Re: Weekly Check-In w/o 12.28
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: July 29th, 9w4d
FTM/STM/STM+: STM
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out asap lol
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A canape (which seems huge?)
Upcoming appointments: In exactly 2 weeks
How are you feeling?: Exhausted! That’s really my only symptom. But when I try to lay around and rest I end up triggering a headache. So that’s been fun.
Rants/Raves: Sorry to be absent last week again. DS’s toddler room closed down the week before Christmas with multiple positive cases. So we were stuck at home in quarantine again. I also had 2 coworkers test positive, so I was also on the look out for symptoms. Luckily we both tested negative and were out of our quarantine period just in time to celebrate Christmas with everyone.
We decided to tell our close family at Christmas about the pregnancy after all. It was so nice to not have to hide it anymore. We also found out that another family member is KU but hasn’t announced to the rest of the family yet (we’re not supposed to know, shhh!). I had a feeling she was when I saw her at Thanksgiving. I’m so excited to be having LO around the same age! I can’t wait to find out what her due date is!
Questions:
GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? As always, I would like to start eating healthier and start cooking more at home. This has been an ongoing battle for the past 10 years. I really don’t see it changing any time soon. I wish I could just hire myself a cook! lol

Exciting thing was that we painted our 2nd bedroom (future nursery) yesterday. It's a nice grayish blue color. Very calming (and gender neutral). It was a gold-yellow color before that which I did NOT like. So the pregnancy is feeling more real!
I'd like to do a prenatal yoga class or video once a week at least.
@zinnia19 The only times MH came to my appointments with my first was when we had an ultrasound scheduled. Other than that, he never came. And honestly, I don’t see why he would want to. They’re pretty boring lol (besides hearing the heartbeat on the doppler of course!)

@zinnia19 my first pregnancy my hubby came to the first appointment and then he came to the ones with ultrasounds. the other ones were so quick that it didn't seem to make sense to have him take time off work. I sill say my doc was in our town and we both worked about a 45min drive away, pre pandemic, so it didn't make sense for him to take so much time off work to come. This time my OB office has stopped allowing partners to attend any appointments since September so he has not been to any of them - I can facetime him in but so far he's declined to
@melanier26 I[ve had random bad tastes, but often just with certain foods and then it goes away after a couple of days. What does your OB say about it?
@gharmon412 hugs to you! i lost a pregnancy at 11 weeks earlier this year so I feel this, I just made it to 12 weeks and it's helped to feel a little better, although my last appt was 2 weeks ago and I don't go back for 2 weeks, so I"m still a little anxious until I get to see baby actually still be okay in second trimester. HOpe all gets going smoothly for you!
@runnergirl2018 I should probably tell my supervisor sooner rather than later. I work in a lab around hazardous chemicals, so I need to be careful. Last time I told him at like 5 weeks. This time I’m not working so closely with the most hazardous chemicals, so I’ve been ok. But I think it’s going to be hard to hide it much longer. My belly is already sticking out past my boobs lol.

@stardustskies that sounds like a hard resolution but I bet it will be so rewarding.
@melanier26 omg sending you all the luck in the world that you'll finally have your US appointment! That's SO frustrating! So many people are getting sick lately and it freaking sucks!
@gharmon412 it's tough getting to those milestones. Really hoping everything continues to look good for you!
@sunshineandlemons did we all catch a stomach bug?? I was feeling awful on Monday and couldn't keep stuff down. Might have been my terrible eating over the Christmas holiday. I think in total I probably had at least 2 full bottles of sparkling grape juice so I definitely overdid it on the sugar
@zinnia19 I think they say shades of yellow are the hardest paint colors to like or find the right shade for a room. A grayish blue sounds lovely! We've had a particular room set as the future nursery since we moved into our house like... 8 years ago and painted it gray (I think it's a greenish gray) knowing full well that we wanted the walls to be neutral regardless of what we have. It became the dumping ground room so there's a lot to clear out of there. Good thing we've got time. On your appt question - my understanding is most appointments (per my OB) will be quick 10 minute appointments. Presumably just to check in and make sure everything is going okay. Considering my DH would have to drive like a half hour from his work to get to where my appointments are, it's not worth him attending unless it is an US appointment.
@runnergirl2018 not gonna lie a milkshake sounds good to me too! Are you also in the midwest? We just got our first snow last night too. Actually, not too long ago I was getting Wendy's frosties (frosty's?) and french fries when I was feeling really down. Didn't care that it was 50 some degrees at the time, the combination sounded really good.

