I have a jujube backpack and I love it! Still use it for DD, even though she's 3 and there's not much in it except extra clothes, potty supplies, and bibs/entertainment for restaurants.
@karisahamdi two of my peeps that have had babies most recently have highly recommended the Freshly Picked bags and I’ve been eyeing them too! I also see a lot of people sing praises about the Itzy Ritzy!
I have one of the million grey backpack options from Amazon. I neither hate nor love it, but there’s a tear in it so I need to get a new one. It’s not like we stuff it full all the time other than the couple times we’ve traveled.
I have the skip hop duo messenger bag and loved the idea of all the pockets on the inside and outside. I quickly found out that you can only use the pockets OR the large open space on the inside, not both at the same time as there was not enough room.
I do love the skip hop pronto changing station. I used that and dropped it in my grail at purse when i got tired of the diaper bag
I have a Fawn Design diaper bag and the boxy backpack and a district backpack from Petunia Pickle Bottom. I like all of them for different reasons, but if I had to just pick one it would be the boxy backpack from PPB. I also had a similar one to the one in the photo above (without the baby changing thingy) and I did not like it.
We just use a regular laptop backpack 🤷🏼♀️. Lots of pockets. Picked up a small, reusable change table mat, soft refillable wipes container and a couple bottle insulators. Used it for our first 2 and it’s still going strong, so will use it again. It’s neither feminine nor masculine, so no problem for either myself or my husband to carry it.
I have the Miss Fong backpack diaper bag, I haven’t used it yet but it was gifted to me and I think I’m gonna really enjoy it. It’s “pleather” and seems to be really durable, I liked the idea of being able to wipe it clean! Definitely spacious with lots of storage/pockets. It’s also isn’t too feminine so my husband even likes it for the fact he is comfortable carrying it around hisself lol.
I had a messenger style bag with the first kid which is nice for slinging it back and forth to the car but I quickly realized I wanted a backpack style for actually carrying it around while carrying baby. With kid #2 I got a plain black fisher price backpack from Target, it is machine washable and I love it for that reason. It will definitely still get used. However this time I finally bought myself (on sale) the Jujube BFF I’ve been wanting for years. Also completely machine washable. You can’t imagine how much junk gets inside that bag and sometimes a surface wipe down just doesn’t cut it for me. This can be worn backpack OR messenger style.
@annashaf I think we are going in that direction. Since we have at least half a dozen backpacks laying around we really just need to stock one as a diaper bag.
I do have a diaper bag I love, it’s a JJ Cole bag I found at a thrift store a few years ago. We use it as a dog park bag- collapsible water dishes, balls, long leads, treats, poo bags. I’ve been considering using it as a diaper bag but it’s on the smaller side of typical diaper bags.
Is a good diaper bag something to put on your registry? What is a reasonable price point to shoot for?
@taylorharris0522 I have no idea on price point, that’s really what you’re comfortable with. Not sure about other places but you can choose an certain amount on Amazon to trigger group gifting so people can contribute to something’s that’s say $75 or over rather than buy the whole thing. Just saying that in case you did pick a pricier bag. I do think a diaper bag is a good thing to put on a registry, though!
@taylorharris0522 I'm fully in the mindset of "put all the things on the registry". Even if it's expensive, you'll either have people who want to go in together, a friend/family member feeling particularly generous, or you'll get it later with your completion discount.
I have a registry for this baby, and I barely need anything (stm), except for some really small items like new bottle nipples, and super expensive items (high chair/monitor). It's 100% for me to get my sh*t together and figure out what I need to get, plus the completion discount.
@pajamstagrams, that's a great idea to make the registry to get the completion discount. I had completely forgotten about that! And since this is our second child, I wasn't really counting on getting many gifts. I am in the market for a diaper bag, though. I had the black skip hop diaper backpack. It was fine but the stroller strap broke, which is why I want a new one. I want something different this time, but if I'm going to have to pay for it, I take don't want to spend hundreds of dollars... We've got a few pricey items we're going to have to replace so you know, gotta be mindful of that.
We just got a new one our old one went to hell and back some how. The one we got is basically the one in the opening post it has a phone charger also. I thought the bed in the back was a built in baby changer but no it has a mosquito net and everything.
Re: Product Spotlight: Diaper Bags
I also had a similar one to the one in the photo above (without the baby changing thingy) and I did not like it.
