yes to the nail trimmer/buffer/whatever you call it on the right hand side! I was terrified to cut DD’s nails when she was super tiny so this was a life saver.
I tried the Frida snot sucker once and I think there was a part missing or something because I didn’t get any suction 😆 definitely going to try it again this time around though.
I liked the Frida rectal thermometer. Very quick thankfully since squirmy babies are almost impossible to keep something in there for that long haha.
The only thing I immediately think of for this subject is a motorized nasal aspirator. Nose Frida definitely works great but for those not comfortable with the snot straw, battery powered is the way to go
Cutting finger nails are so stressful!! We had the Frida baby clippers and those are great. Same as the nail file.
Did not love the Frida snot sucker. Completely traumatized DD. Still can't use it.
We just used the thermometers the NICU gave us lol, and measured under the arm pit every time. Never did rectal. We have a forehead one and its mediocre.
What I don't see included is infant meds! I think you can only use Tylenol for a while. But good to have infant Tylenol on hand, as well as children's Benadryl (obviously consult your doctor for dosage/appropriate use). And make sure you're buying infant versions, I've heard that some children's formulas may be a different concentration? So you definitely don't want to switch them.
+1 to the nose snot sucker! That thing worked like a charm until age 2 and then we had to teach DD how to blow her own nose.
To this day my hubs is the only one that can cut her fingernails. I’ll think it’s safe to assume he will own mail duty for this one as well. He uses the basic silver adult clippers though. He says they are easier to manage.
The hospital gave us a thermometer and a bulb syringe (we never really used the bulb, I used the Frida snot sucker). I am a big fan on the super classic rectal thermometer for newborns because it is supposedly the most accurate. We had a forehead thermometer and could never get the same read twice. It was very inconsistent. With newborns, their exact temp is very important so I appreciated the accuracy.
There’s a Frida health “kit” that comes with a snot sucker, nail clippers and file, gas relief, etc. I found it handy!
I second the baby meds. Better to have them on hand and not need them, than not have them and need them in a panic! Tylenol, Benadryl, gripe water. Those are the 3 I can think of off the top of my head.

I’ll add iron and vit d drops for BF babies, our pedi gave us the first bottle at her 2 day weight/Bili check appointment, but I’m not sure if it’s it’s standard for them to give you one everywhere.
Also probiotic drops. I used Gerber Soothe for both and they helped with a variety of tummy/gas/pooping issues.
Vitamin D drops as well, for those who will BF/pump!
Definitely need to get probiotic drops since I'm pretty sure I'm getting antibiotics in labor (already GBS +). Think they'll let me use in the hospital?
Yes! Another good addition. I’m adding things to my grocery list lol. I think they’ll let you use them in hospital, especially if you’re getting antibiotics. It was recommended to us by a pediatrician to use probiotics to balance things after our baby needed antibiotics.
