WTF/Winning Wednesday

Put your WTF’s and Wins for the week here!

Re: WTF/Winning Wednesday

  • WTF- found out yesterday I have esophagus damage (surprise lol), so I am getting a new acid-reflux prescription today to take before every meal & bedtime (FX it works!).

Winning- Our roof is being finished today! (We replaced our shingles w/ a tin roof after storm damage). Just in time because we're suppose to have tornado weather tomorrow eve, so hopefully it holds up just fine and it doesn't get as bad as predicted! My husband is also taking me to eat sushi this weekend as a post-valentine dinner. We never go on dates anymore so I am excited for us to just get out of the house together!

  • WTF - second time this pregnancy I’ve had to size up in bras. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️
Winning - it is kindof like having a free boob job while it lasts??? (I’ll keep telling myself that🤣)

  • @MrsLaLaBug I’m in the same boat! I absolutely cannot stand my new boobs. They’re always in the way, move around way too much, are so sensitive when I walk they hurt, and really make the gym a pain.

I’ll count that as my WTF

Winning: My MIL gave us the money for a crib!!! So excited to finally get that ordered!

  • My WTF is that my FIL texted today that he tested positive for covid. We were all together for Super Bowl and DD was with them last Tuesday night. She has been sick since Friday / Saturday and last night, I started feeling sick. I scheduled a rapid drive thru test for myself today but I STG if we have covid again (is that even possible since we had it in January?) I’m going to lose it.

Winning? Idk. I’m pissed off haha.
  • @b_1029 nooooo!!!! Keep us updated!

  • @MrsLaLaBug rapid test was negative! So I guess I can stop overreacting now 😅
  • Yayyy for no Rona!!!

  • WTF - I had my 3-hour glucose test yesterday, stuck 6 times, and I still haven't heard back from my OB if I passed or not. They were quick to call me last time when I failed my 1-hour.
Winning - We're being given a really nice crib! I had resigned myself to a pack-n-play or a bassinet. But looks like we're getting an actual bed for him!

  • @DarkSerendipity I had my 2 hour glucose test last Thursday and haven’t heard anything either. I do have an appt with my dr tomorrow so hoping they will share the results then.
  • Since I'm not seeing a bitchfest for this week, I'm adding this to WTF.
We have no one to take our kids when I have these babies! My mom won't because she wants to be able to come to the hospital (and also complains about keeping the kids longer than a few hours), my sister already has 5 kids of her own so I don't want to add on my 3. My SIL watched the older two for my last birth but complained about it and made my husband leave me and our 5 hour old baby at the hospital to come home because she was too worn out to stay one night with them. I have literally no idea what we are going to do.

  • @jackdetroit shit! I’m sorry that is so frustrating!!! What about looking for a teenager/college student in your area to bring on as an occasional sitter the next couple months to see if you find someone you trust and feel comfortable with? Or maybe smack some sense into SIL…
  • @jackdetroit that’s an unnecessary stress. That SIL needs to get her head out of her *** and step up and help!
  • @jackdetroit ugh that's so frustrating!! Any aunts/uncles or cousins that may be willing to help?
  • @jackdetroit Oh hell no!! That’s very stressful. Do you want your mom at the birth??? If she’s not absolutely necessary I’d see about having her do nights with the kids and maybe SIL do daytime? Or maybe a babysitter do daytime? The last thing you need while you’re delivering twins is to be worried that your family is “put out” by your kiddos. This is not like you’re asking for a date night or vacation. This is a huge opportunity to love and serve you. I don’t doubt it will cost them some time and energy but geez… it’s like two days.
  • @jackdetroit omg your mom needs to wake up and smell the REAL urgency and how she can ACTUALLY help you. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ Tell her she can’t come to the hospital bc of Rona 😂😂😂

  • @jackdetroit oh my goodness! That is frustrating! I’m sorry you’re having to bear that stress on top of everything else right now. Family can be so useless sometimes. Any friends or good neighbours you can call on? Our plan is to ask our neighbour to come over until my parents can get here. I haven’t actually asked them yet, but I am 95% sure they’ll be down for that.
  • @jackdetroit ugh that is so frustrating. I think very few hospitals in my city are allowing visitors besides your one support person (aka husband/partner) anyway, so she probably can't even come!!!!
  • @jackdetroit I agree with previous posters, I'd just tell mom she can't be in the room due to COVID regulations!
  • @jackdetroit so if I remember correctly on my last bmb there was something people looked into called a sibling doula. So basically a nanny or babysitter but specifically on call for the event of your childbirth. I never looked into it because it’s probably only a thing in bigger/more populated areas but it may be worth seeing if they exist in your area.
  • @jackdetroit That’s so frustrating, I’m sorry!  I have no other advice, just solidarity with not having reliable family around.
  • @jackdetroit maybe when you just get to the 5 kid stage, what’s 3 more? 😂 But for real, I’m so glad she’s willing to step in and help and take some of this stress off of you!
  • @skc040512 That's basically what she said. Plus her last 3 are age wise similar to my 3 so they all have a blast. And she lives super close!

  • @jackdetroit oh good! I'm happy you were able to get it figured out so quickly.
