What are your goals this week? This week I want to walk on my treadmill for at least a mile 3x and do strength training following the treadmill 3x. This 3x a week goal is working for me right now because I generally work 3 days a week and those days I don't work out since they're longer days. Then I get one day where I don't work out or work.
How are you working to achieve that goal? I have been prioritizing me and using the time to listen to a book. I generally did YouTube videos but this is working well for me and I'm going to try to keep it up. I think being able to listen to my book is helpful.
What are you struggling with? Nausea after and toward the end of the workout.
Any tips or advice you'd like to share? Just that listening to audible is really improving my mood to workout.
GTKY: what is your favorite brand of workout wear? I like old navy, 90 degrees leggings.
Goals: work out consistently How I'm getting there: changed my strategy and choosing fun 30 minute rides. Trying to work in 10 minutes of arms and light weights or Barre too. Got 3 days in this week. Struggles: My husband is working to finish our basement, which is where the exercise equipment is located. While I'm just as excited as he is to get it done, I'd prefer to have my 30-45 minutes to myself down there without him pounding or drilling right beside me. Then sometimes I use it as an excuse to not workout or nap instead. Advice: just having something you enjoy doing makes all the difference. My output today wasn't great, but I had so much fun with the music and banter from the instructors. Favorite brand: I used to like Carrie Underwood's Calia from Dick's Sporting goods.
Two days shy of the 2nd trimester I'm finally feeling like I can handle it here!
What are your goals this week? 20 minute brisk walk (elevate heart rate slightly) 3x/week. (After 7 weeks of not moving at all I need to start slow). I'll try to get one of those walks outside, but with all the snow on the ground at least two are going to be walking in circles down the halls of the building where I work...
How are you working to achieve that goal? I'm going to try the podcast idea. If there's something I will only listen to during these walks, maybe that will motivate me to take them.
What are you struggling with? Making the time, but that isn't a pregnancy thing. I always struggle with making time for exercise during the semester
Any tips or advice you'd like to share? Nah
GTKY: what is your favorite brand of workout wear? Under Armor fits really well when I'm not pregnant. Pregnant I just have the Target maternity running capris and wear huge t-shirts 🤷♀️
Went on a couple walks this week and didn’t feel like I was going to pass out! I’d consider that a victory!
But the real test? Last night we went to a comedy show. We had to park in a parking garage, way up high. We knew it was going to take an hour to get out of there afterwards (at like 11:30pm, no thanks) so we left about 90 seconds before the show got out to beat the crowd back to the garage. We power walked so fast up hill and then booked it up the garage stairs and oh my gosh y’all, I was huffing and puffing so hard after that! But it worked and we got out of the garage before the crowd hit!
Question for those who don’t have a gym membership and have snow/ice out: What are your favorite ways to workout inside? I like Zumba on DVD, but am still struggling to do that or hula hooping with my non weighted hoop.😅
@meagan822 I do Sydney Cummings workout videos on YouTube. She is currently pregnant so she has been doing workouts that are appropriate for pregnancy.
What are your goals this week? Now that my energy is Finally starting to come back my goal has been to go to my regular CrossFit gym 2-3 times a week instead of the 1 I’ve been doing the past couple of months.
How are you working to achieve that goal? Mostly making sure I bring my gym bag to night shift so I don’t have an excuse to not go on my way home in the morning.
What are you struggling with? Energy. I’ve been exhausted and some days it is so dang hard to want to work out when I get off work. I have gym equipment at home too and when the weather is nice I really should be making myself go out to our shop and use it.
Any tips or advice you'd like to share? Have workout buddies! I love the folks at my CrossFit gym and there are several other pregnant ladies so the coaches are super well versed in helping us modify our workouts as needed.
GTKY: what is your favorite brand of workout wear? Lately I’ve found that my Fleo leggings stay up and over the belly the best, even during squats.
What kind of ab exercises is everyone doing?! I’m 15 weeks and finally have my energy back! I’ve been told to avoid my back, so al my workouts are modified now!
@brittylovely was it your ob that told you to avoid your back and if so, was that for a specific reason, or generally during pregnancy to avoid exercising on your back? I've still been doing pilates on my back regularly and thought it was fine, but interested in your response in case I'm accidentally doing something I'm not supposed to do!
