Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out asap lol

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A canape (which seems huge?)

Upcoming appointments: In exactly 2 weeks

How are you feeling?: Exhausted! That’s really my only symptom. But when I try to lay around and rest I end up triggering a headache. So that’s been fun.

Rants/Raves: Sorry to be absent last week again. DS’s toddler room closed down the week before Christmas with multiple positive cases. So we were stuck at home in quarantine again. I also had 2 coworkers test positive, so I was also on the look out for symptoms. Luckily we both tested negative and were out of our quarantine period just in time to celebrate Christmas with everyone.

We decided to tell our close family at Christmas about the pregnancy after all. It was so nice to not have to hide it anymore. We also found out that another family member is KU but hasn’t announced to the rest of the family yet (we’re not supposed to know, shhh!). I had a feeling she was when I saw her at Thanksgiving. I’m so excited to be having LO around the same age! I can’t wait to find out what her due date is!

    Questions:

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? As always, I would like to start eating healthier and start cooking more at home. This has been an ongoing battle for the past 10 years. I really don’t see it changing any time soon. I wish I could just hire myself a cook! lol

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finding out

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: prune

Upcoming appointments: Life has been throwing us so much shit lately. I was to finally have my US Monday after it being rescheduled 3 times and I got the stomach bug and had to reschedule AGAIN. Now US and first appt are next Monday, God willing

How are you feeling?: Recovering from the stomach bug, which is about the worst thing to have when the only thing that keeps pregnancy nausea and dizziness at bay is eating

Rants/Raves: December has been a shitty month. I’m so ready to be settled in our new house (move got postponed a couple of days too thanks to my sickness) and starting the second trimester so I feel better

Questions: Anyone else have a constant bad taste? It makes the nausea worse and aside from actually having something in my mouth like a cough drop or mint (which gets rid of the bad taste but sometimes makes nausea worse), nothing has helped

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? Definitely cooking more and eating healthier. I’ve barely cooked since pregnancy nausea kicked in but tbh we had fallen into a bad habit of getting takeout a lot before that too

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a tater tot!

Upcoming appointments: had US today, will go back on 1/28 @ 14 wks

How are you feeling?: Tired, bloated, emotional

Rants/Raves: really excited but also nervous bc last year I was pregnant at the same time and it ended at 11wks... So I'm anxious as hell for this one!

    Questions:

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? to implement an attitude of gratitude. I have a New Yorker cartoon daily calendar so my goal is to write down a few things I'm grateful for on the back of each of "yesterday's cartoon."  It's cheesy but I know it works

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: team blue for now

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a strawberry

    Upcoming appointments: 1/14

How are you feeling?: nauseous and tired. Also recovering from a stomach bug so I’m glad I can tell this nausea is just from the pregnancy.

Rants/Raves: My daughters are staying at my MILs until we go down on Friday and do family Christmas. It will be nice to be kid free a couple days. Also getting our new wall ovens installed (finally).

    Questions:

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022?  I really want to try to be one of those people that does a load of laundry every day. I did this when my second was born and got out of the habit. With doing laundry for 5 people soon, I want to be able to keep up with it! Also, purging. As long as we have a boy like sneak peek says, I need to get rid of all the baby girl clothes and since this will be our last baby, get rid of baby things as the baby outgrows them.

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finding out. I don't like surprises and I'm a planner! 😆

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a lime

Upcoming appointments: first midwife appt Jan 4th

How are you feeling?: Still some mild nausea. Definitely over it! Constipation and gas which is annoying. Feeling excited every week as the 2nd trimester gets closer!

Rants/Raves: We weren't able to visit my family for Christmas cause my parents got Covid. ☹ Luckily they are doing fine now. But I rarely get to see my family since they live in Illinois (and I'm in Vermont), so that was a bummer. I'm tired of the pandemic.

