  • @gembud
No hip lumps here, wish I knew what to tell you but I haven’t got a clue. :/ Maybe ask your OB?

I’ll hold off on posting my own until after my MFM appointment this afternoon. For now just lurking to read how other people are doing. Lol
  • @gembud not sure about the bumps on your hips. I would follow up with your OB. I have plenty of other fluid and swelling though. My body is definitely not looking it’s best 😂

    EDD / Weeks + Days: Mar 7th / 31 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact:  coconut!?

Upcoming Appointments: 1/12 US and OB

How are you feeling?: Good, except for the pregnancy carpal tunnel.  I’m in a brace now 24/7 and not sure what else I can do.  It is still causing me pretty bad pain at times

Rants/Raves: Starting to finally get the nursery together!  Less than 3 weeks till my shower and I will finish it after that.

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:)

We always did family ski trips. Those probably stand out the most from my childhood.

  • @gembud no advice on the hip lumps but…weird. Isn’t pregnancy the best. Im also already eyeing bottles of castor oil- but also cool with baby continuing to cook- but also want to not wince every time I move.
@Panaceia Santa’s village looks so fun. Once saw a random buzzfeed article or something about it. Great traditions your kids will always remember.
@goldfishcraker I’m sorry about your gallbladder. Did you have issues pre-pregnancy or only recently? Have seen lots of third tri and early postpartum chole’s over the years in the ER.
@Sarah0335 so fun working on the nursery, have been enjoying that recently as well.
  • @gembud sooo pregnant, right? When i think that there are still 11 weeks until my due date it just feels..Like my body will not make it.

@Panaceia so sweet about your girls. DD always includes the baby when we are counting people or talking about our family. I just melt.

@goldfishcraker princess for the weekend is so cute! And i would still like to go pick out cereal and fruit snacks!

@Sarah0335 we did big family ski trips too. Usually the week between xmas and new years. My mom's whole family (4 families) would stay in one big house. As an adult, i see what an effort it was for them, both financially and logistically, and i really appreciate that they did that for us.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: RCS 2/28   29+1

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: as long as a spaghetti noodle.....

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: green!

Upcoming Appointments: OB check next week sometime, Placenta US end of the month.

How are you feeling?:  OK. Pregnant AF. restless legs killing me, even with magnesium supplements. I can fall asleep no problem, but struggle to get back to sleep after i wake to pee.

Rants/Raves: 2 raves today: 1 is I figured out my maternity leave! I think i will have off until mid-august, which is about 5 1/2 months. That is very good for america lol. About 1/2 of it will be at 50% pay, but I'll take it for more time with BB (thank you ny state paid family leave!). rave #2 is that we finally have some snow! My whole family loves snow, so we are all thrilled. We (mostly DD and DH, i was just the photographer lol) went sledding yesterday and it was great. DD and DH also went skiing last week and had a great time. It was DD's first try. I'm really looking forward to the next couple months of being outside in the snow!

    Questions: nah

GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:)  really, any place in the woods. I loooove the woods. I always feel so grounded and reset when i am able to get out for a hike. It's something that has always been a constant for me.

  • @goldfishcraker My baba had a giant sand pile in her yard (it was in the city but a huge yard that was like a little farm). We used to climb that thing alllll the time too! I had totally forgotten about it until I read your post. Thank you ❤

@Sarah0335 I'm sorry you're struggling with carpal tunnel 😔 My SIL had this through all of her pregnancies and I remember how hard it was for her ❤

@kgg2241 I'm with you on the working out. I was so so active with my first 2 pregnancies and this one has just been killing me. I'm embarrassed at the amount of weight I've gained already 😩 I tried so hard to keep working out, but I just couldn't keep up. Definitely commiserating with you ❤

