June 2022 Moms

Re: FFFC 2/4

  • I woke up with terrible knee pain, like I can barely walk after sitting for a while. I don't usually try to get out of mommy responsibilities, but I fully intend to use my "injury" to have a more relaxing weekend hopefully.

  • I bought myself three pairs of earrings from an Etsy shop and haven’t told DH. I have never bought myself real jewelry before and DH buys me some really pretty stuff but it’s not stuff I would wear every day.
  • Someone commented on my belly today and I replied with “we don’t comment on other people’s bodies”. I don’t care if you think it’s cute or huge or tiny, your opinion on my body is not necessary.
  • @fluteling good for you! People need to learn boundaries.
  • This is probably suited for an unpopular opinion post but I’m too lazy to make one. I think it’s weird AF when people post genitalia ultrasound photos on the internet for strangers to look at. Like I understand it’s an ultrasound and it’s not showing much but that is your child’s genitals, why are we showing it to random people?
  • @marionberry19 Agreed, I would not post a pic like that. I saw that post this morning and thought it had to be a cord because whatever that was looked too big, but who knows.

I just don't care to reply to posts where the person just created an account so they can ask a question and then not stick around to get to know anyone.

I saw a post on another board this morning where a woman wondered if she was pregnant then posted the stuff that was on her toliet paper!

@fluteling What did the person say when you told them that? They definitely shouldn't be making comments like that.

@KFrob You deserve to treat yourself. The only jewelry I tend to wear is my wedding ring but it has felt tight recently.

@Tulips29 How are your knees now?

  • @romeoandjuliet146 yeah, I really wish people would quit responding to those kind of posts. Like please stop showing us that and asking us what we think. I think you should ask a doctor.
  • @marionberry19 @romeoandjuliet146 "Do you think this is a penis or an umbilical cord?" Honey, if the ultrasound technician didn't know, do you really think internet strangers who are most likely not ultrasound/medical experts would know??
  • @romeoandjuliet146 she said “well I meant it as a compliment” and I told her I don’t care. And I’m only 10 lbs short of where I was at full term last time and blah blah blah. She’s my coworker that was around when I was pregnant before. She should know better because I’ve told her the same things about not commenting on bodies. But people can’t help themselves.
This is also the person when she pressed me about why I wasn’t finding out gender when I told her we’re pretty sure it was a human, I then started telling her other animals. Because she wouldn’t let it goooooo.
  • @fluteling Ha, I love that response you gave her that you were pretty sure it was human!
  • @marionberry19 omg I hold myself back from responding something snarky each time I see one of those drive-by posts.

@fluteling LOL'ing at your response! It's a human! haha...when I was pregnant with #2, we showed our son an ultrasound as an "announcement" for him and asked what he thought it was. First thing he said was "it looks like a lion". Your response made me think back to that and have a good laugh.

@romeoandjuliet146 weirdly, my knee pain completely went away after 2 days. DH said it could be the crazy weather change and water retention, but I could barely walk it was so painful. And then poof, gone.
