How do you think they'll react to the new human sibling?
Are they treating you any differently while you're pregnant?
--
These are my fur babies, Calliope and Artemis. They're 6 year old Siamese sisters.
So far, the only change in their behavior is to be even more snuggly with me -- I think because my body temp is higher.
We don't have any kids yet, but their previous owners had a baby and said they were 'suspicious and confused' about their baby. We'll see how they do with ours when the time comes!
I think the hardest part will be that they HATE closed doors, but we will need to close the baby's bedroom door. (Anyone had this problem?)
My sweet rescue Tucker! He LOVES babies! He is very gentle and is super protective of us , especially my daughter! Im sure he will be great with the baby! Best part is he doesn’t bark it was actually one of the top reasons we rescued him, so no waking the baby up !
Here are the members of our menagerie: Roxie - pit mix Sherman - Rottweiler (still basically a puppy at only 1.5 years) Oliver - orange cat Finn - gray cat
They adore our kiddos, although Sherman has never met a brand new baby so I imagine he will be very curious.
these are my two fur babies: Opie is 7 (left) and Amos is 1 1/2 (right). We are going to tell family by having them wear bandanas based on their personalities. Opie's will say Baby Security (in training) because he loves doing perimeter checks and barking at people who go by our house. He is also protective of his parents and brother. Amos's will say I thought I was the baby. He is my shadow and loves all the snuggles. He will probably love on the baby and want to snuggle with him. Only issues I see will be keeping him away from the baby and he does get jealous of others getting attention (he will cry and try to get attention, no aggression).
We have three cats! Bodhi (fluffy one), Lilo (darker) and Stitch. Stitch loves to cuddle with me but is scared of strangers so I am wondering how long it will take him to get used to the baby. Bodhi is not always so ice with kids because he definitely likes his space so we will be needing to teach him and baby boundaries when the time comes! Lilo is the most curious of the three. I think we will be getting a bassinet that has a mesh zipper cover. I have read some reviews that it’s pretty sturdy so 1) the cats get in there and 2) they can’t jump on top and cave it in! But we will def be very diligent when we bring baby home.

Omg I love the idea of having your pups be part of the announcement!!! What cuties!
This is our black lab, Tessie. She also goes by babygirl. She is a love, but also has all the puppy energy, even at 8 years old. She has been super snuggly with my every night. I can't remember if she was when I was pregnant with DS or not. She was super protective when we first came home from the hospital with DS, so I imagine she will do the same with this new baby. She is the best fur sister.

These are our pups Pierogi (5 almost 6 year old pug) and Cricket (2 year old longhaired mini dachshund). DS adores them, especially Cricket who has doted on him from day one.
We also have our cat, Biggsy (6) who we never call by her name, just by Kitten. She is our resident baby item tester and must sit in carseats, strollers, cribs, loungers, etc.
nellie is super kid friendly she dotes on my two children. She has met my baby nephew a few times and gets a little to over excited. I have no doubt She will definitely claim this baby as her own 🙈
Here is our Tosha, 22 months old, going on six months with us. German shepherd/husky, 60lb, the LONGEST and lankiest dog I have met save a greyhound. In the photo, she was engaging in some vertical drinking despite being two feet away from a flat spot and having 10ft of leash to spare. She is a huge snuggler and a very energetic walking buddy. She loves to chew, play, snuggle. She is spoiled and sleeps on the bed with us when she wants to.
This is Theodore! He is a huge snuggle bug but have been noticing him laying more on/against my stomach then normal. Not sure how he will be with a baby as he has been the baby for 2 years. He’s a miniature schnauzer/Maltese mix!
Our 3 furry friends! Arashi is the first picture; half blind and fully deaf with some funky neuro condition. Gunner the fluff who loves snow & cold and in summer bathing in the river. And Teemo the hunter who we barely see in summer except when he brings us offerings... They've had the experience with the first so second one should be equally crazy! Edit for typos!