Exciting thing was that we painted our 2nd bedroom (future nursery) yesterday. It's a nice grayish blue color. Very calming (and gender neutral). It was a gold-yellow color before that which I did NOT like. So the pregnancy is feeling more real!

Questions: for moms who have been pregnant before, how often did your husband/partner come to your prenatal appointments?

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022?
I'd like to do a prenatal yoga class or video once a week at least.
  • @zinnia19 The only times MH came to my appointments with my first was when we had an ultrasound scheduled. Other than that, he never came. And honestly, I don’t see why he would want to. They’re pretty boring lol (besides hearing the heartbeat on the doppler of course!)

  • @zinnia19 Same here, my husband only comes for the ultrasound appointments the rest are quick. I have to pee in a cup each appt, get vitals taken, Dr listens for the heartbeat, sees how you’re feeling, and then later in pregnancy, measures fundal height (belly). Unfortunately, he had to miss my most recent u/s. Daycare was closed and he had to be home with our daughters.

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Finding out! hopefully will get NIPT results next week

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a Lime

Upcoming appointments: currently scheduled for 1/6 but doc said i could push it back a week, i just need to get it scheduled. I was going weeky for a while so it's weird to be going back to a normal OB schedule!

How are you feeling?: Tired but a little less so. I"m doing pretty well during the day but i still feel like garbage at night.  The garbage feeling is slightly less intense though, but i'm still getting sick pretty much every night. and I still hate pretty much all food except for randomly deciding things might taste good - like on our first day of actual snow yesterday I decided a milkshake sounded good? sometimes its carrots, sometimes its veggie burgers. pregnancy is weird. Just thankful to have made it this far in this pregnancy with all looking okay so far!

Rants/Raves: Thankful our immediate family who we told a week before xmas has managed to keep things hush hush from extended family at this point, which we wanted until we get NIPT results back

Questions: When are you telling your employer/coworkers? I think i'm going to tell my boss when we meet next week for our biweekly check ins.  I work in mental health and am not sure how long i'll wait until I tell my patients

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? now that i'm starting to feel a little better, I want to get back to my morning smoothies. I also am thinking of tracking nutrition a couple days a week to help make sure i'm getting enough protein  -which is always a little big of a struggle as a vegetarian. and I cannot wait to get back to being more active as I slowly start feeling better!
  • @stardustskies Have you ever heard of Big Little Feelings? I follow them on IG and it's helped me with my parenting

@zinnia19 my first pregnancy my hubby came to the first appointment and then he came to the ones with ultrasounds.  the other ones were so quick that it didn't seem to make sense to have him take time off work.  I sill say my doc was in our town and we both worked about a 45min drive away, pre pandemic, so it didn't make sense for him to take so much time off work to come.  This time my OB office has stopped allowing partners to attend any appointments since September so he has not been to any of them - I can facetime him in but so far he's declined to

@melanier26 I[ve had random bad tastes, but often just with certain foods and then it goes away after a couple of days.  What does your OB say about it?

@gharmon412 hugs to you! i lost a pregnancy at 11 weeks earlier this year so I feel this, I just made it to 12 weeks and it's helped to feel a little better, although my last appt was 2 weeks ago and I don't go back for  2 weeks, so I"m still a little anxious until I get to see baby actually still be okay in second trimester. HOpe all gets going smoothly for you!
  • @runnergirl2018 I should probably tell my supervisor sooner rather than later. I work in a lab around hazardous chemicals, so I need to be careful. Last time I told him at like 5 weeks. This time I’m not working so closely with the most hazardous chemicals, so I’ve been ok. But I think it’s going to be hard to hide it much longer. My belly is already sticking out past my boobs lol.

  • @LJMoon6 that's probably smart!  I work in a private practice and I'm not at our main location, so it's just me and one other therapist at my office. I only see my supervisor weekly on video chat at our group meeting and we talk biweekly on the phone for check ins. But my belly is becoming more obvious and i'm sure my patients and coworker are going to notice/question soon. I know my supervisor had failed IVF this past year and i definitely didn't want to bring anything up before the holidays but i think it's time
  • @LJMoon6 I had to look up canape to know what it was lol. I think you're so right though! Isn't baby less than an inch long or so around 9-10 weeks? A canape looks like it would be at least twice that size.

