    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: OB checkup tomorrow. Had my MFM appt last week and was put on vaginal progesterone pills until end of pregnancy to possibly help avoid pre-term labor. Not the worst, but just a bit of a nuisance to keep remembering to take the pill each night.

How are you feeling?: Tired, just so tired. I can barely keep my eyes open by mid-day, without even doing much. Heartburn is getting pretty bad also and just comes on randomly.

Rants/Raves: Rant - the heartburn. I hate it. Rave: My kids seem very excited about getting a sibling. My daughter keeps saying "mama has a baby in her belly" and my son has been super affectionate since we told them the news. He just randomly rubs my belly and gives me long hugs. I am loving every second of it.

Questions: Anyone has a bunk bed for their kids? I was anti-bunk bed since my kids are 2 and 5, but gave in to the idea to maximize the space in the room my kids will be sharing and ordered a bunk bed. Just worried about my son walking up and down the steps (we got a step one vs a ladder) in the middle of the night to use the bathroom or changing sheets up there easily...or having my daughter try to go up there. Any tips to make this transition easier are welcome!

How are you feeling?: I'm feeling pretty good. Energy is getting better.

Rants/Raves: Rant: my work has dropped the mask mandate... I am so upset. I put a sign on my office door saying mask are required but it still bothers me so much when covid is so rampant. I also work in a government building so we have people in and out constantly. I finally announced that I am pregnant so hoping people will respect that and be more careful around me.

Questions: None that I can think of now.

    Rants/Raves: I can’t stop peeing. I don’t enjoy this.

    Questions: none right now
  • @ournextadventure what state are you in that they did this during such a surge? I wouldn't let around around me without a mask either, pregnant or not. I hope people are respectful!

  • @Tulips29 we are a bunk bed family!  We got it when SD was 5.5 and DD1 was 2.5.  We also have one with stairs. The kids have always done fine with it.  I HATE changing the sheets. I try to make DH do it since he’s 6’6” and can reach the top easily, and then reach the far side of the bottom to tuck them in.  I can’t reach the far side without sitting in the bed and struggling to pull up the corner of the mattress.

How are you feeling?: horrible, but better than I have been. I’m so tired of being sick. I’ve been sick since early December. I still have a cough.

Rants/Raves: I called and left a message with my ob asking to get checked because I don’t feel well and I’ve been ill for so long. The nurse basically told me I’m dehydrated (I’m not) and then told me I should go to the emergency room if I’m short of breath. I told her there is no way I’m going to the emergency room right now (seriously?!? Right now??) unless the need is dire. I’ve been to urgent care three times in the past four weeks. I want someone to check on the small human I’m growing.
I called looking for reassurance. I certainly didn’t get it.

    Questions: nope
  • @KFrob the sheet changing is my biggest worry. DH is not concerned...said worst case we will keep a step stool in the closet for it. I hope he knows he'll be the one climbing up there. But glad to hear kids are doing well with it. I have irrational fears and thoughts sometimes, but hopefully I'll get over it once the bed is set up and kids get used to it.

@fluteling I'm sorry your OB is not being more helpful. Can they run blood tests to check all your levels? Do you have a primary doctor you can speak to about this as well? This is their main job, not to send you to the ER!

@tulips29 Georgia. No one around here really takes it seriously. Its crazy they dropped the mask mandate and since I have put the sign on my door (like only 6 hours) I have received at least 6 rude responses regarding it.

@fluteling i'm sorry about your OB. I would really question them for even suggesting the ER.
  • @ournextadventure and @fluteling I’m furious for both of you!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 6/13, 18weeks today

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Next week for anatomy scan.

How are you feeling?:  I felt so good while I was on vacation and now I'm back to feeling nauseous again lol.  Trying to hit the ground running career-wise this year, but so tired by about 2pm.  @Tulips29 I also hate the heartburn and it's gotten BAD.

Rants/Raves: I wish I could feel my baby move.  I thought I felt her once but then I thought it was just a twitch of a spasm.  I'm not sure exactly what to expect, but I can't wait.

