How are you feeling?: PREGNANT like so effing pregnant - I feel like I should be in my last month wtf - I definitely didn’t get to this point till 30 days out last time, I’m ready to evict 😬
Rants/Raves: happy to have all the boxes cleared out of the nursery! H washed every single piece of DS’s old clothes up to 12m so that’s done. My dad said he’ll paint so I’m going to grab some today. No crib, but we have a bassinet so that will get purchased one day 🤷🏻♀️
Questions: Guys idk how to even ask this question but I have these weird hip lumps going on - anyone else?! I can’t even say it’s fat cause it’s like hard and solid but man does it look gross
GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:) My grandparents had a place in the poconos that my dad now owns, it’s always been my favorite and I spent so many summers there. It’s the only place that’s always been there my entire life
No hip lumps here, wish I knew what to tell you but I haven’t got a clue.
I’ll hold off on posting my own until after my MFM appointment this afternoon. For now just lurking to read how other people are doing. Lol

Rants/Raves: Just so happy the girls are loving on the baby so much already. They include him in everything and always hug and kiss him during the day and before bed.
Questions: Not that I can think of right now...
GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:)
There is a national park (a small island) up North where we stayed on our boat at least 2 months every summer growing up. I still take the girls there every year. Also Santa's village:) I always loved going there in the summer. I also take DD1 there every summer...and once COVID is under control DD2 and hopefully DS will get to visit there for the first time too:)
@Panaceia aww your girls sound so sweet!!!❤️❤️❤️
@faithmovesmountains good luck at the appointment today! I hope you have wonderful news to share this afternoon!❤️

Upcoming Appointments: 2 hour GTT on Wednesday. Had an abdominal ultrasound on NYE, related to the (what I believe was a) gallbladder attack last week. Blood work on Wednesday as well. And follow up OB I think Jan 21.
How are you feeling?:
Ok! Starting to have trouble sleeping. I can FEEL my gallbladder most of the day. I'm trying to follow a GD diet. And also low fat because of the gallbladder. It feels like it's sitting there going "haha I just DARE you to LOOK at something fatty!!" I'm nervous about the GTT. I almost threw up last time. Doing MORE sugar on an empty stomach, for longer.
Rants/Raves: I'm overwhelmed with all the stuff that needs to get done.
However, I love how much this baby dances 🥰
Questions:
GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:)
I loved going to my Babas farm when we were little. She had a giant wood chip pile about 0.5km behind her house and we would walk there, even as toddlers, and spend the day climbing the piles of wood chips. I would find big rocks and carry them back to the house, and had a collection. Baba would walk them all back when I left 😂
When we would stay the weekend at my other Grandparents house, I would be "princess" for the weekend. I'd get to go to the store and pick out a cereal and a "fruities" (fruit snacks) on the first evening. I would be in charge and get to pick all our activities for the weekend.
I miss them ❤️

How are you feeling?: Good, except for the pregnancy carpal tunnel. I’m in a brace now 24/7 and not sure what else I can do. It is still causing me pretty bad pain at times
Rants/Raves: Starting to finally get the nursery together! Less than 3 weeks till my shower and I will finish it after that.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:)
We always did family ski trips. Those probably stand out the most from my childhood.
@gembud I feel the same way! I can't wrap my mind around the fact that we still have two more months. I feel the same way I did in my last couple of weeks with my first. I'm just so over it too.
@Panaceia I love that your girls are so excited and sweet about baby brother. That is adorable.
@goldfishcraker Sorry about the gallbladder issues. That sounds rough. And also about the GTT. That test is so rough. I almost threw up too. Not fun.
@sarah0335 Aw I hope you can get some relief from the carpal tunnel. That sounds miserable.

