I have a baby bed set for my daughter in her room, but this is the first baby that our rooms are not practically one room, and I'm thinking about using a play pen with the netting bed top part thing lol, but I'm nervous because I've never used them before or a bassinet just a bed

Welcome! A pack and play with an integrated bassinet (which is what I think you are describing in your post) is a great option for baby to sleep in until they outgrow it based on length, weight, or milestone (such as ability to push up on hands and knees).
