@bearmomma1 Let us know what you hear back from your lab work. Glad you got the HCG tested out and get to move forward!

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Things are going okay for the moment. I'm planning to start letrozole next cycle if this one doesn't work, so it's nice to have a plan already in place to be proactive if needed.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? I had thyroid testing last week that came back normal. Next step is to meet with an RE in early May if we don't have success by then.

    Questions? Not today

GTKY: What is the best meal you've had in recent memory? I had short rib tacos that I am still dreaming about!
  • @abjm0325 I'm not sure what testing exactly, they said it's genetic testing but what for I don't know.

  • Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc. Hi all, this is my first week joining in here. I’m almost 39 with 2 prior losses, early spontaneous loss last August, and MMC at 11 weeks (D&C) 3 weeks ago.

Status: Benched until my cycle returns.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? I’m still struggling with pregnancy hormones dropping. What is going well is that I feel a little more like myself every day.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? I will go to check my thyroid and do a basic RPL panel this week. My doc says these tests rarely amount to anything, but he wanted to cross it off the list.

Questions? Any thoughts on seeing a therapist after a loss? I feel like it could be really helpful, but I am struggling with making a weekly appointment to cry and feel shitty, if that makes sense.

GTKY: What is the best meal you've had in recent memory? We had a full Thanksgiving style turkey dinner for my FIL’s birthday yesterday, complete with cranberry, mashed potatoes, gravy, and sausage squash “stuffing”. Comfort food at its finest.
  • @maggiemadeit yes to the therapist, get one, love one, use one. Says the therapist with a therapist.

  • @mambo5-2 Thanks for the unbiased suggestion 😉. Total coincidence, I’m reading a book right now about a therapist in therapy. It’s enlightening.

    Status: WTO, I think?

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? oh man things are going, I wound up going on the bachelorette party this past weekend which had a ROCKY start. i will share under Monday Bitchfest bc that's where it belongs.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? everything is normal, had a great OB f/u last week. we had a fertility appt March 14th.

Questions?  first period after D&C i believe is here? it's just so light. i had some cramps thur/fri, and then spotting. Fri night/saturday had actual bleeding, and since then it's just been like really really light spotting. so I am like does this count? it would've been 26 days post D&C which right in line for my cycle, so maybe?! my period usually lasts 5-7 days, so like 36 hours feels weird?!

GTKY: What is the best meal you've had in recent memory? oooh the weekend of Valentine's we went to this amazing Indian place by us, kashmiri naan, a himalayan style duck, great cocktails and dessert. yum. totally indulgent.

@mambo5-2 are they doing carrier screening for you and your husband?
@bearmomma1 hope you get results back, my karyotyping took two weeks and my RPL testing took 6 days, they said it can take up to 10 for the b2 gylcoprotein results
@maggiemadeit the hormone shifts are hard. so i just started therapy again, i specifically searched for someone with prenatal/postpartum/fertility specialization, we are doing every other week and i know everyone is different but it's not an all out cryfest.
  • @anniemarie887 that’s exciting it showed up! I bet it’s expected to be a little “off” after the D&C.

@maggiemadeit I agree that therapy is definitely helpful. Even if you do cry it helps to get it out and embrace all the feelings.

@mambo5-2 omg chili over cornbread waffles? I might have to add that to my meal plan this week. Sounds delicious!

@abjm0325 having a plan in place is always a good feeling!

  • @maggiemadeit I agree, therapy can be so, so helpful.

@anniemarie887 I'm so sorry your fears about the bach party seemed to come true. Some women, especially women who've never experienced a loss, can just be SO self-centered and hurtful.

    @mambo5-2 that sounds DELICIOUS.

How are things going? What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? I'm finding that starting the TTC journey again is brining up all the feels...first hope, but then anxiety, stress, fear. Basically the TTC emotional milieu that we all swim in. I have two friends who are currently pregnant, one who struggled with IVF for years and one who did IUI with success, and the one friend seems to just glide on a cloud of blissful ignorance. NOT that I want her to ever feel what we've all felt, its more that I would like to feel that (if we're successful), but I don't know that I can and that makes me sad. I hope that makes sense.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Nope

Questions? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but does the fear of another loss ever subside? I feel like once you've had one the fear is just ingrained into your bones because you know it can be snatched away again.

GTKY: What is the best meal you've had in recent memory? Hmm...I made some delicious steaks a couple of weeks ago, but honestly I have been dreaming about this amazing Indian place that closed because of the pandemic. It was the BEST Indian food I've ever had.
  • @maggiemadeit I am in the same boat as you. I had a D&C mid January and got my cycle back 4 weeks after to the day. Hopefully your body goes back to normal soon. I was in therapy prior to my MC, but then had a whole session dedicated to it after it happened. My therapist was really supportive and helped me navigate some thoughts amd feelings. I highly recommend if you are even considering it. Hoping you continue to heal 🙏

@bbrahmbhatt i think many ppl do have the fears lower when they make it past certain milestones, but also for many like myself it feels like the innocence of it is gone.

eta: i put my bach weekend update in the ivf thread bc there wasn't a monday bitchfest thread.
  • @anniemarie887 I would like to personally boob punch the lady from the Bach party

  • @anniemarie887 That is insanely awful and terrible and I’m sorry you had to endure that. I think you were super brave and strong for staying after that and making the best of the trip. I think I might have retreated under similar circumstances.
  • @maggiemadeit I didn’t see a therapist after my loss, but I wish I would have. I think if you can find a good one it can be a really productive conversation and won’t necessarily involve crying (at least all the time). That Thanksgiving dinner sounds amazing!

@anniemarie887 I am so livid for you! Some people just have no decency. I don’t have any personal experience on the light period, but maybe your body just didn’t have much to expel after the D&C? Hopefully it will be regulated for you now.

@bbrahmbhatt It is definitely tough to watch others not worry when we know we will probably always worry from now on. I think it’s probably like heartbreak. We don’t ever want anyone to experience a broken heart, but we learn a lot about the depths of love and resiliency when we have to experience it.

    thanks ladies

@abjm0325 i allowed myself to google a little bit... it could be nothing, or it could be a sign of asherman's syndrome which is scar tissue forming as a result of the d&c. it appears not to much of a red flag for the first period following, but if it repeats itself i should call my OB