@morgantu That's awesome about your mat leave!!! It's so great you have that option available to you! And I'm also a big fan of the woods 😁
  • @kgg2241 i feel you on the working out too. Last pregnancy, i went into it much more fit, kept up with hiking and prenatal yoga the entire pregnancy. I have been hit or miss this pregnancy about my spin bike, and just decided i think i need to stop for the rest because it gives me really bad cramps and freaks me out. I still try to walk most days, but it's so much harder with a kid at home :(
  • @kgg2241 @Panaceia @morgantu add me to the wishing I was working out group. I really miss it, and I know I would be feeling healthier and in a much better headspace if I could find the time, but between this crazy new job, and pregnancy discomfort, and chasing around my toddler, and now more daycare covid closures, I just cannot seem to find the time.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/25, 28+3

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: coconut

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Girl

Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow is my gestational diabetes test, I reaaaaaally hope I pass.

How are you feeling?: Pubis Symphysis dysfunction is starting to get bad. General achiness and insomnia are really starting to get to me too. I'm so glad I work from home, I'm not sure how I would handle a commute at this point, let alone being on my feet all day. I can't believe I still have almost 3 months to go.

Rants/Raves: My doula came today for our first prenatal appointment and it was amazing. I really love her, and I feel really good about my care team overall.

    Questions:

GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:)

My mom grew up in Coronado, CA, a tiny island off the coast of San Diego. As a child my family moved around a lot, so home was a frequently shifting place. Coronado was the one constant place in my childhood, and it was really special to me. The home my mom grew up in there has been in the family for 4 generations now, and that place holds so much love. I haven't been back there since Covid hit, and I really miss it, I think we will finally need to find a way to get back there this summer, covid be damned.

  • @Panaceia hmm it is around my joints, I’ll be mortified but will bring it up Wednesday 🤭 girl they are nasty looking! Awwww M & N are going to be the best big sisters!! A might murder his brother so I’m jealous 😂

@goldfishcraker size of a fist?! Ouch! You poor thing. They are on the smaller side right on my joint, smaller than a fist for sure though more like just the knuckles of a fist

@Sarah0335 arnica oil was a godsend for my swelling last time - def recommend

@kgg2241 glad I’m not alone in that feeling, seriously feels like when it was the final stretch 😳 And second pregnancies are so much harder (at least it sure feels that way) so don’t be so hard on yourself! I’m going to try and get back on my yoga kick to get ready for labor, you still have time (unfortunately) to get stuff in gear!

@night_nurse oh man, did castor work for you last time? I birthed 6 days late tried the midwives brew 2 days late and again 4 days late and nothinggggg. Apparently I’m immune to the effects of castor oil

@morgantu so so so very pregnant 😂 wohooo for your maternity leave being all set!!

@jessier19 thinking of you tomorrow, fx! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/12  30+2

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Size of a zucchini w/ a 95th percentile belly!

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: So, so many. High risk stinks! My next is Jan. 17th for more ultrasounds, but they may have me come in before then to learn how to test my glucose for a week w/ the finger prick(I passed 3 glucose tests but baby has a massive tummy indicative of GD which is concerning them)

How are you feeling?: Painful most days. We thought I had SPD but after going to a PT she realized it's my extreme hypermobility. Trying to roll around in bed has my husband laughing because I sound like a whale. Luckily, however, my heart condition has only acted up once! (SVT/WPW syndrome). Braxton Hicks have also begun, but haven't bothered me too much because they are similar on the pain scale to my ovarian cysts (PCOS). Also typing this all out makes me sound like a trainwreck lol

Rants/Raves: Honestly I just want March to be here, but the thought of labor terrifies me.

Questions: Has anyone used an Evenflo pump? That's what I ended up choosing through my insurance, and it doesn't seem super popular.

GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:)

Honestly just going to either of my grandmother's houses. There's so many happy, fond, family-filled memories with them. I lost my grandma when I was 15, and my Nana in April of 2020. Every day I miss my Nana more and more because I was her youngest grandchild, and she lived with us for a time (I was the youngest by at least a decade - she had 6 kids and my mom was the youngest too). I know she'd be so excited to meet her great-granddaughter.

