Weeks/EDD? 9 weeks/ 8-11

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? Mc at 5 weeks in July 2021

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Emotionally I’m actually doing well. I’m very optimistic! Despite having a small SCH I haven’t spotted at all, but I’m constantly watching for it. Physically, blah. I’m still exhausted and super nauseous- just dry heaving and gagging all day. Really having cravings that last a couple hours and then what I wanted sounds terrible. Except cheddar cheese.

Any appointment updates? I had an appt on Monday and asked her to listen for the hb despite knowing it was way too early, but she found it! So that made me settle down a little and I’m really trying to trust the process. Next appt. is 1/31 w/dr and for nt scan.

Any big milestones? Heard the hb on the Doppler!

Rants/Raves/Questions? Not much more than I’ve already said. Just trying to get settled into this pregnancy, and remain optimistic!

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? 2015 mc at 7 weeks. 9/9 d&c for blighted ovum at 13 weeks

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? The gagging is out of control. I just feel low key nauseous all day long. Emotionally I feel disconnected still. I don’t know if I’m just terrified of something happening, or if I’m questioning myself about having 5 kids, but I’m just feeling weird. I’m sure it’ll get better after I pass 13 weeks.

Any appointment updates? I had an appt on Tuesday with NP to make sure everything was good after the bleeds. We’re good thankfully. Go back 1/18 with my OB.

Any big milestones?

Rants/Raves/Questions? I’m just really ready to be out of the first trimester. I hope the anxiety about everything with settle past that. I’m ready to tell my parents and ILs, after next appt. Initially we were going to tell the kids first but I think we probably won’t share with them for a bit longer.

@paytonpedro the cravings that suddenly seem gross - totally happens to me too. It is so bizarre.

Weeks/EDD? 9W5D, 8/6

Loss at 6 weeks before DS.
Loss at 7 weeks between DS & this pregnancy.

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Emotionally - much better. After two weeks of random spotting, I got in for a second ultrasound. Baby was measuring on time and the ultra sound technician was like - I'm not sure I can get a pic of baby he/she is moving so much! It was so reassuring having a very active baby on screen (although since kiddo is related to DS I really shouldn't be surprised - DS is very active). Physically - blah. I'm constantly either nauseous or hungry or both. Boobs are sore. And I'm so bloated I look much further along than I really am.

Any appointment updates? Check up on 1/10

Any big milestones? Nope

Rants/Raves/Questions? Not much to add other than trying to figure out a way to adjust to this new norm of being pregnant.

@paytonpedro That is so wonderful that you got to hear the heartbeat. I am waiting for that magical moment. I could cry just thinking about it!

Weeks/EDD? 7+ weeks, Aug 23

Previous loss? Spontaneous early loss in Aug 21

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? I've been feeling a little off the last few days, kind of lightheaded, and a bit of nausea here and there. Mostly just really tired. Emotionally I am struggling with the waiting, I want to know that everything is going okay in there, but my new OB office seems to have a very hands off approach to early pregnancy.

Any appointment updates? Impatiently waiting for my intake Jan 25

Rants/Raves/Questions? I got an email form my cousin congratulating me this morning. Only trouble is I haven't told her, or anyone in my extended family. Apparently my parents can't keep a secret. SUPER ANNOYED. They know about our loss too, which makes me even more mad about it. It's my news to tell, when I'm ready to tell it!

Twins lost at 20 weeks

Twins born at 23w3d, lost one son at 12 days okr5

Singleton pregnancy lost at 15 weeks

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Right now I'm a wreck. But it's because we had an ultrasound yesterday and found spontaneous quads. My brain goes right back to loss and living in the NICU for months

Any appointment updates? Ultrasound yesterday. OB appointment next Tuesday and another ultrasound next Wednesday

Any big milestones? We were able to get 3 heartbeats yesterday and a fetal pole on the 4th. Hoping to get heartbeats on everyone next week!

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm freaking out about everything that needs to happen around our house in order to prepare for bed rest and the possibility of 4 babies coming home. I don't even know where to start

@maggiemadeit wow I'd be super peeved. My mom actually told one of my aunts (despite me telling her repeatedly we were not ready to share) and that really upset me. I feel very strongly about it being the parents decision on when to share the news.

@Karissa764 wow I can't even begin to imagine the pain and trauma you went through with those losses. All I can say, is I'm rooting for you and for those babies to stick. 💕

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically?

A little better after a good ultrasound but still feeling pretty detached from all of this. There were no tears of joy or celebrating after Monday it’s just, OK, now we hold our breath for the next appointment. Physically not feeling too bad, I mostly just want to eat all the things.

