Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: I’m 22 weeks 5 days :) est due date is June 16 but i’m expecting her to be born earlier than that
FTM/STM/TTM+: i’m a first time mom and NERVOUS
Upcoming Appointments or Results: I have an appointment on Wednesday to do my GD test
How are you feeling?: Good, i’m still working until i get to the third trimester so i’m so tired and i can’t take cat naps until i’m off work. i’ve been doing prenatal workouts and i love them, will probably continue when i’m postpartum too
Rants/Raves: only rant i have is my hospital being back and forth with the policy, first they said i can have TWO support persons and now they’re saying only ONE but i’m 20 years old about to give birth to my first baby unmedicated, i need my mommy. They also told me I can labor and give birth in the tub but now they’re saying i can only labor in the tub and have to move to the bed to give birth.
Questions: What did you all put on your registry for your first girl. i’m not sure if i have everything i need.
Sorry to post and ghost last week. Once I got into vacation mode I pretty much abandoned my phone and unplugged.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: June 25th/ 21w2d
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Next Wednesday
How are you feeling?: Meh. I’m experiencing a lot of lower abdominal discomfort. I teeter back and forth between thinking, “This is normal pregnancy pains” and “There’s no way this is normal!” It’s just such a strange feeling and I can’t tell if I’m supposed to push through it or rest until it’s gone. Also struggling with nausea again. Hoping this gets better once I’m eating home cooked food again.
Rants/Raves: Vacation was great but also really physically taxing. I’m surprised how limited I’ve gotten. I cried several times throughout the trip just from being in pain and exhausted. I’m really glad to be back in my own bed.
Questions: Anyone else getting irrationally angry at all the apps saying this is the time you feel your best during pregnancy? Like who is feeling great right now and how are you doing it.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: I have my glucose test next week
How are you feeling?: I'm feeling pretty good. I am starting to get nauseous when eating normal meals so having to go to snacking all day which usually leads to unhealthy options
Rants/Raves: Just a little rant on how crazy life has been lately. I have tried to pop in here the past couple weeks but just haven't had the time to catch up so I'm sorry. I hope you ladies are all doing well. My husband had covid and then me and my daughter got sick but tested negative for covid 4 times. Once I finally get back to work my boss had literally lost her mind again. Which means I have to do all her work and try to catch up on mine. Last monday during the day she literally left and disappeared no one knew where she was not even her husband. We finally heard from her on Thursday and she called us to resign. Thankful I don't have to deal with her anymore but not we are short staffed and upper management doesn't plan to hire anyone to replace her they want to work me into that role after baby comes... I had planned to actually be a SAHM after baby but now idk.. the pay increase is hard to pass up on. Sorry I know that was alot but everything has been so crazy. Hoping to be more active on here again.
Questions:
@happyhippiemamae I can't get an answer from my hospital on how many people... they just tell me it changes everyday... @pinkkillersheep I'm sorry your in so much pain. I would always lean on the side of caution and speak to my doctor about it. I generally try to take it easy if i'm having abdomen pain. Hope you can get some relief soon.
@ournextadventure sorry about your boss, that sounds terrible. as for being a sahm maybe you can ask your management to give you a leave of absence and come back when you’re ready, that’s what i’m doing once my baby is a year old.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: June 13 / 23 weeks today!
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: glucose test next week, maybe if I start eating super healthy right now I can pass? lol
How are you feeling?: I've been having some pretty bad lower back pain but I started seeing a physical therapist so I'm hopeful I can work through it. Ice and low heat helps.
Rants/Raves: Raves - I drove all over looking for Girl Scouts selling their cookies yesterday and found some - baby and I are very happy about that Also her kicks/punches/dances are getting stronger and it's so cool.
Questions: not atm.
@happyhippiemamae what prenatal workouts are you doing? Are they online somewhere?
@ournextadventure I am sorry it has been stressful at work but also Congrats on the future promotion - that must be flattering! Do you have to make a decision right now or can you wait a while to weigh your options? Can you still take some time off for you and baby and maybe go back part time at first?