How are you feeling?: Really not that great. I'm emotionally and physically just not in the best place. I had some kind of intense braxton hicks last night that got me all sorts of nervous. I am also kicking myself for not working out through this pregnancy. My first pregnancy was so easy and this one has been so much harder. I can't help but blame my laziness. I was super active right up until I delivered my first.
Rants/Raves: Going back to work today after a 10 day break. It feels nice! I'm looking forward to the routine again.
Questions: Nope
GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:) Hmmm. There is a lake about an hour away that we go to every year. I've always loved and looked forward to that trip.
@Panaceia Santa’s village looks so fun. Once saw a random buzzfeed article or something about it. Great traditions your kids will always remember.
@goldfishcraker I’m sorry about your gallbladder. Did you have issues pre-pregnancy or only recently? Have seen lots of third tri and early postpartum chole’s over the years in the ER.
@Sarah0335 so fun working on the nursery, have been enjoying that recently as well.
@gembud sooo pregnant, right? When i think that there are still 11 weeks until my due date it just feels..Like my body will not make it.
@Panaceia so sweet about your girls. DD always includes the baby when we are counting people or talking about our family. I just melt.
@goldfishcraker princess for the weekend is so cute! And i would still like to go pick out cereal and fruit snacks!
@Sarah0335 we did big family ski trips too. Usually the week between xmas and new years. My mom's whole family (4 families) would stay in one big house. As an adult, i see what an effort it was for them, both financially and logistically, and i really appreciate that they did that for us.

How are you feeling?: OK. Pregnant AF. restless legs killing me, even with magnesium supplements. I can fall asleep no problem, but struggle to get back to sleep after i wake to pee.
Rants/Raves: 2 raves today: 1 is I figured out my maternity leave! I think i will have off until mid-august, which is about 5 1/2 months. That is very good for america lol. About 1/2 of it will be at 50% pay, but I'll take it for more time with BB (thank you ny state paid family leave!). rave #2 is that we finally have some snow! My whole family loves snow, so we are all thrilled. We (mostly DD and DH, i was just the photographer lol) went sledding yesterday and it was great. DD and DH also went skiing last week and had a great time. It was DD's first try. I'm really looking forward to the next couple months of being outside in the snow!
Questions: nah
GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:) really, any place in the woods. I loooove the woods. I always feel so grounded and reset when i am able to get out for a hike. It's something that has always been a constant for me.
@Sarah0335 I'm sorry you're struggling with carpal tunnel 😔 My SIL had this through all of her pregnancies and I remember how hard it was for her ❤
@kgg2241 I'm with you on the working out. I was so so active with my first 2 pregnancies and this one has just been killing me. I'm embarrassed at the amount of weight I've gained already 😩 I tried so hard to keep working out, but I just couldn't keep up. Definitely commiserating with you ❤
@morgantu That's awesome about your mat leave!!! It's so great you have that option available to you! And I'm also a big fan of the woods 😁

How are you feeling?: Pubis Symphysis dysfunction is starting to get bad. General achiness and insomnia are really starting to get to me too. I'm so glad I work from home, I'm not sure how I would handle a commute at this point, let alone being on my feet all day. I can't believe I still have almost 3 months to go.
Rants/Raves: My doula came today for our first prenatal appointment and it was amazing. I really love her, and I feel really good about my care team overall.
Questions:
GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:)
My mom grew up in Coronado, CA, a tiny island off the coast of San Diego. As a child my family moved around a lot, so home was a frequently shifting place. Coronado was the one constant place in my childhood, and it was really special to me. The home my mom grew up in there has been in the family for 4 generations now, and that place holds so much love. I haven't been back there since Covid hit, and I really miss it, I think we will finally need to find a way to get back there this summer, covid be damned.
@goldfishcraker size of a fist?! Ouch! You poor thing. They are on the smaller side right on my joint, smaller than a fist for sure though more like just the knuckles of a fist
@Sarah0335 arnica oil was a godsend for my swelling last time - def recommend
@kgg2241 glad I’m not alone in that feeling, seriously feels like when it was the final stretch 😳 And second pregnancies are so much harder (at least it sure feels that way) so don’t be so hard on yourself! I’m going to try and get back on my yoga kick to get ready for labor, you still have time (unfortunately) to get stuff in gear!
@night_nurse oh man, did castor work for you last time? I birthed 6 days late tried the midwives brew 2 days late and again 4 days late and nothinggggg. Apparently I’m immune to the effects of castor oil
@morgantu so so so very pregnant 😂 wohooo for your maternity leave being all set!!

