Re: Weekly Check-In w/o 3.7
Chocolate chip cookies for sure. I'm obsessed! I like making cookies in general, and like doing seasonal/festive ones (ex. pumpkin spice w/ cream cheese icing in the fall, etc.) But chocolate chip has the #1 spot in my heart, for sure!

An endive. Although, I don’t think I know what an endive is.
April 1st is a regular appointment then after that I feel like everything goes into hyper speed and I have a ton of appointments on top of one another (mainly because I am geriatric)
Pretty good physically. A little nervous for the next few months. I’m a planner and I feel a bit out of control during pregnancy.
My rant is that I told my best friend the name we think we’ve decided on for our baby MONTHS ago and she responded with a ton of “oooo auhhhh I love it, so beautiful!” type comments and when I text her this week to tell her we may end up changing the name to something else we’ve been thinking of, she responded with “what was the name again? I forgot.” And that just seriously irked me.
I wanted to try to go into natural labor with this baby (I usually request to be induced because im so miserable by that point but i didn’t want to do that this time) but my doctor told me at my last appt that because of my GERIATRIC (she didn’t use that terminology but she said “due to your age) age she will want to induce me early or have me deliver no later than 40 weeks because of the still birth rate in older women. My question is has anyone heard of that before and how early were you induced? 1 week? 2 weeks?
I am not a baker although I love to cook, but my mom was a baker and I grew up with warm apple pies, chocolate chip cookies, cheesecakes, key lime pies, coconut cream pies, strawberry short cakes… you name it, my mom baked it. I sure do miss her baking.
My favorite baked desert is key lime pie with a gram cracker crust.
@oli9 - yes there is data to suggest that inducing helps reduce rates of stillbirth for AMA moms. I forget exactly when the recommendation is to do it, but before 40 weeks
@runnergirl2018 I know I saw you mention it somewhere else, but can you remind me what marginal cord insertion is? I have something going on with one of our cords but I was given a lot of info on Friday and I'm having trouble remembering it all.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 20w today! Due date is up in the air really.
At the AS, the doctor said that Baby B has some sort of cord "thing" in that it didn't attach to the placenta perfectly and all those membranes at the attachment site are somewhere else. This *could* lead to growth restrictions but they aren't concerned yet (baby b is looking larder than a right now). But they will have me on regular growth US.
MH doesn't like sweets so I feel like I never get to bake. DS is getting older though so I've started doing it more. We like to make chocolate chip banana bread, pumpkin chocolate chip bread, oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and muffins. My favorites to eat are cannolis and cheesecake
ETA: I just went downstairs to grab out papers and it does look like she marked the "P. cord insertion" as Velamentous. I feel like she brushed this off though. I just did a quick Google search (I know, I know) and now I'm a little concerned.
@lilirunning34 we've had that too where I'll feel him kicking around in there so I go over to DH to let him feel and then nada! I think half the problem is that I feel him more often when I'm sitting. I more often than not have to go stand by DH because of where he's at and the kicks don't come through as well when I'm in that position.
@stardustskies I just had a meme the other week that was something along the lines of "your man smells nice, but have you ever walked past a Cinnabon at the mall?" . You can never go wrong with a cinnamon roll. Hoping everything looks great at your anatomy scan!
@oli9 I wouldn't be too harsh on your friend for not remembering the name. I'm sure she's got her own things occupying her brain. And maybe the name is less likely to stick for her since it's not her pregnancy. At least she didn't do a 180 and tell you she hated the name you originally thought of!
@runnergirl2018 DH hates all of these fruit comparisons haha. A bell pepper definitely doesn't seem right. Which is why I switched my WTE app to show 80s and 90s nostalgia for the comparisons. I think this week is a Kool-aid Burst bottle. Last week was the size of a beanie baby or something. It's a little more fun. I've had a handful of weird pregnancy dreams too. Once I even woke up feeling really scared. Not fun.
@sunshineandlemons isn't the Acadia similar to a Suburban or Tahoe? I'd consider them all to be pretty big. Doesn't really mean anything in terms of the gas tank size I suppose. Gas is just under $4 oof! I have nothing to complain about with the gas prices since I have an EV. I just complain how much battery is lost in the cold weather ha.
@jellie603 interesting that baby B has the concern with their placenta/cord yet is currently larger. I hope everything continues to progress well despite that!
@feather_heather that's crazy that you put in an over $30k over listing and it still wasn't accepted! Did they accept someone's that was higher than yours or did they just decide your offer wasn't good enough? I'm surprised the housing market is still seeing crazy things like that.
@velvetblue88 what a relief about your a1c! Hope you find some allergy relief soon. We've had a couple swings in temperatures here in WI but I don't think we're at temperatures yet that would cause allergies to come and go with the weather. We just end up with colds and such with our temperature swings. Bleh.

@jellie603 yay for having a good OB at least! I hope you get to deliver with them
@jellie603 My husband doesn't like sweets either! It's a shame because I love to bake. But my kids are getting old enough that they appreciate it so I get to do it more now. In my first pregnancy, my baby stuck his foot into my ribs and hung upside down there for a good month. That hurt too touch. I was 8 months at the time, but you do have two in there.