@pinkkillersheep I think I had similar abdominal pain to what you're describing around the same time (I'm at 23 wks and it's subsided a lot). I'm also a FTM, and I kept thinking on one hand this makes sense - it feels like my uterus is being stretched painfully and maybe it's RLP or maybe it's even like some painful gas bubble bc it would be a dull ache down my thigh sometimes - but on the other hand, all I wanted to do was curl up in a ball and I thought this can't be normal! But it never lasted more than like 10-15 minutes at a time so I never did anything about it. But I agree that there is no downside to calling your OB if you're concerned even in the slightest. I also have been shocked lately at how less mobile and active I am now - I was definitely not as active as it sounds like you were, but I keep thinking I can't be moving this slowly already, but then I'm like why not? Maybe we are supposed to be slowing down after the halfway point. Makes sense. We gotta listen to our bodies and be gentle with ourselves.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: 24 week checkup on 2/28
How are you feeling?: I feel good other than occasional back pain.
Rants/Raves: every grocery store in my town was out of water chestnuts this weekend so my spinach dip did not have the crunchy bits in which made me cry. That’s how my life is going. Minor inconvenience make me cry.
Questions: do I have to do this stupid glucose test? Like I know it’s highly recommended but ew I just can’t do it. I’m going to anyways, but I just can’t.
@happyhippiemamae My registry is essentially all of the things that are on the regular registry checklists, but products that fit my specific style
@pinkkillersheep I’m not even looking at the apps anymore because I can’t. Not only are the baby size comparisons bullshit. Like don’t tell me a coconut is longer than a banana. But I don’t want to hear about my pregnancy glow. I pee when I sneeze, I’m not glowing. I’m hating the fact that I dislike being pregnant so much this time around and the apps just make me feel worse about it.
@shoarmie99 haha i said the same thing for my glucose test, i have been loving junk food lately so i’m nervous. and i’m using the app fiton. and they have a section for pre and post natal workouts. my favorite trainer is Maddy.
@marionberry19 ugh i feel the same way about my glucose test. i’ve been told if they let you choose which one to drink pick the lemon lime flavor, apparently it tastes like la croix. and i feel you on crying over minor inconveniences, i cried because i wanted chick-fil-a but they were closed haha
Upcoming Appointments or Results: nothing until March 3rd
How are you feeling?: Pretty great most of the time. I have the occasional bought of lightheadedness and had some back pain kick in this weekend. Today I have a killer headache.
Rants/Raves: Rant: Sex is officially impossible for me to enjoy at this point. Rave: I got a massage this weekend and it was glorious! Also, an unexpected perk was figuring out the type of pillow I need to sleep with from the massage table set up so I ordered an oversized lumbar support pillow to be a body pillow. Hoping it's enough support for my legs and my belly.
Questions:
To everyone worried about the glucose test my doctor told me after I failed my one hour test with my first babe you need to eat a low carb breakfast (or whatever meal) an hour before your appointment. I rolled into mine after having a latte and failed. She also said you can tell if you're going to pass it cause you'll feel a little bit like ass. The three hour test was straight up torture. I thought I was going to die.
@pinkkillersheep sorry you're still feeling so uncomfortable and in pain.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Anatomy scan this week, finally! Glucose test in 3 weeks
How are you feeling?: Not sure if my congestion is pregnancy-related or something else. DH was congested also and was diagnosed with an ear infection, so now I'm wondering same for myself. If it doesn't get better in a few days, I'll go get it checked out I guess.
Rants/Raves: Rave - guess I'll start with the good. Baby is really active, we joke that he's already a foodie and very hungry because he moves most after I eat. Rant - I know I shouldn't be shocked at how more tired these days, but I don't remember being THIS tired in the 2nd tri first or second time around. This weekend my parents had the kids for a few hours, so I took advantage of the alone time to organize things around the house, re-sort all their clothing, do multiple loads of laundry. I was SO winded after like 2 hours, I could barely stand on my feet while making lunch. Legit felt like I could collapse. Makes me feel like I won't be able to move by the time 3rd trimester comes around.
Questions: might be TMI or a rhetorical question, but how is anyone keeping the romance alive, so to speak, these days? I can't be bothered with anything and I feel bad. But I'm SO uncomfortable most days and the last thing I want when I crawl into bed at night is to be touched.
