Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Wednesday 2/2

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Re: TWW Wednesday 2/2

  • Month/Cycle: 16/13

    CD/DPO: 20/3?

    Timing: if O is correct, O-2, O-1, O

    Typical LP length: 11 days

    Testing: end of next week

R/R: I'm just plopping myself here. Finally got a temp spike today, but every other sign pointed to a weekend O, so I'm going to operate under the assumption that I ovulated Sunday unless proven otherwise. I'll edit it retroactively if I get my period later than I currently expect. In my non-TTC life, I'm halfway through the busy busy week, woo! Granted I have a busy weekend too, but hey, what can you do.

CS/Q: I discarded two temps that were taken when my room was unusually warm but it didn't really change FF's CH for the most part. I'm probably going to play with the detectors each morning and see what happens.

  • *lurking* @fantasyflyte yay you finally got some crosshairs! 👏👏👏
  • Month/Cycle: 25 / 23

    CD/DPO: 24 / 10

    Timing: -4, -2, 0

    Typical LP length: 13 days

Testing: probably not bc I'm already spotting.

R/R: Rant - We're supposed to get that lovely snow storm over the next 36 hours tonight and I really didn't want to do anything at work tomorrow but my PhD guy told me he wants to run some experiments tomorrow. Granted their simple, but I just wanted to do my normal end of week cleaning and listen to some podcasts. Rave - I'll be in southern FL deep sea fishing in 5 weeks and it is saving my sanity from the bleak snow weather.

CS/Q: Do you normally spot before your period? If so for how long? My RE said oh its fine, but I doubt it's fine since I can't seem to find anyone who does besides me.

  • @caseys02 I usually spot the day before my period starts, and usually for a day or two once the full flow ends. I'm pretty sure I've seen some other people mention it over the months.
  • @fantasyflyte thanks for the info. I start spotting about a week before my period starts then have a full 4-5 day period.

@caseys02 spotting before period is _NOT_ normal. It's most likely a sign of low progesterone. Have you ever had CD21 (blood test 7 days after ovulation) test done? If not, I would ask your OB for that. You will likely benefit from vaginal progesterone supplementation. Alternatively, if your doctor doesn't want to run a blood test (and given that you're heading into fertility treatments, it might be a moot point) you can use Proov tests to see where your progesterone is at. Look them up. This is what I used to determined I had low progesterone.

  • @caseys02 oh, yeah, I don't think spotting for that long is normal. Does your doctor realize how long you're spotting for before your period? I'd definitely push for bloodwork at the very least.
  • @acleverusername @fantasyflyte They know but said it was fine. I did not have blood work done but assumed I had a low progesterone and she said that adding progesterone would probably make things worse. I've never heard of Proov, I'll get some for next cycle and push for the supplementation.

  • @fantasyflyte I'm sorry your chart is giving you such trouble, but seems like you probably belong here? Hopefully anyway. Yay for halfway through the week!
@caseys02 We're supposed to get ice thanks to that storm. Yay. It doesn't seem like spotting that long would be normal, but I am also baffled as to why your RE thinks progesterone would make it worse? Very odd.

    Month/Cycle: 6/5 AL

    CD/DPO: 21/7

    Timing: good

Typical LP length: 12 + progesterone

    Testing: 2/7

R/R: We are expecting some fun freezing rain and ice tonight. I'm slated to be home the next two days anyway, so just hoping we don't lose power. Our Internet is currently out for non-weather reasons (they are supposed to come fix it tomorrow but that is seeming unlikely) so even with electricity we might be Little House on the Prarie-ing it entertainment-wise for a few more days, haha.

    CS/Q: Not today
