmer options for October, November and maaaaybe December. Oversized sweaters work too.

Ostrich sandwich...tasted like a roast beef sandwich.
@merostomata that sounds good to me, haha. I look forward to not wearing work clothes during third tri, at least not most of it thanks to summer vacation.
And yeah, I have given my principal a โIโm open to other classes but this is an idea Iโm entertainingโ and itโll all depend on my husbandโs work when we get there, which we wonโt know about until we get there. It would be amazing to go down to 75% if we can manage it. It would be for a year, I know there will be students for those classes for 2023-24.
Iโm Hispanic so Iโve had pretty much any type of taco you can think of: tongue, intestines, cow ear, cow brain, prob much more.