@stardustskies that sounds like a hard resolution but I bet it will be so rewarding.

@melanier26 omg sending you all the luck in the world that you'll finally have your US appointment! That's SO frustrating! So many people are getting sick lately and it freaking sucks!

@gharmon412 it's tough getting to those milestones. Really hoping everything continues to look good for you!

@sunshineandlemons did we all catch a stomach bug?? I was feeling awful on Monday and couldn't keep stuff down. Might have been my terrible eating over the Christmas holiday. I think in total I probably had at least 2 full bottles of sparkling grape juice so I definitely overdid it on the sugar :astonished:

@zinnia19 I think they say shades of yellow are the hardest paint colors to like or find the right shade for a room. A grayish blue sounds lovely! We've had a particular room set as the future nursery since we moved into our house like... 8 years ago and painted it gray (I think it's a greenish gray) knowing full well that we wanted the walls to be neutral regardless of what we have. It became the dumping ground room so there's a lot to clear out of there. Good thing we've got time. On your appt question - my understanding is most appointments (per my OB) will be quick 10 minute appointments. Presumably just to check in and make sure everything is going okay. Considering my DH would have to drive like a half hour from his work to get to where my appointments are, it's not worth him attending unless it is an US appointment.

@runnergirl2018 not gonna lie a milkshake sounds good to me too! Are you also in the midwest? We just got our first snow last night too. Actually, not too long ago I was getting Wendy's frosties (frosty's?) and french fries when I was feeling really down. Didn't care that it was 50 some degrees at the time, the combination sounded really good.

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team finding out! Blood was drawn for the NIPT last week so hopefully the results come soon.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: TB says baby can fit on a Reese's cup

Upcoming appointments: Ultrasound tomorrow. Had a follow up call with the RI and have officially graduated from his care!

How are you feeling?: doing really well. Having some stomach issues. Think I over-indulged in a few things at Christmas and that just wrecked havoc on my digestive system. Still dealing with lots of tiredness but that's mostly in the evening (and then having a hard time getting out of bed of course haha).

Rants/Raves: Rant and rave - we've initiated the process to get out home reno project going. Problem is the guy told us cabinets are taking 4 months to get! Ugh. I hope we're not down to the wire getting the house finished days before baby is due. We need to schedule an appointment to start making selections to get a budgetary number from the contractor. So who knows when we'll actually get things on order *sigh*. Another rave is that I get to start weaning off some of the meds I'm on now that we're reaching the end of 1st tri. yay!!

    Questions: NATM

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? I need to get better about how often I'm washing the dishes. I've been so bad about it lately. I had a bit of a meltdown because I thought the dishwasher had been ran the day before but it didn't because DH had filled it and it wasn't super full so he waited. Winter is just a bad time for me - so sluggish and slow at times. Also I'm going to try really really hard to take better care of the new pans I was gifted. I have a couple that are so black from use (especially the one that started off as lime green :#). Hey at least you can tell they are well used.

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? I hope I can keep up my routine I've been trying to do the 2nd half of this year: walk a lot, yoga 2x/wk, cardio when I can. (I'd like to up this to a set # of times a week, but it was hard to think about being nauseous and tired all the time.
  • @inthewoods23 my husband just tested positive for covid so I’m imagining I’ll have to reschedule the ultrasound…again. I’m starting to think I won’t see this baby until it’s born 😂 Also doing dishes might be my least favorite thing in the world. I’m bad about letting them pile up then getting overwhelmed. I don’t know why…just an irrational hatred lol
  • @LJMoon6 so with you on wishing to be a pe to hire a cook. For me it's the continual planning and prepping and wanting to try new things but also stuff our kids will eat that gets overwhelming

@stardustskies I hope the iron helps you! When I started taking iron supplements with my first is when my constipation got much worse just FYI

@melanier26 sorry YH tested positive. I hope you can still get your US

@gharmon412 I like the daily gratitude idea

@sunshineandlemons enjoy the couple kid free days!

