1st Trimester

Decreasing symptoms

Hi there, I believe I’m about 4 weeks along. This is my second pregnancy, my first ending in a loss at 8 weeks. My periods are irregular so I’m not entirely sure when I ovulated this month, but I had a random day of nausea and my nipples were super sore Saturday night. I took a test Sunday and it was positive - a little faint and showed up after about 30 seconds. As the week has gone on, my boobs have been less and less sore. I’m getting a little worried because last time when my symptoms started going away, it was likely because I lost the baby. I’m wondering if it’s normal to have symptoms not a strong as a previous pregnancy or symptoms that come and go/dissipate a little early on.

PS. I’ve been on a topical progesterone for 2-3 weeks to try to help regulate my periods, so I wasn’t sure if that would have any affect on my symptoms.

Re: Decreasing symptoms

  • You missed a period.  That's a symptom.  The others have no bearing on whether the pregnancy is viable or not.  TW: I've had 6 miscarriages and I have 3 living kids,  in all 9 of my pregnancies, my symptoms were never the same.  Just relax,  you're pregnant,  enjoy it.

To answer your question, yes every pregnancy can be different when it comes to early symptoms. This is my third baby and each one was totally different. My first, I had the most painful breasts for weeks. I could barely wear a bra and was miserable. I became nauseous around week 7.

With my second, zero symptoms. Not even sore breasts. Nothing for weeks. Then I just got really fatigued and that was my main symptom. I didn't feel pregnant at all! TW: Then I started bleeding at 8 weeks but all was fine and now she's almost 3 years old.

Now with my third, even though I'm only 4 weeks along, I only feel bloated. My breasts aren't very sore at all. Things in the beginning are slow, usually real symptoms don't hit until 6-8 weeks so stay calm, if possible. Symptoms can be a comfort sometimes, but they aren't the determining factor in a healthy pregnancy.
