Dropping the food from this weekly post for all the mamas who can’t even read about it right now. Here are some prompts to get us started, but please feel free to contribute however feels good to you. I hope we can encourage each other and ourselves to start a fitness routine or stay fit during these 9 months.

Re: Fitness Friday Jan 6
Workouts this week: so might sound silly but I did walk away the lbs YouTube video when I was post partum with my son. I did that this week. I am still so tired and nauseous that the low impact walking is helpful for me. I didn't get my heart rate up very high and I didn't change into workout clothes but it's where I am right now. My kiddos did the walking with me so that was fun too.
All time favorite used to be running. I haven't been as into it as I used to be. I like Sydney Cummings YouTube videos, she is actually pregnant right now. Hopefully once my nausea levels out I can follow her vids again. I also want a peloton!
I don't have specific goals other than that I want to be physically stronger than in my pregnancy with DS1 - I was in terrible shape then and have been working on it for the past year.
Did you get any workouts in this week? What type, and how did you feel?
Last week I joined a HIIT gym and go to a 6 a.m. class Monday-Friday. I've already noticed I'm starting to get out of breath faster the past few weeks and am having to take it a bit slower. It's a really small gym and the owners are a married couple that I'm fairly close to. Thankfully they both know about our TTC history and have been great about not making me feel bad for not going as hard as I normally do.
What is your all time favorite exercise or workout?
HIIT/Insanity type workouts. I absolutely hate running lol.
Stay in shape and continue working out daily even if I have to modify significantly. I would love some tips on that in general actually to be prepared!
Did you get any workouts in this week? What type, and how did you feel?
Because the weather has been yuck in DC I haven't been able to run outside. I did sign up for a barre challenge at nearby studio and I also did a virtual boxing session earlier this week. I'm planking a lot lol while I still can. It's nice to stay active even with cruddy weather but I really miss my runs!
What is your all time favorite exercise or workout?
While I love the overall benefits of barre, nothing beats boxing and running for me 😊
Have you checked out YouTube workout videos for low-impact indoor workout options?
I would love to stay active - my husband and I were regularly working out before our wedding in July and since then we have been so busy! We wanted to get up and running around the holidays, but thats when I found out and I have not been energized since. I would love to stay in shape.
Did you get any workouts in this week? What type, and how did you feel?
No workouts. My husband did. I'm trying not to get jealous...I'm hoping to get back to it soon once the routine of school gets a little easier and I'm able to have enough energy again. We're big preworkout users, but it has a lot of caffiene so I'm unable to use it.
What is your all time favorite exercise or workout?
We love using Apple Fitness+ and doing HIIT and strength work outs on there. A lot of the trainers are currently pregnant, so it's helpful for modifying! I live in cold Illinois and cannot wait until spring to start our walks outside again soon! Like others mentioned, I would love a Peloton, but I cannot justify its price quite yet.
Did you get any workouts in this week? What type, and how did you feel? Does 30 miles of walking at Disney count? Monday was the 8.9 mile day and my feet HURT.
What is your all time favorite exercise or workout? I love my Peloton and yoga, sadly the Pelo has been collecting some dust after my loss in Sept so hoping to get back at when we get home tomorrow.
What are your fitness goals for this pregnancy? For this pregnancy, I just want to keep moving. My goal for the week was to add back a little more intensity to my routine.
Did you get any workouts in this week? I did a couple of rides on the Peloton, a heavier lifting day (legs), a prenatal yoga session, a walk, and I finally got over my fear and went for a short run. Hoping to get another an upper body lifting day and another yoga this weekend.
TW - loss
What is your all time favorite exercise or workout? I love to run. Nothing else feels as good to me.
Did you get any workouts in this week? What type, and how did you feel? Exhaustion hit me hard this week, so I opted for sleeping in a couple days this week instead of getting up to workout. So far I've gone for a run every other day, and felt pretty decent on all of those runs. I'm hoping to get out for either a run or walk tomorrow, depending on how slick the roads are after a snowstorm today. I also did a prenatal strength/yoga session.
What is your all time favorite exercise or workout? At risk of sounding like a broken record, I love any and all running! I also love love love doing core work. I know a lot of core exercises are a no go at the moment, so I would welcome any suggestions!
I want to try my best to maintain my workouts, with necessary modifications, as long as I can. I was not in shape at all for my first 2 pregnancies, and suffered some intense lower back pain because of it, especially postpartum. Once DS2 (who’s turning 4) was 10 months the lightbulb went off and I finally got in shape and at my best had lost 70 pounds. Then Covid happened and teaching in a pandemic caused me to gain about half that back, but I never stopped working out… until 2 weeks ago when I started bleeding from a subchorionic hematoma. I’m really hoping to get cleared soon. I’m an endorphin junkie.
Did you get any workouts in this week? What type, and how did you feel?
No workouts, but hoping to get cleared as soon as this week if I’m lucky. I am hoping it’ll help with my pregnancy fog.
What is your all time favorite exercise or workout?
3 years ago I joined Camp Gladiator, which is group exercise with dumbbells and an exercise mat. Each week there’s a different focus, endurance, strength and agility, HIIT, and peak workouts. I love strength and hiit, but I feel like I’ll have to slow down on hiit. My heart rate gets too high too fast. TikTok knows I’m pregnant bc I’ve been seeing and saving workouts done by pregnant women. 🤣