Questions:  I have asthma, but I stopped taking my daily steroid inhaler when I found out I was pregnant even though they said it was better to take it.  Now I'm starting to feel a little short of breath and wonder if I should get back on it or if I should talk to my doctor about using an inhaler with less steroids?  Anyone else in this situation?

@ournextadventure I am sorry you're having to deal with that, I would think that you being pregnant would shut people up!~
@marionberry19 I am also peeing so frequently!  And also peeing a little bit every time I sneeze which really depresses me lol.  Constant changing pants and panties :) I don't think it should be this bad already!
@fluteling I'm glad you have an appt next week - I wish they would just bring you in quickly to see you and make sure everything is okay for peace of mind.  I'm so sorry you've been so sick!  Have you ever used a Doppler?  I don't have one and have heard mixed reports about them, but my friend offered to let me use hers to hear my baby's heartbeat because I always get anxious between appts, but I'm worried that maybe Dopplers are bad for babies?  Any opinions on that?  If not, maybe you could use one to get some peace of mind before next week?

How are you feeling?: Other than Covid, pregnancy related seems fine as long as I take B6+ Unisom.  Nothing really sounds good to eat but I'm hungry a lot.

How are you feeling?:  Physically good, emotionally not awesome

Rants/Raves: I have so much work to do today since I have the rest of the week off. I have no motivation to do it.

    Questions:
  • @fluteling so obnoxious to receive that response. Hoping you get some relief soon!

@ournextadventure dumbfounded about your government office eliminating the mask mandate, and even more dumbfounded for people making snarky comments.

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 18w, 3d / due June 10

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Regular OB check-in 1/17, anatomy scan 1/18

How are you feeling?: Pretty good but hit a wall and feel really tired around 4:30 every day. I get a second wind after I get my daughter down at night and wind up working and doing a bunch of other things rather than relaxing, so the next day I wind up feeling exhausted again. A vicious cycle!

Rants/Raves: Incredibly busy time of the year for me at work and our 3 year old's classroom has been closed for a week and will not reopen until 1/17. Praying she will be able to go back to school that day, and that she remains safe.

  • @Tulips29 I hear you on the lack of energy. That’s gotta be so fun watching the kids get excited for a sibling  :)
@ournextadventure Glad you’re feeling good! My older sister and her family are in Georgia too and has a hard time with how lax some people and places are with Covid. It’s really really difficult.
@fluteling I’m so sorry you’re not getting what you need from your OB’s office. Having trust in that relationship is so important.
@shoarmie99 I don’t have asthma, but I’m definitely suffering from being short of breath. I’ve had to slow waaaay down in my workouts. I think it would be worth you talking to your OB if you feel like you need a better option.
@bww_0331 That sounds really rough. I hope you all are hanging in there!
@kfrob Sorry you’re not feeling great emotionally. I hope your time off helps.
@idreamofginny My first wall is at like 2. I’m impressed you get a solid second wind and get stuff done!

Upcoming Appointments or Results: 1/26 for anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: Still recovering from a really rough day yesterday. Mentioned it in Randoms but I came down with food poisoning and spent the whole night vomiting.

Rants/Raves: I had to get a Covid test to go back to work tomorrow. While I’m sure it was food poisoning, I figured better to be honest with my employer since the OB had asked me to get tested when I called to explain my symptoms. Since I got the PCR test through my employer I should have the results this afternoon. Cautiously optimistic it’ll be fine. But my already tenuous relationship with food was made even worse by this whole ordeal. I had a cup of soup yesterday and only slightly more today. I have no interest in eating whatsoever, and I feel like if I force myself like I’ve been doing I’ll just end up sick again.

Questions: My bump is definitely smaller today. Does it make sense that dehydration and probably lack of bloating would mean it would go down?

@pinkkillersheep absolutely your bump will change in size due to bloating as well as the position of your organs when they’re being moved around by the growing uterus.

