Only 5 weeks in and wondering if it’s already dangerous to do a flow yoga class at my gym? I know there’s prenatal yoga but unfortunately my gym doesn’t offer that
Yes you can still do yoga. You'll just need to modify a couple poses. It's not recommended to do twists that compress at the waist (like chair pose).
The nurse at my OB's practice during my intake appointment actually told me I could continue as usual since I do yoga every day but maybe she's not aware of the concerns with some poses.
I recommend just Googling yoga during pregnancy to get a list of poses that should be modified and how to do them to be safe for baby. The yoga instructor at the gym may be able to help with that as well but not all are well versed on yoga during pregnancy.
The other big thing is no hot yoga so that you don't raise your body temperature up too much. Not that you asked about it, but thought I would throw it out there.

I have a friend who has her own studio and she just had her baby girl. I think she taught up until a few days before she was born? Like @inthewoods23 said, just be mindful like no extreme yoga poses & you should be good,
I didn’t know about the twists for first trimester until a few days ago, and did a twist focused class a week or so ago (I’m at 12 weeks tmrw). I just panicked myself by reading “absolutely no twists or crunches” throughout pregnancy. I’m feeling okay and haven’t noticed any change in symptoms. Self-taught exercise in a pandemic while pregnant is challenging.