@happyhippiemamae I don't know what's currently on your registry, but my rule of thumb was to put less or no clothing and put more essentials, big items, etc. People tend to go the clothing route when they don't know what to get. Also, you can google registry must-haves.
@pinkkillersheep So nice you were able to disconnect during your vacation! LOL, yea the feeling your best 2nd tri is the "expected" but not the case for me this time around either. I'm the over-panic type, so I call the doctor whenever I have doubt anything feels abnormal.
@ournextadventure that's a tough one about hoping to stay at home but also it's nice they want you to step into your boss' role. Can you take the new role now and then decide what you want to do once you go out on leave?
@shoarmie99 I know people who do that for their glucose test. My friend said she passed hers because she had a salad for lunch to offset the ice cream from the day before lol. My OB has always said not to make any dramatic changes though, just not to eat heavy carbs the day before/same day. I've still failed the 1 hour test each time and had to do the dreaded 3 hour one. Bleh.
@marionberry19 I hear you on crying for no reason. The joys of pregnancy! Hope that glucose test won't be so bad for you!

@KFrob I just got a whole instruction sheet from my doctor. So my test is at 3:30 pm, he said I can have a low carb/low sugar breakfast and then stop eating 3 hours before the test (so nothing post 12:30 pm). IF I get super hungry before the drink (which I need to drink at 2:30 pm), he said I can have a little big of protein, but no carbs and no sugar at all.

@happyhippiemamae and @Tulips29 yup, no fasting here. I just googled since I was curious on the stance for fasting and Mayo Clinic says no fasting also. Maybe there’s different types of tests?
@marionberry19 I’m almost there too. I seem to be stuck in a positive feed back loop where I want it, we try, 13 positions later and me frustrated we’re done and I cry bc I just want to enjoy it but don’t. It’s awesome. The first kid I don’t think we had any problems. Each kid it’s gotten a little worse.
@marionberry19 please save some for me too! This is my question of the week because I have no idea how anyone is able to have a sex drive. I feel I don’t even have energy for affection left in me
@KFrob I commend you for even trying. We “tried” the other day and I couldn’t get comfortable.

@happyhippiemamae Make sure you check out the thread with must haves! I’ve been avoiding my registry but my general plan is to put things on it that people around me have said they’re glad they had right away. @ournextadventure I’m with you on nausea suddenly being back. Really really dumb. And that’s wild about your boss. I mean I’m not surprised because a lot of people are at the end of their rope, but I’m sorry it caused you to bear the burden of the work. What a compliment you’re next in line though! Good luck with what you decide for post-pregnancy. I know you’ll do what’s right for you, whatever that is. @shoarmie99 Hope the physical therapist helps with your back pain. I’m expecting my back to start flaring up any time now. Glad to hear your abdominal pain subsided! Maybe I just need to give it a little time. @marionberry19 The food comparisons have gotten me this whole time. An olive? Do you know how variable in size olives are? It’s like a full order of magnitude! Just ridiculous. @KFrob Boo at sex no longer being enjoyable. We’ve been pretty hit or miss. But prenatal massage sounds wonderful! @Tulips29 The one time we tried at home it was…not great… But vacation sex went pretty well. It’s difficult because I feel large and unattractive but DH has been trying very hard to help me feel desirable. I think just mentally committing to trying even if I’m not totally feeling it is about the best I’m going to achieve. @mamaheidy2 Sorry your husband isn’t being cooperative, that makes me sad for you.
@KFrob well now i want to ask my doctor what’s the deal? luckily my appointment is at 9:30am so i probably wouldn’t have been eating anyways but it’s still unfair :(
@mamaheidy2 i feel like i’m ok with my sex drive, it’s a little lower than it was before but mostly because i’m asleep soon as i hit the bed lol. my boyfriend on the other hand, idk he might have a little secret fetish or something because his sex drive is higher than ever.
@ournextadventure Congratulations on the new position, if you decide to accept it. I had gotten a promotion right before maternity leave and did not want to pass up the opportunity. I ended up working six months, and at first liked it but was missing my DD too much, so I became a SAHM.
