Nervousness Before First OB Appointment

So, I'm due November 5th. I called and set up an appointment but it's not until March 28. It feels so far away and I feel almost like I'm fake pregnant. I keep worrying that maybe it was a false positive or a chemical pregnancy, or maybe it's ectopic and I won't know for 4 weeks. It's just so frustrating/stressful and I'm not sure how to handle it. I'm wondering if anyone else has or had the same feelings?

Re: Nervousness Before First OB Appointment

  • I feel the same way. My first appointment is March 29th and I am so worried about miscarrying. My first and only son is almost 12. My husband and I are kind of starting over again. I still can’t believe I’m pregnant. Lol. I’m trying to be patient, clear my head and think POSITIVE thoughts. Sending positive vibes your way.

  • Same here and exact same dates! Sending positive energy your way ✨ Four weeks is such a long time to meet these little ones! Im trying to stay optimistic and excited 🤞
  • that's pretty normal I'd think =) I know here they make moms wait until closer to 12 weeks for their first appointment if they're not high risk! Maybe you could ask for a dating ultrasound if you're nervous about it? They might be able to set that up a little sooner

  • It's nice to know I'm not the only person having the worries, especially since we haven't told anyone yet and it's my first. I'm feeling a little lost with all the pregnancy stuff. Congratulations on your new little one!
  • I totally get it! My first pregnancy was last summer, and it ended up being ectopic. I’m now pregnant again, and the anxiety has been so bad! My numbers are looking good! But I am just counting down the days until my first scan so that I can KNOW that everything is okay.
  • I 1000% feel the same way. We ended up telling parents because we wanted to allow ourselves to be excited about our first pregnancy - but with that is coming so much anxiety about what’s happening inside my body!

My Dr’s appointment is in a week and just hoping to hear a confirmed healthy pregnancy :s Wishing the same for you!
  • I feel the same. Is it real yet? They won’t see me until at least 10 weeks in.
  • I feel the exact same way. I'm so anxious. I tried keeping myself from getting too excited until after the first appt, but that already failed. My first appt isn't until April 7th, at which point I'll be almost 10 weeks. It feels so far off but I'm just trying to keep all the what ifs at bay and just take precautions where needed.
  • I’m due Nov 5 with my first appointment March 28th as well. This is my first pregnancy and I’m EXTREMELY nervous about everything. Literally wondering if I can even handle this if that makes any sense. 😆😆
  • This is my 3rd pregnancy and it doesn't get any easier! The only thing that ever helps me is when I keep busy. The more time I have to go on Google, over analyze my symptoms, even come on here, the more anxious I get. If I can keep myself busy, I find I spend less time agonizing over that unknown.
  • You’re not alone in feeling that way! Every little cramp or twinge I feel I get super anxious about. I wanna fast forward to my first US to make my BFP a little more real and see a healthy babe growing! I’m sure my anxiety won’t go away until November!
  • Ugh yes! I feel the same. I’m due Nov 6, and I go to the OB March 30. This is my 4th pregnancy but will (hopefully) be our third child. I don’t think I will fully relax until we get clear blood work back from my NIPT that I can’t take until 10 weeks. That’s where things went south for us last time and we lost the baby in Dec at 13 weeks. I’m sooo excited now but super nervous and it’s going to be a long couple of months.
  • @ali527501 Mine said the same thing! I’m dying for my first OB appt but they said that they won’t schedule them until 10-12 weeks, which just feels like a lifetime. Luckily I am getting an early ultrasound on Monday for placement since my last pregnancy was ectopic. That will be a huge stress reliever to know that the baby is for sure in my uterus 😅
  • Close to the same dates for me. Nov. 7th and first appt is 3/29. My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage before I even made it to my firs OB appt, so I am definitely nervous about the possibility of that happening again.
  • I feel the same way! Due Noevmber 15 and it's my first pregnancy and I'm nervous I'm either imagining the cramping, soreness or am I doing everything right until my appointment 4/5. My anxiety is getting the best of me every morning.
  • I feel the exact same! Feeling “fake” pregnant is the perfect way to describe it. We decided to not tell immediate family until after our 1st apt, which almost makes me feel like I’ve imagined the whole thing. I’ve been having mild cramping from the beginning, I actually delayed taking the pregnancy test because I thought I was about to start my period. It’s hard to move out of that mindset until I hear the heartbeat
  • @aflec7003 same due date! My first appointment is not until April 19th. I’m going crazy.
