poor little girl can't poop

I feel so sorry for her!  She has pooped, but I swear they are like rocks.  We switched her formula last week to Gentlease, and she's having a rough time.  Now we're trying the Karo syrup to see if it will help.  Even the thermometer didn't work.  Her poor little face scrunches up in pain.  She cries, and so do I.  Plus, she's eating more often but less amount, and I've been up most of the night.   I'm so tired.  I hope she feels better soon!

  • Aww, poop problems are the worst!! We went through that for about a month. Here's hoping she gets to go soon.

  • Have you tried giving her an ounce or two of apple juice?  That always seemed to do the trick for Kyra when she was that little, and it was much less traumatizing for both of us than the thermometer.
  • i feel your pain. my dd was up groaning all night with gas or something.

    ?

my pedi actually suggested prune juice and water to get her going. haven'tn used yet since she does regularly poop except at night. i would check with your doctor on their thoughts.?

  • hello for my keilani i use the formula of simliac the orange or purple can and it works for my kid and i give her pear juice of 2oz of one oz of water and 1oz of pear juice  but at 3months and i read that shes barely a month so stratch the juice for now and try that so her poop wont be as hard as rock and of course if you do change her formula then pls call the peds im just giving you advice. try the website of www.similac.com. i used to use that brand  emframil that you mention and its not good to me my baby just was fussy all the time and was always hunger  so we switched to a different brand

  • I went through the exact same thing when my son was that old. We switched him to gentlease to but his poop stayed like that for a while. He got to where one day though, he didnt poop and was clearly uncomfortable. We tried the thermometer, and suppositories but they wouldnt stay in. (as gross as that may sound) He eventually went though....

My son recently got put on some medicine that makes him constipated and I tried the thermometer thing and gave him a few baby spoonfuls of applesauce (the baby food one). He went the next morning. I know your baby is young but I would give her a spoonful or two. Maybe that will help?