    Questions: Not really

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: monthly appt at end of month. Anatomy 2/7.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good. Burned out on COVID and the hospital I work at perpetually being in crisis. Sometimes I forget I'm pregnant given my lack of symptoms or physically showing at the moment.

Rants/Raves: Rant - Found out my husband will not be able to accompany me to Anatomy scan due to change in covid policy. The MFM office also doesn't allow any cell phone use, so he's pretty upset and I'm mad for him that he can't be a part of this in any way (hoping they make an exception for me to video call him). Raves - finally wearing my super comfy maternity work pants at the office today, mostly because I feel bloated today. Loving them though! Also, our state re-instated the indoor mask mandate because all of the hospitals are over capacity. Excited to not have to go grocery shopping at midnight!

    Questions: none
  • @Tulips29 My OB had me schedule every appointment through 32 weeks with her and the perinatologist!  I was so glad to do it because her schedule fills up so far in advance.  My anatomy scan is at 19w and I was worried that was too early but then I read it can be any time 18-22 weeks.  How far in advance can you schedule your appointments?
  • @Tulips29 anatomy scans are typically done between 18-22 weeks. Some doctors are super strict about it being right at the 20 week mark but not all. I had the option to do mine at 18 but opted for 20 because I’m tired of driving out of town so often.
  • @Tulips29 My ob’s office does the first prenatal visit between weeks 7 and 9. I ovulated late so I was actually there during week 6. She’s had me stick with scheduling every four weeks anyway since, so my anatomy scan ended up on week 18.
  • @Tulips29 min does it sort of between 18 and 20 weeks.  I’ll be 19w 3d when I get mine.  All my other babies I was just about 18 weeks.
  • @ournextadventure That would bother me especially now with omicron. I figured someone would say something rude to you. Sorry you have to deal with those attitudes. I had to go, in person, to change an account in my name, and they did not require masks if you are vaccinated except how do they know those not wearing masks are vaccinated? Had to wait awhile and one unmasked woman kept coughing. Was glad to get out of there.

@marionberry19 I am the same with having to constantly go to the bathroom.

@fluteling I hope you get some answers at your next appointment and feel better soon!

@binxybaby I feel that way at every appointment.

@pinkkillersheep I hope you are feeling better now.

@hillies22 My fertility clinic always allowed me to record, but the OB office doesn't allow it. I wish they would understand the need for video calling during these times.

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: June 9 / 18 weeks 5 days

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Towards the end of the month.

How are you feeling?: headaches, heartburn, constant need to pee.

Rants/Raves: Rave: Glad The Eternals comes on Disney Plus tomorrow because I haven't seen it. Rant: The Dexter New Blood Finale.

    Questions: None at this time.

  • Thanks for the feedback ladies. I guess because I had the same OB for first 2 kids, I only had my anatomy scan after 20 weeks. He wouldn't schedule it before, but he's old school so makes sense. I schedule my next appointment once I'm leaving the current one, so I don't have all of them on the books. Based on my current MFM schedule my anatomy scan will be at 19w6d, so I'm hoping 1 day shy of 20 weeks they won't tell me to wait longer. They are never fully booked, so I can easily schedule my appts for 2 weeks after current one.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Jan 21 - anatomy scan

How are you feeling?: I’m feeling so good! However, I do need the occasional nap after work to keep up with the rest of the evening.

Rants/Raves: just so tired of covid, and all the experiences we’re missing out on because of it.

    Questions: none
  • @Tulips29 My OB typically schedules them for 18-20 weeks and I jumped on a chance at 18 weeks. Last pregnancy I was almost 21 weeks for the anatomy scan.

I have scheduled all my appointments, including my 40 week appointment. Figured I'd just get it all on the books, especially since my OB is probably the 1st or 2nd most popular in town so scheduling is a nightmare.

    Pregnancy TickerSaveSave
  • We’ll, my OB suggested we book the c-section date since the hospital tends to get booked up early. So we put a hold for 6/16. Seems surreal to even think that far ahead knowing it’s planned already. Now hoping this baby stays in until at least 36 weeks.
