My 19 month old has been having frequent tantrums these past 4 weeks, which I understand is part of her development. However, what's concerning is that she hits her head or will find an object to bang her head on while she tantrums. I've read The Bump article on strategies to assist toddlers with tantrums, but I really need to prevent my child from hitting her head when she's upset. This week she just started day care and her instructor shares the same concern about my child inflicting this type of "self-harm." Is there anything I can do? I really need help!
