What goals are you setting for this week? Really need to get back into walking everyday. It’s been cold and gross outside, but now we have a treadmill desk at work so hopefully I can make use of that.
Any victories you want to celebrate? I’m feeling good about starting a prenatal yoga class. I also successfully made a meal plan for the week and bought all the groceries on Sunday for it. Put together some peanut butter filled dates as my fiber + protein snack for the week.
Any struggles you need support on? My mood has been trash lately, I think mostly because I haven’t felt well for so long. I also really struggled going clothes shopping yesterday. My work out short have become too uncomfortable to continue wearing but I’m not big enough for maternity ones yet. But boy did I not need to see my body from six different angles in the dressing room
My healthy habits are basically nonexistent I feel. I bought yogurt. That's about as healthy as I'm getting. I need to get better but things have just been rough lately.
Goals: work out 5x this week. I just started the barre blend (beach body) workout program, I’m 19 weeks already but better late than never!
I woke up early this morning (aka before my 3 year old aka alarm clock), and worked out!
Struggles: yesterday I felt tired, sluggish and not up for working out, Plus my stomach was messed up for some reason. I feel like I already failed this week but then remembered I’m planning on taking weekends off from working out so I do still have 2 extra days to get it done. I’ve never really been one to workout this often but I’m exhausted and dreading now my labor is going to go if I don’t start now. Any advice on staying consistent? Waking up early seemed to help me this morning, but I also was so tired beforehand that I drank my normal coffee and was starting to feel a tad dizzy at the end of the workout. What do you normally eat before working out when pregnant?
What goals are you setting for this week? my goal is to get the gym 2 days a week and then 3 of the days i'm not at the gym either go for a long walk or do a yoga workout.
Any victories you want to celebrate? I managed to make it to the gym last week 3 times. I managed to run a mile and half which is better than what i thought but it became uncomfortable fast
Any struggles you need support on? I'm struggling mainly with food. I just want carbs and i don't want to cook. I'm too tired for that.
@ournextadventure I'm in the same boat when it comes to carbs and cooking. I love to cook, just so tired most days that I resort to easy meals, which unfortunately include carbs.
My small tiny win for the week was better grocery shopping. I loaded up on veggies and salads and my goal for the week is to have a salad each night for dinner with some protein and minimal carbs.
Question - anyone have a Peloton bike and can comment if it's worth it? Do you use it while pregnant? I used to love spin classes but haven't taken then in a while. Really want to get back to it and want to get a Peloton bike. I also keep seeing a similar bike at Costco for fraction of the price. Curious if the OG is really worth it.

@tulips29 one of my good friends had a peloton and i asked the same question. She said she loves it because of the monthly subscription but says its only worth it if that is your main form of exercise. she uses hers like an hour everyday. I wouldn't ever focus that much time on one type of workout so I don't think it would be my choice personally.
@bww_0331 I’m a big advocate for meeting yourself where you’re at. If eating yogurt is your goal for this week I think that’s great. @pinkdaisylove Good luck with the new exercise program! I’m terrible with self-accountability so I have a personal trainer. My only piece of advice would be to make sure your goals are achievable. If you’re just getting back into regular exercise, maybe starting with two or three days a week. Five is a great goal but I’d hate to see you get discouraged if other factors make it difficult to keep it up. I’m sensitive to coffee so I try not to drink it less than an hour before a work out (this was true before pregnancy and especially true now!). My go to breakfast right now is a knock off brand eggo waffle with peanut butter topping for protein. I don’t like the heavy feeling of food while working out so I use my one hour rule with food too.
@ournextadventure Congrats on getting a run in! I have no advice on carbs. They are perfect and easy and delicious. @Tulips29 I don’t have a Pelaton but the only person I know with one likes it, though I agree with @ournextadventure it’s worth it if it’s what you enjoy doing for exercise. I hate cardio but I have a spin bike (nothing fancy to it, just a manual bike) and am considering setting it up in front of a TV for to get some cardio in.
Is anyone here into weightlifting? If so, are you having to already modify and reduce weight? It’s been really discouraging to see myself compromise further away from my goals each week in response to how my body is feeling.
@pinkkillersheep I'm not a huge weightlifter but I normally do add an arm and a leg day to each week. I have had to go much lower on my squats for sure. My legs in general don't feel as strong but squats are uncomfortable. I have gone down in weights but I think its mainly because I took like two months off because of how sick I was.
@pinkdaisylove I somehow missed your post earlier. I think working out while pregnant is a great idea but give yourself grace. Non pregnant I generally go the gym 4 or 5 times a week and run 7 or 8 miles on the weekends. With pregnancy I am giving myself grace and having a goal of 2 days a week at gym and easy movements the rest of the week. In normal life to stay consistent I like to keep a journal. I love having a visual to see of my activity. It makes me not want to break the cycle. I generally eat very little before a workout. I've been eating a single piece of toast before my workouts in the morning to help with not getting sick but then after words I make a protein smoothie.
@Tulips29 I have a schwinn Ic4 and use the peloton app on my ipad ($12/month). It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but it works for me and I feel far less guilty not using it in the summer when I just want to be outside. I also use the app for the strength training workouts so there's more than just spinning at a much lower monthly/overall cost. Bonus is that since it's on the iPad, I can move the iPad and do the strength training wherever or cast it on the TV.
Thanks for all the advice everyone! I have been consistent 2 days this week already and feel great. Going from 0-1 days a week of being active to a goal of 5 is pretty lofty, I admit. For those of you who workout in the morning, do you usually drink coffee beforehand or skip it? I’m sure I should probably skip it, but im not a morning person naturally (and pregnancy makes this harder).
Apple watch users- what do you have your "move" goal set to for pregnancy? I mostly just want to get 30 minutes of exercise a day, so calories aren't something I'm obsessing about, but its kind of fun when you close all your rings in one day. Motivates me to keep going anyway