@stardustskies I hope the iron helps you! When I started taking iron supplements with my first is when my constipation got much worse just FYI
@melanier26 sorry YH tested positive. I hope you can still get your US
@gharmon412 I like the daily gratitude idea
@sunshineandlemons enjoy the couple kid free days!
@zinnia19 with our first DH came to more appointments- for sure US and then some more as well. With our 2nd, he just came for the US ones because we don't have a ton of babysitting options nearby. Both of those pregnancies we're pre-pandemic though
@runnergirl2018 also thinking of telling coworkers soon. I'm a school based PT and I'd sooner tell teachers before they start guessing it
@inthewoods23 that's exciting about the home renovation! Crazy how long home stuff is still taking
@velvetblue88 I need to pull my snoogle pillow back out, but it really does help me too
Rave- going out for dinner on NYE for my birthday!
@LJMoon6 - I'm glad you all tested negative and were able to enjoy Christmas with your family!
@stardustskies - How are you feeling with covid? Are you all recovered now?
@melanier26 and @sunshineandlemons - Solidarity on the stomach bug my friends! Hope you are both feeling much better now!
@gharmon412 - Every time someone says tator tot it makes me crave them... yet I still haven't had any! Putting them on my grocery list now haha
@zinnia19 - My husband didn't get to come to any of my appointments with DD (thanks to covid), but he has been able to come to them this time - he tags along if I have an ultrasound! And I'll probably make him come to the appointment for the glucose test because I didn't feel great afterwards last time [so he can drive].
@runnergirl2018 - I've had the strangest cravings this pregnancy too! I had zero with my daughter - so it's been weird this time around! I was planning on telling my boss this week, but I've been out sick - so probably next week.
@inthewoods23 - Ohhh congrats on graduating from the RI!!! So exciting! I can't wait to see pics of your house reno!
@velvetblue88 - Yes, the pillow is so comfy, but makes it so hard to get out of bed haha
@sjb2215 - I hope your have a great NYE birthday dinner!
@velvetblue88 would you like to share some of your energy? 😆 Once it's evening I am SO tired
@sjb2215 it's crazy. My poor parents were hoping to start building their new house in November but their new neighborhood still needs to have the roads paved so now they can't break ground until March! I hope they start getting things ordered ahead of time so they can get started ASAP. They were hoping to be in the house come July but now it sounds like Thanksgiving next year might even be a difficult date to meet.
@feather_heather feel better! I had some kind of stomach bug on Monday and I just felt terrible. Still not 100%. I'd like to not be sick anymore please.
@runnergirl2018 I'm just north of you in WI! I struggle so hard with the lack of daylight starting in October. Then I'm good for like a week when we fall back an hour and it's light again in the morning. Followed by struggling into January 😫. I have a friend building a house that they will move into at the end of January but their front door won't arrive until February. My goodness haha

Rant: still craving cheese. Still can’t have it 😭 sigh.
2) Nearly eliminate social media and replace with better things
3) Get my kids started on regular chores (they help but I want more consistency)
4) Implement a better savings strategy
5) pay off and cut the credit cards
not really a news years resolution but: I’ve been wanting to move for a long time but that all hinges on my husband getting a new job. He’s been looking and applying regularly for a year now and still nothing. I hope 2022 is finally our year to get out of this limbo.

@lilirunning34 Disconnecting from social media is a fantastic idea! I've been Facebook less and less this year... Maybe it's time.
@tuxielove93 I love the planning (with or without charts). Change happens and is easier to maintain if you start 1 small step at a time...
