Re: TFAS w/o 1/10

  • What number are you trying for? 3

    Month/Cycle? 6/6 2/2 AL

    WTO/TWW? TWW

    Ages of other child(ren)? 7 and 3

Any thoughts about this cycle? We weren't trying this cycle because we're prepping for FET so just WFAF.

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave? My oldest was remote from school for the past week so that was rough. I love when they're home for breaks but when she's home and I have to try and get her to do schoolwork it's awful. Plus all the estrogen has made me so impatient and cranky so that's just been making everything harder.

GTKY: What is your favorite piece of wisdom/advice to pass on to new moms? This is something I do all the time actually as an L&D nurse. I always tell moms to do what works for them and that what works for them may not be what works for someone else and that's okay. So breastfeed if you can, formula feed if you want, cosleep if that helps your kid actually sleep, etc. Basically don't let others judge you for your parenting choices and don't try to measure yourself up against the perfect Pinterest mom. In reality we're all just barely hanging on half the time.

  • @shortstack930 That is great advice!

What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 5/6AL

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 3

Any thoughts about this cycle? It's still early, so not really. As with all the others, I really hope this is the one!

Any questions? None at the moment

Rant/Rave? I am so glad that we are out of quarantine and getting back to normal. Last week with a sick 3 year old was torture. DS just didn't understand why we couldn't do anything because "I not sick". He was only hit with a high fever that lasted less than 24 hours so it was hard to explain to him. He's back to the babysitter and school so that it good. He really needs the structure, so I am very thankful for that.

GTKY: What is your favorite piece of wisdom/advice to pass on to new moms? Find your self a support group. There really is nothing like having people to lean on and commiserate with when you are in the thick of it all.

  • @shortstack930 That's exactly the advice that I give, too! Sorry about the homeschooling; it is brutal.

@tessiesmom26 I'm glad your son is out of isolation <3

What number are you trying for? 3 for me, 1 for SO

    Month/Cycle? 5/5

    WTO/TWW? TWW

    Ages of other child(ren)? 8 & 5

Any thoughts about this cycle? AF is due tomorrow and I was really hoping it would work out since we had our best timing this month but it looks like a no.

    Any questions? Nope.

Rant/Rave? My kids were with their dad for Christmas and I finally get them back on Friday. I can't wait!!!! Covid isolations extended their trip and it's been so long. My daughter (5) doesn't say she misses me, she says, "I miss your face." I'm just going to smother them with (consensual) cuddles when they get home <3

GTKY: What is your favorite piece of wisdom/advice to pass on to new moms? Same as @shortstack930 above: you can do this and however you do this is okay. It's gonna be all right. I'm here if you need me. For the pregnant ladies, my advice is always "Never leave somewhere with a bathroom without using it first." Pretend you're a toddler and always try to go even if you don't think you need to 😂
  • @shortstack930 Love that advice! Remote schooling seems pretty awful, but especially when you aren't feeling your best. Sending you hugs.
@tessiesmom26 It's so hard to explain the new "rules" around being sick to kids. I'm glad you all were able to get back into routine.

What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 5/4 AL

    WTO/TWW? WFAF

    Ages of other child(ren)? 4.5

Any thoughts about this cycle? Confirmed BFN, stopped progesterone and just WFAF

    Any questions? Not today

Rant/Rave? I am disappointed this cycle didn't work. I haven't been sleeping well and I think it's the continued anxiety of TTC and wondering how long we should keep trying/ wishing we started TFAS sooner. This whole process is awful and somedays I want to quit trying just so I don't have to dwell in this mental state any longer. But I know I would regret it, so here I stay.

GTKY: What is your favorite piece of wisdom/advice to pass on to new moms? Accept help (food/time/sleep) when people offer it. This was so hard for me, but when I permitted myself to let go a little and rely more on others I was much healthier and happier.
  • @Paturkey Oops, posted at the same time! I felt the same way about good timing this cycle. Makes the BFN a little tougher, I think. I love your pregnant lady advice!  :D

@abjm0325 Such good advice! Accepting help is huge. Sorry about the BFN and the disappointment of this cycle; you know I'm right there with you. I have now reached the point where if I do manage to get pregnant, this kid will be born when I'm 42. Yes, that's forty-two. Ugh.

*tried to edit the weird formatting but it seems beyond my control. **shrugs**
ETA: nevermind, I guess it worked 🤷‍♀️
  • @tessiesmom26 it is so hard to explain to a 3 year old that they need to quarantine!! Also (sorry if I've asked you before) were you on the October 18 BMB?

@Paturkey I can't imagine how hard it must be not seeing your littles for so long! That will be such a wonderful reunion for you all! Also, I love your bathroom advice--so true!!

@abjm0325 I'm so sorry this cycle didn't work out. I totally understand how you are feeling though. It is so hard to be in that mental space and just have to keep trying to power through when you just want a break. I can't wait till we are all on the other side of this.