@marionberry19 I don't care to take the glucose test either. I don't even feel like going to the next appointment since it is just a heartbeat check, but I think I pick up my drink for my glucose test. I end up crying for various reasons as well. One was because I was trying to get an appointment for Saturday but every place was closed on the weekend. Finally, found a place.
@KFrob I ended up getting the Casper Pillow from Costco and like it so far. I'm glad your massage with well. I want a massage because it helped with my sciatica last time.
@Tulips29 Glad you brought this up. My drive has been low especially since I started feeling movement.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: June 9th/ 23 weeks 4 days
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Next week
How are you feeling?: Sciatica, acid reflux
Rants/Raves: I have a lot of things I want to organize or get rid of, but haven't had the energy. I was recording the Bachelor to watch later on my DVR, but it said recording unavailable, so it didn't record. Will check it out on Hulu tomorrow.
@romeoandjuliet146 I’m glad you like the pillow so far!! This was my first prenatal massage and I feel like it helped so much mentally and physically I ended up signing up for the membership to get one once a month. I expected DH to be like no way but he was on board. I hope you get one soon and it eases your sciatica.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Had Anatomy scan last week (all is well), have monthly check next week
How are you feeling?: Pretty good. Some new back soreness as my center of gravity shifts but other than that, feeling pretty good.
Rants/Raves: Rants: So frustrated by my mother at the moment. She rolled her eyes at my top name choice and then when I told her I did not ask for her opinion (I was not speaking to her nor soliciting any opinions) she became irate and pouted for like two days. This is also on the heels of her telling me what furniture I need where and that I'll "have to move upstairs and sleep in the baby's room" instead of the plan my husband and I had worked out to have baby sleep in our room (the rooms are literally a couple minute walk apart on different floors). She's generally pretty supportive but I've found all of her opinions very frustrating and unhelpful since they have been unsolicited and she insinuates I'm wrong and she's right if I do something a different way than she would. Additional rant: MFM wants to see me monthly then weekly for growth checks because I have a (well-controlled) autoimmune condition. I also have to go back in a month for a fetal echo because of a family history of heart issues. Has anyone else had to do either? I feel like I'm single-handedly paying for someone's boat because my OB did not mention this as a possibility. Raves: spent a long weekend on Kiawah Island with my best friend and her family and it was perfection. Such a nice break!
@hillies22 I haven't had to do the extra checks, but I feel like pregnancy in general is paying for someone else's boat. I'm still paying off the hospital bill from my last baby. My favorite bill is the extra room charge for the baby that rooms in with you.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: had one today with not my normal OB, but what was nice was she was the on-call doc when I called in on Friday with severe abdominal pain. So I was able to talk to her about that. Have the glucose test and an additional check up ultrasound in a month.
How are you feeling?: my blood pressure is way lower than it was last pregnancy so I don’t feel nearly as bad or as swollen there. I have a lot more shooting pains and lightning crotch 😑 this time around. Do not recommend.
Rants/Raves: rant - my day job is problematic; rave - my business is going great (but still not enough for me to quit my day job 😆) Also baby specific rant, how is this dude so big already?!? You can’t be up in my ribs this soon because that’s all the room I have. Ugh.
Questions: nope
@hillies22 I have to get extra checks too. And I did the last time, but I don’t go to a MFM.
And sigh about your mother. My mom has done all of those things too. I know it makes everything so much harder. And just sucks some of the fun out of it!! My advice, based on what I wish I did, would be to go with your gut. You know what’s best for you. I didn’t listen to myself as much as I should’ve last time and it still irritates me.
@mamaheidi@marionberry19@KFrob my sex drive is fine but my husband can't ever seen to finish once I'm visibly pregnant, either with my first pregnancy or this one. He's worried he's going to hurt the baby, but I'm just over here feeling like something is wrong with me and it's not a turn on for either of us at all. We already struggle a bit after infertility issues for both pregnancies that tend to turn it into more of a "job" for both of us, so there's that.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: EDD June 10th, 23w4d
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Had my MFM check in today. All is well with mommy and baby! OBGYN appt Thursday.
How are you feeling?: Generally ok but sciatica is bothering me way more than I remember last time around. +1 with sleeping issues due to congestion and dry nasal passages.