Any appointment updates? We had a good ultrasound on Monday, babe was measuring on track (this was a big deal because with my 2nd MMC baby measured 4 days behind which never made sense because I was tracking ovulation and got a BFP at 9DPO) I made another appointment for Tuesday at the local Women’s Care Center that offers free ultrasounds (they have several locations nationwide if anyone’s looking for a place to squeeze in an extra US) because my doctor can’t see me until week after next and it already feels like ages since my ultrasound.

Any big milestones? Seeing the heartbeat was big but we’ve seen a heartbeat before and still lost the baby so relief is always short-lived. 2nd tri is the big milestone.

Rants/Raves/Questions? Anyone have experience with an irregular shaped yolk sac? My ultrasound report showed that mine was an irregular shape and my doctor said it’s not concerning by itself and Dr. Google has some conflicting answers so not sure what to think. It seems like abnormal size is a bigger concern but given my history it feels ominous.

@and_peggy right there with you the emotional detachment. I still don’t believe this will lead to a baby and I’m also questioning my ability to handle 3 kids if it does work out

@maggiemadeit I would be going absolutely crazy waiting that long. I’m surprised that with your loss they won’t see you any sooner. Is there anyway you can appeal to them based on your history? I have a different care team than I did during my last pregnancies and I had to advocate a bit for them to see me sooner. Sorry about your parents sharing your news that would make me really mad.

No ivf or fertility treatments of any kind. Multiples don't run in our family it's literally just me lol the last mention of multiples in our family tree is my great great grandmother's sisters so it was really out of left field for us

@and_peggy totally hear you on being ready to be done with the first trimester. This is my last pregnancy and as much as I want to enjoy every little bit, I’m ready to enjoy it feeling more confident and less sick.

@darkrose88 it’s the worst. And even worst is that by dinner time I’m so tired and sick that I don’t even feel like cooking even if anything sounded good.

@maggiemadeit I’m definitely in the same boat as you with feeing lightheaded and nauseous on and off. Mostly on. Lol. Hopefully it eased up for both of us soon!

@Karissa764 oh love. I don’t have any words other than you are so incredibly strong. It also seems like these 4 are meant to be! I am sending so many positive vibes your way for these little ones, and you, to stay healthy! I’m so curious what your first words were when your saw FOUR sacks?!? Did you have any hunch prior?

@coco2787 it’s so great that you can get in for that extra ultrasound, I hope it eases your mind a little more and is all good news!

@Karissa764 I’m so sorry for everything you have been through. And WOW, 4 babies! God bless the 5 of you!

@and_peggy I really relate to not feeling attached. I find myself saying things like, “if all goes well” or “if we make it” about the future. I want to be positive, but I feel myself holding back to protect my heart.

@coco2787 I asked for betas when I first found out, but they weren’t going to do it unless I was a recurrent loss patient. I’ve also changed providers, and I wonder if they would treat it differently if I had been a patient with them when I had my loss. I’m glad you were able to schedule another ultrasound. These early days are hard and it’s so nice that you’ll get to see that little one again.

I don't have much to say cause nothing has happened, but still wanted to pop into this thread!

I'm 6+3 today, no news really. Just symptoms watching like crazy. First appt is 1/27 and anxiously counting down the days. Can't wait to add more!

@paytonpedro So so glad your OB found the HB on the doppler! That is exciting! When is your next ultrasound appointment? Those are always the biggest fear-reducers for me!

@and_peggy the all-day nausea is so tough! Especially with keeping up with four other kids, I imagine! When did you tell the older kids with previous pregnancies? We told DS1 but he's only two, so obviously he isn't very invested in it other than sometimes grabbing my stomach and saying, "baby's in there?"

@darkrose88 I'm so glad you had a good second ultrasound! Such a relief!!

@maggiemadeit I'm sorry you didn't get to share the news for yourself. That is really frustrating. Is it something you can discuss with them to prevent it happening with more people?

@Karissa764 Sending so many hugs and good vibes. I don't have much to say, just in shock for you! Will you be with your regular OB, or a high risk doctor with the quads?

@coco2787 I feel you on the anxiety following the first confirmation scan

Before our losses, I always thought once you saw the baby for the first time on an ultrasound you were basically in the clear. What was irregular about the yolk sac shape?

Weeks/EDD? 7+2, August 24

Previous loss(es) (share as much or as little as you like)? Blighted ovum at 10 weeks in March 2021, two suspected CPs in June & July 2021, spontaneous loss at 9 weeks in October after a perfect first US.