Upcoming Appointments: So, so many. High risk stinks! My next is Jan. 17th for more ultrasounds, but they may have me come in before then to learn how to test my glucose for a week w/ the finger prick(I passed 3 glucose tests but baby has a massive tummy indicative of GD which is concerning them)
How are you feeling?: Painful most days. We thought I had SPD but after going to a PT she realized it's my extreme hypermobility. Trying to roll around in bed has my husband laughing because I sound like a whale. Luckily, however, my heart condition has only acted up once! (SVT/WPW syndrome). Braxton Hicks have also begun, but haven't bothered me too much because they are similar on the pain scale to my ovarian cysts (PCOS). Also typing this all out makes me sound like a trainwreck lol
Rants/Raves: Honestly I just want March to be here, but the thought of labor terrifies me.
Questions: Has anyone used an Evenflo pump? That's what I ended up choosing through my insurance, and it doesn't seem super popular.
GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:)
Honestly just going to either of my grandmother's houses. There's so many happy, fond, family-filled memories with them. I lost my grandma when I was 15, and my Nana in April of 2020. Every day I miss my Nana more and more because I was her youngest grandchild, and she lived with us for a time (I was the youngest by at least a decade - she had 6 kids and my mom was the youngest too). I know she'd be so excited to meet her great-granddaughter.
@Panaceia aww! Love to hear about older siblings connecting with baby!
@goldfishcraker Yay for baby dancing! Hope your GTT goes smoothly.
@kgg2241Sorry to hear you’re struggling. Try not to be too hard on yourself. I was definitely more active in my pregnancy with DS, and can tell a difference between that pregnancy and this one. Sometimes it’s just about making it through the day though!
@morgantu That’s awesome news about your maternity leave! That is very good for US! Have fun in the snow!!
@j@jessier19 good luck on your glucose test!! And I’m glad to hear you’re liking your doula! So important to have someone you’re comfortable with and can trust.

Rants/Raves: Big rave: got to see baby girl this morning, and she’s looking great! Still measuring big (about 33w, estimated weight 4lbs5oz), and got to see her practice breathing. Rave 2: my husband and I got SO much done while he was off work, I only have 3 things left on my baby prep to do list!

We usually went to Iowa to see my parents families, and I loved going to my Gram’s house. She is one of the most amazing women I’ve ever known (DD is being named for her), and I cherish any time spent with her. Plus, she’s an excellent cook/baker (probably has something to do with having to feed 8 kids on a budget lol), so you can always count on excellent noms.

How are you feeling?: tired. I get maybe one good night of sleep every week and a half and it’s so draining. Also I keep feeling guilty because my eating habits are subpar. I’ve still been working out (mildly) 4ish days a week. But only because I beat myself up if I don’t my first pregnancy I was able to do much harder workouts at this time, but I also felt better overall and didn’t have a toddler to chase. How are you feeling?: Tired, a bit overwhelmed by all the appointments in my future, but I feel like things are going to be alright.
Rants/Raves: So MFM said the placenta is back to fighting the flow of blood. Nothing to write home about today, but the doctor assured me it’s not getting any better. They still predict I’ll go early. NST and baby’s practice breathing looked good, though.
Also they said after the 11th they won’t do NST’s anymore and will only do biophysical profile scans while the regular OB will be responsible for getting in 2 NST’s a week… so pretty sure I’m guaranteed 3 weekly appointments up until delivery and I feel kinda guilty that poor DS has to be dragged along to nearly all of them because we can’t get a babysitter.

My grandmother has a very rustic lakeside cabin in a very very small town a couple hours from us. It was built in the early 1920s and we traveled there a lot every summer while I was growing up. I have so many wonderful memories there and can’t wait to take DDs there in future summers!
We are also Disney fans, so I have lots of really fun memories with family and friends there. DD1 has only been once thanks to the pandemic, but we are hoping for our first family of 4 vacation in December!

GTKY: What was a special place you loved visiting as a child, or a specific trip or vacation destination that made a big impression on you:). There was a beautiful creek/waterfall behind a very old graveyard in my parent's hometown that not many people knew about. We had to hop a fence to get in and the entrance was concealed. It was in the middle of nowhere and so old and overgrown. My dad convinced me there was a fairy kingdom there... that was my favorite place to go as a kid.