@abjm0325 I am so sorry for your BFN. I know this was a hard cycle for you and I know how you feel. Just want to send you solidarity.

And count me in for nervousness/anxiety should I get pregnant again. I am anxiety ridden as is, never mind after the loss I had last year. I think it's inevitable.

@shortstack930 I was not on the October BMB but should have been. I was due Nov 2nd, so I did creep the O18 board, but I lived on Nov18. I had DS 3 weeks early (37w3d) so I ended up giving birth in October. You were O18 right? I think I remember seeing your SN there.

  • What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 1/1

    WTO/TWW? TWW

Ages of other child(ren)? 22 months (I refuse to accept that he’s almost 2!)

Any thoughts about this cycle? I’m benched, so no thoughts, just WFAF

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave? We officially have a dig date on our house! January 28 is the big day! That means we can get started next cycle as long as I get my meds changed over to being pregnancy safe. DS gave me hypertension, so have to get on proper meds! I’m glad I was so annoying with tracking my first round, I found the confidence in knowing that I truly do know when I’m ovulating, hence why I started all this already!

GTKY: What is your favorite piece of wisdom/advice to pass on to new moms? Definitely agree with @shortstack930 on sticking with what works for you. As a Covid momma, I really had to figure things out on my own. Lean on those around you that have kids and similar parenting philosophies and get a solid support system behind you. Be open and honest with yourself, and trust your partner. Don’t try to be a hero, let him help!

@shortstack930 oh no! Remote learning! 😩 as a teacher, I can only imagine being the parent in that situation! Glad you are out of that again!

@tessiesmom26 so glad you’re out of quarantine. I understand the whole needing structure thing. I feel like my days off with DS make me appreciate my sitter so much more.

@paturkey I love that your daughter says “I miss your face” 😆 so glad you’re getting them back. Im sure that was painfully long!

@abjm0325 I’m so sorry you’re having such a tough time TTC. I am so hopeful for you that things start to look up.
  • @ejoseph16 that's so exciting! I've always loved the idea of building a house and picking out everything but it also sounds super stressful. How long will it take to be finished? And re: remote learning--DH is a teacher also so I know it was super hard for the teachers as well! I appreciate teachers so much, it is something I could never have the patience for.

  • @shortstack930 well, this was a dream of ours when we got engaged. I moved into my husband’s house that he lived in with his ex wife. We live in a very small town where houses are really old and abused. So we bought the land in June, and signed with our builder in September. We dig January 28, and they said we should move in June or July. Supply chain issues are really plaguing the building process right now, but I’m really hoping for a June move in! Hit that 2nd trimester sweet spot if we conceive right away.
  • @ejoseph16 That's so exciting about your house! Fingers crossed the build will go smoothly.
  • @ejoseph16 that sounds like a pretty good timeline!!

AFM: just got notification that my 3 year old’s preschool substitute on Monday started having covid symptoms on Tuesday and then tested positive so now I have to monitor her for symptoms also  :(

  • What number are you trying for? 4

    Month/Cycle? 3/2

    WTO/TWW? WTO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 4.5g, 2.5b, 1b

Any thoughts about this cycle? I added coq10 yesterday, figured it couldn't hurt.

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave? Rant: My kids getting up in the middle of the night/early am makes bbt charting nearly impossible, not to mention the fatigue I feel. Last night was midnight - middle kid, 3 am - baby, 6 am - get up to get oldest ready for Pre-K.

GTKY: What is your favorite piece of wisdom/advice to pass on to new moms? When all else fails try water or fresh air or ideally both. A sip, a bath, a run through the sprinklers, whatever it takes to reset your frame of mind. And fresh air can even be just a change of scenery, go to another room.

@shortstack930 I am grateful that my big isn't in real school yet, nti is the worst of both worlds.

@tessiesmom26 amen to finding a group. There is nothing that compares to someone who is going through the same thing as you, and I don't care how close you are, family is not the same.

@Paturkey I'm sure Friday can't come soon enough!

@abjm0325 poor sleep is really tough, hopefully you are able to get some good rest now that all the routine disrupting holidays are over.

@ejoseph16 I'm excited to see future progress pics if your comfortable sharing.

  • @sejica I will absolutely share pics! I’m so excited to see it progress. I do live in the snow belt, so it’s likely that we will have snow storms interfere at first, but hopefully they can get the shell up quick then be able to work inside. I feel you on the BBT chart. DS is teething, so I’m up pretty frequently right now also. I can’t imagine having 3 already 😩

@shortstack930 Oh no! I hope she stays symptom free.

@sejicaI added in CoQ10 this week too. Here's hoping it helps! With just one kid I find temping too challenging, so kudos to you for even trying.

    Edited for spacing, grr
