Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Monday 1/24

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

  • Month/Cycle: 2/2

    CD: 5

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPK

R/R: I am currently in isolation 😩 As a teacher, I’m always being directly exposed to the virus, so I pay attention and monitor symptoms. We have had a breakout in our team between students and teachers, and I started showing symptoms Saturday.

    TW: LO mentioned

DS also started showing symptoms. Apparently a symptom for littles is a rash on their cheeks. His started yesterday after we got tested, though he has shown cold symptoms since Saturday. We all had Covid December of 2020, so it’s not new to us, but it’s frustrating.

I had to take a sick day today since I don’t have results yet, and we got a snow day today! Hooray for not losing a sick day!!!!

    CS/Q: nothing yet.
  • @ejoseph16 ugh isolation is the worst, I'm sorry. I hope everyone feels better soon.

    Month/Cycle: 15/13

    CD: 11

WAYDTGKU: CBAD, IUI if insurance comes thru

R/R: I'm tired. I didn't sleep well last night. Had a good cry on my husband last night for reasons mentioned in the mental health thread, which was cathartic. Now I'm doing a long day on campus. Hoping to hear from the RE today about plans for this cycle.

  • @ejoseph16 Oh man, I hope that you all recover quickly.

@fantasyflyte Oof. I'm so sorry that your preauth isn't in yet and also all the rest of the stuff you're dealing with. I'm sending a hug and I hope that you take good care of yourself this week.

    Month/Cycle: 5/6

    CD: 13

    WAYDTGKU: BBT, OPKs, vitamins

R/R: Nothing too exciting over here. Just trying to get my week in order and start off with purpose. I have a pleasantly meeting-free week so I hope I can capitalize on it.

CS/Q: Not really. Chart is looking good. Had an almost-positive OPK today so I'll test again later and see where I stand. I'll probably be here another day or two but we'll see.
  • @ejoseph16 Glad you didn't have to take a sick day, but boo to being sick!
@fantasyflyte I'm glad your DH could be a good support for you. Fingers crossed that you hear back from both your RE and insurance company soon!
@Paturkey Super jealous of your meeting-free week. Hope it stays that way!

    Month/Cycle: 5/5 AL

    CD: 12

    WAYDTGKU: vitamins, CoQ10, progesterone, OPKs

R/R: I went to a weight training class this week and holy cow are my muscles complaining about it today! Hoping to make it a weekly thing to complement the walking/jogging I've been trying to do. My work is a little crazy this week, so I maybe on more lurker status later in the week.

    CS/Q: Not today
  • @ejoseph16 do you know what strain of Covid you had in December? I know that there are ppl who had Delta that also ended up getting Omicron, but I haven't yet heard of ppl getting Omicron twice.
@fantasyflyte I love crying it out with my husband (where I cry and he listens and consoles). I hope you feel better.
@Paturkey Enjoy your meeting free week. That will never happen to me (unless I "take vacation" but actually work in secret.)
@abjm0325 your lurking is always welcomed.

    Month/Cycle: 24/19/2AL

    CD: 3

WAYDTGKU: everything + added TCM herbs

R/R: I had my acupuncturist appointment on Friday and expressed desire to try some Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) herbs for the next couple of months to really clear things out before my transfer (or, you know, if we get KUs 'spontaneously'). The plan is that I take 1 herb CD1-3, another herb, CD4-13, another one CD14-18, and then finally a fourth from CD19-33 (or whenever my cycle ends). Anyways, the first herb is meant to get the blow flowing and really get rid of the old blood and let me tell you.... it WORKS. I had a massive bleed day yesterday (CD2)... my menstrual cup overflowed 2x during the day, and I had to empty it 4 times in total. This never happened. I also noticed my blood was a lot less clotty than normally. Anyways, I'm excited to see how this plays out.

    CS/Q: Nope.

  • @acleverusername I had the original strand in December of 2020, so it was over a year ago. This time I do have omicron. I got my positive result this afternoon 😩 at least I’m already on day 3 of isolation… just 2 more days to go! The herbs sound interesting! I’ll be interested in seeing how that works out!

@fantasyflyte sometimes just crying it out uncontrollably is the best therapy there is. Hugs 🙏🏻

@Paturkey hooray for your almost positive OPK!

@abjm0325 lurk away! I understand the busy week thing!
  • @abjm0325 Nice work on the weight training! I've got to get myself in gear so maybe I'll use you as inspiration. Hope you make it through the crazy week in one peice!

@acleverusername Sounds like some very interesting herbs you have; I hope that they work well for you! I also hope that everything is going well with the move!

@ejoseph16 Sorry your covid has been confirmed but at least you're halfway through isolation...
  • @acleverusername That herb regiment sounds really interesting. Hope you continue to see promising results. Do you mind sharing what herbs you are taking and how you decided on the ones you did?
  • edited January 2022
@Paturkey thanks for asking about the move! It's going well so far; the real hard work will be this coming weekend.
@ejoseph16 totally read Dec 2020 as Dec 2021; it's like the last 2 years never happened. I"m sorry you've got a positive confirmation again; but like you said, only 2 more days!

@abjm0325 Oh, I don't mind sharing but this might seem like mumbo-jumbo. I've been spending the past few days researching and learning more about TCM. Here are the herbs I'm taking and what they're mean to do (they were chosen by my acupuncturist/herbalist based on my Eastern medicine diagnosis; there is no parallel to Western medicine diagnosis.)

Phase 1 - Tao Hong Si Wu Tang - CD1-3 >> supposed to invigorate and tonify blood; whatever that means. I'm guessing it means to get the blood moving and out of my uterus.

Phase 2 - Modified Zuo Gui Wan - CD 4-13 >> this one is to tonify my Qi and tonify blood; once again, unsure what that means, but supposedly it's to make sure the egg that grows is off good quality

Phase 3 - Modified Ou Dai Lian - CD 14-18 >> invigorates blood to release egg

Phase 4 - Modified Yon Gui Wan Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang  - CD 19-33 >> Tonify kidney; keep the body temperature high; support implantation

The Eastern medicine diagnosis comes from looking at my tongue and measuring my 7 pulses. I'm afraid I didn't listen all too well to my acupuncturist (it was A LOT of info), but I recall her saying something about low back pain (definitely have it) as well as sleep issues and digestion issues. She said I have a lot of heat in my lower abdomen. I hope that was helpful? At this point, I'm basically willing to try anything and everything since 2 years of doing the Western medicine thing hasn't really worked. Plus, it is a bit reassuring that I have embryos in the bank.