  • @gembud No hip lumps, but way to go getting things done!
@Panaceia  aww! Love to hear about older siblings connecting with baby!
@goldfishcraker Yay for baby dancing! Hope your GTT goes smoothly.
@Sarah0335 I had carpal tunnel pretty badly with DS. Wearing the braces and sleeping with my hands propped on pillows are the only things that remotely helped. Hope you find some relief.
@kgg2241Sorry to hear you’re struggling. Try not to be too hard on yourself. I was definitely more active in my pregnancy with DS, and can tell a difference between that pregnancy and this one. Sometimes it’s just about making it through the day though!
@morgantu That’s awesome news about your maternity leave! That is very good for US! Have fun in the snow!!
@j@jessier19 good luck on your glucose test!! And I’m glad to hear you’re liking your doula! So important to have someone you’re comfortable with and can trust.
  • @gembud I feel you on being so pregnant! Went to my OB today, and my belly is measuring 40 weeks! Hopefully your OB has some answers on those hip bumps!

@panaceia Love the engagement of your DDs with your baby. So sweet!

@faithmovesmountains can't wait to hear an update later!

@goldfishcraker I also love feeling so much movement! Good luck with the GTT.

@morgantu That is great about your maternity leave!!

@jessier19 good luck on your GTT, and happy to hear you are well supported with your doula and care team!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 29+5, 3/16/22

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Cabbage or bike helmet

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Team Bluex2

Upcoming Appointments: 1/20 for 32 week growth scan/NST/OB check

How are you feeling?: Very large, also feeling fatigued in the afternoon.

Rants/Raves: Organizing/setting up the nursery is daunting. I wish I had a magic wand that would do it for me!

    Questions: none

GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:)

I was born in Louisiana, and moved up North when I was 5. My family would take road trips to visit my parent's friends and family, and the long car rides were a lot of fun. I just remember having lots and lots of snacks in the car lol.  My Mom was prepared! Lots of great memories, and we also took a trip to FL to check out Universal Studios!

  • @MusicalFamily They delayed the start of school here until Wednesday and then today made the announcement that all schools are going remote. I'm so glad I'm off this year. I'm sorry you are stuck with all that stress 😔 And YES to the stretching and moving. I just said the other day that it is soooo different having a posterior placenta...I didn't know kicks could be that hard...especially this early!
  • @MusicalFamily
    I get a similar feeling.
I feel like Lilly Rose stretches so she can headbutt me in the bladder and kick my ribs at the same time. Just hoping it all means at her growth scan next week they’ll see she’s moved up from the low percentiles.
  • @rachelredhead I'm soooooo jealous! I swam daily while pregnant with DD2 and I miss it sooooo much!
  • @rachelredhead glad to hear your GD has been manageable! I’ve got a Disney diabetes cook book if you wanted me to send any recipes for a certain carb range ❤️

  • @gembud we were going to go to The Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos last week but canceled it due to Covid. My aunts and uncle live nearby too!

@morgantu I didn’t realize you were in NY too! You must be up north because we didn’t get snow here on Long Island.  It was very cold though!! My union gives us 6 weeks paid maternity leave and we can use up all of our sick days. I have about 7 days lol so I’m going to take off another 5 weeks unpaid. Since I’m a teacher, I’ll come back in June sometime to make sure I get health benefits, and some pay for the summer. Then I’ll be off for the summer and return in September.

@jessier19 yay we are due date buddies lol and both having a girl ;)

@appleblossom8317 thankfully my students are in HS and they all wear their masks. Some students came in today with double masks or kn95s. Almost all of the students are vaccinated, but unfortunately still catching it. Ugh.

@rachelredhead that mini baby moon sounds blissful. I want one of those. With our first we had a baby moon in Canada, our second we went to Florida. This one- nothing is planned :(

  • @rachelredhead ooh feeling weightless in a pool sounds marvelous right now!
  • @night_nurse I have the same dilemma about spending money on maternity clothes!  I don’t know how to justify spending much on them when I’m never going to wear them again after March. I’ve only bought a few things, so they are all getting a decent amount of use, which makes me feel better.