@zinnia19 with our first DH came to more appointments- for sure US and then some more as well. With our 2nd, he just came for the US ones because we don't have a ton of babysitting options nearby. Both of those pregnancies we're pre-pandemic though

@runnergirl2018 also thinking of telling coworkers soon. I'm a school based PT and I'd sooner tell teachers before they start guessing it

@inthewoods23 that's exciting about the home renovation! Crazy how long home stuff is still taking

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? I'd like to continue exercising 3-4 times per week. Especially the first 6 months plan more date nights with DH, knowing that'll get harder come July. And leave my phone in room when interacting and playing with my kids
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 13 weeks 3 days - July 4th

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: We got our NIPT results back and we are... TEAM PINK! So excited for DD to have a little sister and to get to see all her cute outfits worn again!

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Lemon

    Upcoming appointments: January 13th

How are you feeling?: Better now (see below)

Rants/Raves: DH and I have been dealing with food poisoning the past two days - extra rough when you're already exhausted and nauseous from being pregnant.

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? I'd like to be on my phone less. Need to be better about putting down the phone and living in the moment.

@LJMoon6 - I'm glad you all tested negative and were able to enjoy Christmas with your family!

@stardustskies - How are you feeling with covid? Are you all recovered now?

@melanier26 and @sunshineandlemons - Solidarity on the stomach bug my friends! Hope you are both feeling much better now!

@gharmon412 - Every time someone says tator tot it makes me crave them... yet I still haven't had any! Putting them on my grocery list now haha

@zinnia19 - My husband didn't get to come to any of my appointments with DD (thanks to covid), but he has been able to come to them this time - he tags along if I have an ultrasound! And I'll probably make him come to the appointment for the glucose test because I didn't feel great afterwards last time [so he can drive].

@runnergirl2018 - I've had the strangest cravings this pregnancy too! I had zero with my daughter - so it's been weird this time around! I was planning on telling my boss this week, but I've been out sick - so probably next week.

@inthewoods23 - Ohhh congrats on graduating from the RI!!! So exciting! I can't wait to see pics of your house reno!

@velvetblue88 - Yes, the pillow is so comfy, but makes it so hard to get out of bed haha

@sjb2215 - I hope your have a great NYE birthday dinner!
  • @inthewoods23 yes! I’m in the Chicago area. Are you a midwesterner too? We moved back from FL last year and I’m not excited about winter although glad hours of daylight are starting to get a little longer. Good luck with the reno! We moved into a new house in May and have been doing nothing but renovation. I’m making hubby wait on anything else but until after baby because I can’t even imagine all the delays right now! We ordered doors for a room we are closing in for my office in July. Expected early October. Came in late November badly damaged. I might finally have them in February. Maybe. 🤪 hopefully before baby comes because I hope to do Telehealth from home to help transition back to work
  • @melanier26 oh no!! It's just comical at this point 🤦‍♀️😆

@velvetblue88 would you like to share some of your energy? 😆 Once it's evening I am SO tired

@sjb2215 it's crazy. My poor parents were hoping to start building their new house in November but their new neighborhood still needs to have the roads paved so now they can't break ground until March! I hope they start getting things ordered ahead of time so they can get started ASAP. They were hoping to be in the house come July but now it sounds like Thanksgiving next year might even be a difficult date to meet.

@feather_heather feel better! I had some kind of stomach bug on Monday and I just felt terrible. Still not 100%. I'd like to not be sick anymore please.

@runnergirl2018 I'm just north of you in WI! I struggle so hard with the lack of daylight starting in October. Then I'm good for like a week when we fall back an hour and it's light again in the morning. Followed by struggling into January 😫. I have a friend building a house that they will move into at the end of January but their front door won't arrive until February. My goodness haha

  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: Jan 24/10w4d if I go by the Dr. I think I’m more like 11w2d though.

