  • What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 5/4 AL

    WTO/TWW? TWW

    Ages of other child(ren)? 4.5

Any thoughts about this cycle? Meh. Glad to be doing progesterone as it feel productive to be trying something new. Otherwise not too hopeful.

    Any questions? Not yet

Rant/Rave? I am thankful we are back on a school/work schedule today. We had a lovely holiday all home together for a couple weeks, but it was time to get back in routine and have some time apart, lol.

GTKY: What is something fun you did for or with your kid(s) over the holidays? We went and looked at Christmas lights spur of the moment on Christmas Eve and it was such a great way to start the celebrating. It was nice weather, so we were even able to park and visit some of the more impressive houses.

  • @abjm0325 the Christmas lights sound wonderful! That’s one of my favorite things to do also! I’m glad they put you on progesterone. Did you have trouble with your first also?

What number are you trying for? 2

    Month/Cycle? 1/1

    WTO/TWW? WTO

Ages of other child(ren)? 21 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? We are officially benched unless we hear anything in the next week about a dig date. I’m ok with it, honestly. A September due date as a teacher is a bit scary, so I’d rather hit more towards late fall. I’m still bummed, though. I really wanted to be trying this month 😔

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave? I started back to work today and of course with Covid and a sub shortage, I lost my planning time. Sweet. But other than that, I enjoyed being back in routine! It felt good to be something other than mommy for a bit. Lol

GTKY: What is something fun you did for or with your kid(s) over the holidays? I really just enjoyed Christmas morning this year! DS is just getting to where he understands, and it was so magical seeing his reaction to everything ❤️
  • @ejoseph16 I'm sorry you have to be benched! Being practical doesn't make it any less disappointing to have to wait. I'm glad your Christmas was fun though!

I had no trouble getting/staying pregnant with my first, which has made the two losses surprising in addition to devastating. I'm hopeful that the progesterone is the answer, but also wary that it might not be that simple. And, of course, always just worried I'm too old

  • @abjm0325 oh no that’s horrible!

I had a miscarriage before my first, and these ladies helped me through it all. I love this board for that reason and that’s why I’m back. I’m hopeful to not have to go through that again… I had a BO, so the embryo never developed. I only made it to 9 weeks. Let’s hope this progesterone is the answer! But I understand your reservations.

  • @abjm0325 I really hope that the progesterone helps and those Christmas lights sound really lovely.

@ejoseph16 I'm sorry you're benched - it's disappointing to have to wait but the reason at least is exciting (e.g. building your house!)

What number are you trying for? 3 (first for my SO)

    Month/Cycle? 5/5

    WTO/TWW? TWW

    Ages of other child(ren)? 8 and 5

Any thoughts about this cycle? We managed to have really good timing this cycle but also we have Covid. I have no idea if that will make any difference. This cycle and next the EDD will be close to my LO's birthdays as I have one September and one October baby. I'm too old to put things off, though, even for a month.

    Any questions? Nope

Rant/Rave? Rant - my son, his dad and step-mom got Covid over Christmas which has resulted in them having to postpone their return home by a week which means I spend an extra week without my kids. I know there's nothing that can be done but I can't believe it's been so long since I've seen them and I still won't see them for a week and a half (we alternate who gets the kids for the holidays). DS is healthy and fine but I just want to give him a cuddle, and his trooper of a sister who has been surrounded by sick people for weeks. [Disclaimer: we are all vaccinated and adults boosted]. Rave - I'll get two weekends in a row with the kids when they get back and I will spend all the time cuddling them that I can. They'll be sick of me.

GTKY: What is something fun you did for or with your kid(s) over the holidays? Since I wasn't with them for Christmas, I took them out to an outdoor ice rink to go ice skating at a palace. It was beautiful but also challenging as it was the 5-year-old's first time and the 8-year-old's second time. We had fun and I'd definitely do it again next year.
  • @ejoseph16 This board has definitely been a wonderful place of support!

@Paturkey Oh my goodness, that is a long time to not hug your kiddos! I hope you all have a wonderful reunion when they get back and that you spend so much time together that they are thoroughly sick of you. Also, I've never really understood the avoiding other people's birthday thing anyway. I guess I grew up having my birthday right near several family members and it never bothered me so it didn't occur to me to worry about timing my kids' birthdays in that way.
  • @abjm0325 Totally on the birthday thing. My son is two days after me and it's fun. The only reason I had any considerations about it is that this will be their half-sibling and if there was going to be any potential sibling rivalry I feel like sharing a birthday could spark it. But I am sure they would be excited to have another sibling and would probably enjoy having all our birthdays close together if it worked out (my DD insists it should be a girl even though they don't know we're trying because her brother annoys her 😂).

@Paturkey To be fair, all brothers are slightly annoying.  ;)
  • @abjm0325 Ain't it the truth? 😁
  • What number are you trying for? 4

    Month/Cycle? 3/2

    WTO/TWW? CD3, WTO

    Ages of other child(ren)? 4.5f, 2.5m, 1m

Any thoughts about this cycle? Sad that last cycle didn't work. We had as good of timing as we could, but I also had walking bacterial pneumonia.

    Any questions?

Rant/Rave? I don't know if this is a rant or rave or question, but I struggle with feeling like it's unfair to complain about ttc when I have 3 kids, but that doesn't change how emotional it is for us. We both want a big family, we are both relatively old, we both feel our family is still incomplete, but we also get lots of looks when we talk about having more. People were pretty rude when we announced our third pg, asking why we were having another since we already had 1 of each sex.

GTKY: What is something fun you did for or with your kid(s) over the holidays? Glow stick bath for nye was a huge hit. 10/10 do recommend.

  • @sejica Hard eye-roll at the "you already have one of each comment." Why is that ever presumed to be the goal?? Also, a glow stick bath sounds so fun!