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? Emotionally I'm feeling a bit better than last week, really I think because my symptoms are starting to pick up finally and this feels most like my pregnancy with DS1. I know symptoms aren't indicative of pregnancy outcomes, especially because with my blighted ovum I had tons of symptoms, but it's still reassuring for some reason.

Any appointment updates? Next appointment is January 17 and I'll have an ultrasound at that one. It is SO hard to wait for it and I've been incredibly tempted to go get an ultrasound at a freestanding clinic just to "check in" but am trying to resist.

Any big milestones? Not a milestone specifically, but I took the Sneak Peek test yesterday and mailed it off. Should have results Monday or Tuesday. We did it with DS1 and it was right, and my sisters did it with their pregnancies and theirs were all correct. Hopefully it is again!

@aukeev usually yolk sacs are a smooth circular shape but mine had an indent on one of the walls. That’s exciting about the SneakPeek, I didn’t know you could do it that early! I’m dying to know the sex.

@aukeev my next u/s is 1/31!! I’m kind of excited for it, but also am going to be nervous until it here! It’s so far away! Lol. I have been toying with doing sneak peek again! Make sure you update us with the results!! I did it with my second and it was right but my sister just did it last summer and it was wrong. Said girl when she had a boy. But I guess she’s like .01% of the false tests, so probably just bad luck.

i just wanted to preempt this post but saying PGAL women are some of the strongest I know. It takes a lot to go through the losses you all have shared and still choose to continue to grow your families. Also thank you for sharing your stories so that others can draw courage and share theirs, so women don’t feel so alone. I hold a special place in my heart for all of those who are apart of this specific sub group of pregnant women. ❤️

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically?

Emotionally I still feel super disconnected and a bit discouraged. I feel guilty bc all I want to do is sleep or lay around bc I have no energy and I’m nauseated all the time. Physically exhausted and nauseated. It’s like at every corner it’s waiting to be triggered by something. My fiancé’s body wash, my favorite snack, my toddler’s breath lol

Any appointment updates? had my nurse visit over the phone which was weird, next appt is 1/12 with the OB. I’m nervous for this appointment bc they will try to find baby’s HB on Doppler and I’m scared they won’t be able to and I’ll spiral.

Any big milestones? Staying pregnant through January and not having any issues will provide me with relief since last loss everything happened in jan.

I don’t know if it’s trauma brain rearing it’s ugly head or actual intuition but I don’t feel very optimistic about tomorrow’s ultrasound. The fact that one of our losses happened between 7 and 8 weeks is not helping my anxiety either.

@coco2787 wishing the best for you. I felt the same way going in last Friday. ( I also has a MC at 8 weeks) I was so zoned in looking for a heart beat I didn't even initially notice the wiggling legs or the second baby. Just panic searching for a chest flicker.

Hi! I just intro'd in the Introductions post but thought I would jump in here too.

Weeks/EDD? 9 or 9+1 (cannot remember what day my LMP actually began)

Previous loss(es) 5 early losses; the latest being just after 7 weeks. I have a genetic issue that significantly increases my chance of miscarriage and has no other impact on my life whatsoever.

How are you feeling? Emotionally & physically? I've been feeling nauseated pretty much all day long for the last week or so and then just exhausted. Emotionally I am kind of neutral. I mentioned in my intro post that there will be a big age gap between my youngest and this baby so I am feeling a little panicked either way. I have made it past all my loss milestones and have never had such significant nausea or fatigue (or any symptoms really).

Any appointment updates? My first appt is this Thursday. I actually didn't even call the doctor until I hit my latest loss milestone because I didn't want to hassle with it. Unfortunately and kind of funnily, when I called the fertility clinic to get in (I hadn't been in 4+ years), they told me they would have sent me to an OB at this point so they wouldn't see me. The OB office was just as breezy and scheduled me for a week after I called. I was frustrated but I haven't had any of my typical loss signals (mainly spotting/bleeding) so I guess that makes sense.

Any big milestones? I have never made it past 7 weeks nor have I heard a heartbeat on an ultrasound so that will be another milestone if that happens on Thursday.

@bobloblaw87 glad to have you here! I read your intro and I'm not at all surprised you decided to lurk for awhile. I can imagine it was quite a shock to realize you were pregnant & to have made it this far - but it sounds like you've hit some major milestones already which is comforting. I'll be keeping my FX for you that the u/s on Thursday goes well.