Rants/Raves: I kind of feel like my boss is bribing me to return to work after maternity leave. I do feel fortunate because so many people are faced with the opposite situation where they are penalized for having kids or being a mom, but it still leaves me feeling a little icky, like I have something I might not deserve. I won an award of excellence over 17,000 of my coworkers that was broadcast live over an all company meeting this year, so I definitely kicked some butt, but I already was promoted to senior management in April which came with the standard 10% raise. Now my boss is not only giving me 153% of the $$$ bonus I expected to get, but also a 9.5% raise, so essentially another promotion without the title as that is literally impossible to do in back to back years at my company. It's great and I'm grateful, but I guess I feel better about accomplishments when I don't feel like they are being rewarded by incentivizing my return from maternity leave...
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Monthly check ups and ultrasounds. Next OB appointment is the diabetes test, so I should probably eat a little healthier.
How are you feeling?: Muscle aches from sleeping being so uncomfortable. Occasional round ligament pain. Heartburn - which is entirely to blame on my baby and has nothing to do with the hot wings and potato chips leftover from superbowl Sunday.
Rants/Raves: Been home since Friday as L1's daycare shut down for a COVID case and we had to wait to test her/take care of her. Luckily we've got negative tests so tomorrow and Friday we have grandparent care and I can catch up on my job.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Glucose test on the March 2nd. Thanks for the tips @KFrob!
How are you feeling?: Generally pretty good! I have a good amount of energy to get done what I need to and want to. Workout at least 3 days a week. I enjoy baby moving more. I feel like I don't have EXTRA energy and my feet start hurting if I have too much I need to get done on them. But no back pain as of yet and I love the way I look in my pregnancy dresses! Acid reflux IS making me throw up a little when I bend over or Squat down sometimes. Got to put my shoes on FAST!
Rants/Raves: I have started to get nausea in the middle of the night again and if I'm on the toilet for too long I start to get light headed. Found out from my mom and my sister that passing out during pregnancy runs in our family, so my scare was immediately laughable to them (that made me upset, have a little sympathy first!). Rave: My husband took me out to a nice Bistro for Valentine's Day. We like dressing up and matching outfits so we went home with free dessert for being the cutest Valentines! Rant: sex has been hard for us too. I have sex drive but my partner is turned on by skinny... I'm no longer skinny. We've found one position that works for him but it is uncomfortable for me. So that makes me... more comfortable with self pleasure.
@hillies22 I also am in monthly and then weekly for the last month. I was told it's because it's my first pregnancy and I'm 36. I just got a new job when we found out that we were expecting so I was able to choose the health coverage that had the most coverage. It's only been costing me $25 per visit. Downside was that we didn't get to check on the baby till the first trimester was about done!
@happyhippiemamae Yay workouts! I love my 10 Minute Solutions Prenatal Palates video my favorite! I workout in a home gym now and have to get creative with cardio but it has been great to keep moving and feel capable and powerful.
Questions: Anyone else having trouble figuring out if they're hungry, have to go pee, nauseous or anxious in the middle of the night? I just feel generally uncomfortable and can't sleep but don't know what to do to take care of it. Once I stand up I know right away if I have to go pee. But once I'm up it feels like giving up on sleeping for a few hours.

FTM/STM/TTM+: 4th
@ournextadventure congrats on the maybe new position!
@marionberry19 something like that would totally make me cry
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

How are you feeling?: Good for the most part. Just dealing with congestion that never seems to leave.
Rants/Raves: my sex drive has been over the roof and hubby seems to not be as interested cus I’m pregnant… I get it, but it really annoys me.

Questions: not at the moment.
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Glucose test on the March 2nd.
Thanks for the tips @KFrob!
How are you feeling?:
Generally pretty good!
Rants/Raves:
I have started to get nausea in the middle of the night again and if I'm on the toilet for too long I start to get light headed.
Questions:
Anyone else having trouble figuring out if they're hungry, have to go pee, nauseous or anxious in the middle of the night? I just feel generally uncomfortable and can't sleep but don't know what to do to take care of it. Once I stand up I know right away if I have to go pee. But once I'm up it feels like giving up on sleeping for a few hours.