Baby #3 Due: July 7th, 2022
(maybe I only ovulate in October XD)
@tuxielove93 sorry your husband didn't get the job. Good for you for planning ahead for the rest of the year. And I didn't know that stat about GD and subsequent pregnancies, thanks for sharing!
@inthewoods23 I don't think my bump had changed much in the past couple weeks either, like it popped out quick and then had stayed similar. Belly button is definitely out though!
@courtneyqdk I feel you on being sick constantly this first half of pregnancy. It really has been soooo hard. Not even pregnancy related. I also had to take care of my toddler while I was dead on the couch last week. Not fun at all. I’m glad you’re feeling better!
@lilirunning34 I keep hearing more comments about sore/swollen legs and it’s making me nervous for what’s to come. I got so swollen last pregnancy! I thought maybe I’d be spared this time. But I just think I’m not far enough along yet. I hope your legs don’t get any worse for you!
@stardustskies Now I have the biggest craving for cinnamon rolls!!!
@oli9 I’m sorry your friend didn’t remember the name you had picked. I would have been disappointed in that too.
@runnergirl2018 I’m so excited for spring to come. It can’t be here soon enough!
@sunshineandlemons I’ve heard that with diabetes in general having to pee a lot is a sign. I’m not sure if that can be applied to GD though since us pregnant women pee all the damn time lol. I’m also worried about GD this time around. I didn’t have it with my first but I was borderline on the test. I ended up having a big baby and half suspect maybe I did have undiagnosed GD. Idk. It’s probably not true, but something that goes through my mind sometimes.
@jellie603 Noooooo to the stomach bug. That is the absolute worst! I hope you are spared. But yay to having some bigger items purchased for you. I can’t image having to buy 2 of everything. MH also doesn’t really like sweets. So unless I’m willing to eat the whole thing I usually don’t make it.
@feather_heather I’m sorry you’re having pregnancy insomnia. I’ve definitely been more restless at night the last couple days too. Also sorry about your offer on the house not being accepted. We bought our house 5 years ago when the market was pretty hot, but I can’t imagine trying to buy a house in this insane of a market. Of course I’m always on Zillow looking though lol.
@velvetblue88 I’m glad your A1C came back normal and you don’t have to take the glucose test sooner. What a relief!!! I’m sorry your allergies are going crazy. It’s still winter here in MN so the thought of allergies hasn’t even crossed my mind yet lol.
@inthewoods23 HR and maternity leave is such a joke in this country. I hate it so much. I would reach out again. That’s unacceptable for them to be taking this long. I also don’t think my bump has changed much over the last few weeks. But maybe it’s just more subtle and I’m not noticing it as much.
@tuxielove93 I’m sorry YH didn’t get any of the jobs. That sucks. I’m hopeful that there’s even something better out there for him.
@sjb2215 Yay for spring break coming up! We just got back from vacation but another one sounds really good right about now lol.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: July 29th, 19w5d
FTM/STM/STM+: STM
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team pink
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Crepe suzette
Upcoming appointments: Just had our anatomy scan today. OB appointment next week.
How are you feeling?: Much better this week. I ended up being hit by a second wave of the stomach bug last week. I was out most of the week. It was rough! I’m definitely feeling more energized now.
Rants/Raves: We had our anatomy scan today and everything looked good. She does have some extra fluid on one of her kidneys so we will have to go back and have that checked again at 32 weeks. The doctor said that in 99% of cases it clears up on its own by 18 months. Of course I’m a little bit anxious about it, but I know the odds are in our favor, so I just keep trying to remind myself of that.
I do have an anterior placenta, so that makes sense why I’m feeling things a little bit differently this time. Baby kicks are definitely getting more frequent. I can’t wait for DS (and DH) to be able to feel them. He thinks it’s hilarious that his baby sister is kicking mommies tummy lol.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite baked good to make? If you're not a baker, what's your favorite to eat? I’m not a big baker, mostly because I would be the only one eating it. But I love everything sweet. Pastries are my absolute favorite!!!!

@inthewoods23 ugh the whole maternity leave situation in this country is ridiculous. I have short term disability but that will only be 66% of my pay, for 9 or 11 weeks, depending on what kind of birth I have. Similar to what @runnergirl2018 said, I basically have the 12 weeks of FMLA and then get the short term disability pay for part of it. Insurance is so sketchy and confusing. Luckily I got my short term disability a few years ago, but it's crazy cause for my plan, you have to sign up a year before you are going to use it. So you couldn't get pregnant and then sign up. It's so stupid.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: July 20th/ 21 weeks today.

@tuxielove93 thanks for the reassurance 🤞🤞
@oli9 oh no! I’m sorry you failed the early one. And peeing 10x a night?? .Yuck! You have got to be exhausted! I joked around with my husband after my second was born that I slept better and felt more rested with a newborn than I did pregnant (bc of peeing in the motn third tri and congestion due to pregnancy) 🤣