    FTM/STM/STM+: STM+ (#4)

    Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: green

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Lego man

    Upcoming appointments: Jan 12

How are you feeling?: the nausea has subsided a bit, but the heartburn and acid reflux has begun

Rants/Raves: just taking it day by day

    Questions:

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? Less time on my phone. I already deleted social media a few days ago to help.
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 13+1 due July 7th

    FTM/STM/STM+: TTM

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Team Blue (95% sure)

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Lemon

Upcoming appointments: I have another midwife appointment sometime in January, I don’t remember when

How are you feeling?: Frustrated. Still dealing with some nausea/gagging crap. I can finally eat everything at home/from the grocery store. And eat the same thing for a couple days. But I still feel too crappy to work or be productive most days. It’s better but it’s not better enough and I am so over it. My scale also took a dump and I can’t get it to work properly anymore so I have no idea what my weight is doing now.

    Rants/Raves:
Rant: still craving cheese. Still can’t have it 😭 sigh.

Rave: I’ve been making pancakes and salsa both of which have been delish. Hoping to make cookies this weekend now that my love of chocolate has finally returned

    Questions:

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? Ooh yes! I’m a big New Years resolution person. I’ve learned over the years how to properly implement. SLOW AND STEADY!  I literally make out charts of how I’m going to slowly implement changes.

    1) Better self care routines
    2) Nearly eliminate social media and replace with better things
    3) Get my kids started on regular chores (they help but I want more consistency)
    4) Implement a better savings strategy
    5) pay off and cut the credit cards

not really a news years resolution but: I’ve been wanting to move for a long time but that all hinges on my husband getting a new job. He’s been looking and applying regularly for a year now and still nothing. I hope 2022 is finally our year to get out of this limbo.

    Baby #3 Due: July 7th, 2022
(maybe I only ovulate in October XD)
  • @inthewoods23 I have more energy, but not a lot. 😆 I'd share if I could.

@lilirunning34 Disconnecting from social media is a fantastic idea! I've been Facebook less and less this year... Maybe it's time.

@tuxielove93 I love the planning (with or without charts). Change happens and is easier to maintain if you start 1 small step at a time...
  • Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 7/29 or 7/30 - 10 weeks today

FTM/STM/STM+: 5TM but twins this go around

Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: want to stay green, but doing genetic testing due to age and identicals having higher rate of chromosomal abnormalities. Unsure how I’ll go about that.

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: they’re as big as strawberries!

Upcoming appointments: 1/10 — ultrasounds every 2 weeks to my knowledge. Hopefully we confirm they’re mono-di at this appt.

How are you feeling?: nervous. More bleeding scares and also it just doesn’t feel real.

Rants/Raves: we were going to announce in a couple of weeks, but I want to have the genetic screening back first. That makes it feel like forever away.

    Questions: not yet!

GTKY: Got any new year resolutions or better habits you'd like to implement for 2022? Less screen time for me and for the kids! I already deleted some SM in august, which helped.

    BFP #1: 4/2/12 -- DD born 12/15/12. BFP #2: 4/1/14 -- CP. BFP #3: 4/28/14 -- EDD 1/10/15

    Jan 15  NOV siggy challenge:

  • @inthewoods23 same - I"ve always joked that i'm solar powered.  we moved back about a year or so ago from FL and i worked from home last winter but not this year - it really hit  me this year how dark it gets early and Im not a fan!  that's crazy about your friends house! We've postponed a lot of home renovations due to recent increases in cost of supplies and just getting access to supplies - and the only reason we were able to hire a painter for some hard to paint interior spaces is because my FIL has had a long time friend who owns a painting company.  everyone else pretty much laughed at us,  thankfully we were able to paint most of things ourselves - but it's crazy out there!
