    FTM/STM/TTM+: 4th

Upcoming Appointments or Results: boring appointment on Jan 5th

How are you feeling?:  Pretty good! Some headaches, I get weak feeling if I don’t eat often enough, back gets a bit sore.

Rants/Raves: Rave: The weekend this baby was conceived we went away for a wedding.  On Saturday we found out a 3rd couple who attended this wedding also conceived there!  Idk what was in the water, but what are the chances that 3 couples would have all conceived in one wedding weekend!?
Rant: DH just sent me a text as I was writing this that he invited his friend and his friends girlfriend over for dinner Thursday. Does this man want me to lose my mind? We’re hosting Christmas here. I have waaaaaaaay too much cleaning and baking/cooking to do to be hosting people for dinner.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: NIPT came back last week, prenatal and carrier were all good

How are you feeling?: I’m doing ok. Nausea is still around but continues to be manageable. The abdominal discomfort is getting to me though. It’s the second time after deadlifts I’m having trouble. Two point trend means I probably need to cut back on weight, which is incredibly disheartening. I can’t find other people online with this experience this early. My next appointment with the ob is Dec 30th so I’ll ask about it then.

Rants/Raves: Had a nice weekend with the in laws. We finally told them and they were very excited. Now we’re back home and I have the week off work to do whatever Christmas things I want, which is good because I’ve done almost no Christmas shopping.

    Questions: Nope.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: routine appointment on the 28th.

How are you feeling?: I felt amazing yesterday I was able to eat, and I had the energy to go out and do stuff and I felt normal. Today I’m back to feeling like crap. I think being able to sleep in later than 6am is needed.

Rants/Raves: Oceanspray Cranberry Raspberry has changed my life. If I drink it I stop puking. Is there a scientific reason behind it? Don’t think so. Would it work for other people? Probably not. But other juices don’t stop the puking and this one does. Also. Unrelated to my juice we bought our house back in March. My partner has finally begun gutting the nursery so that he can get all the old nasty drywall out and put in the new window. Then her room can get put together.

    Questions: Nope.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Next MFM appointment on 1/5. NIPT results came back as low risk and that we're having a boy!

How are you feeling?: Still tired, but I think my appetite in the evenings is coming back and I don't feel like crap as much, so yay! Can't wait to hit 2nd tri this week.

Rants/Raves: Rave - we had a nice weekend, saw some friends, went out to dinner. Rant - I had the worst nightmare last night, death related again...this time about both DH and I dying and leaving our kids alone. I woke up in complete tears, terrified. It's scary to go to sleep these days, these crazy dreams keep re-occurring :(

Questions: Those who got the booster already, any side effects or issues? I'm scheduled to get mine on Sunday and I'm a bit nervous.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: 27th. I get to meet the new doctor that may be delivering my baby since the current will possibly be out of town when this one is due.

How are you feeling?: Getting better every week. Still exhausted and having some nausea in the morning but overall much better.

Rants/Raves: rave. I am so excited for Christmas this year. My daughter has been so into it and it just makes everything so much more fun.

Questions: Is anyone else having a hard time eating protein? I am a vegetarian but I've never had a problem reaching my protein goal before but all the high protein foods are just a turn off. I force myself to sip on a protein shake during the day but that is about the best I can do. All I can get down is carbs and veggies.
  • @Tulips29 I got my booster on Thursday and I felt great on Friday, not at all how I felt after second dose.  My only complaint was my arm was super sore, but I think that was on the nurse who gave it to me.  She did something that felt weird.

@ournextadventure I’m not a vegetarian, but don’t eat a ton of meat bc of texture etc.  I’m definitely having a hard time with protein.  I see to do okay with eggs but my soy based substitutes are grossing me.

@marionberry19 Cranberry Raspberry sounds so refreshing! I’ve been mixing juices like that with seltzer and it makes me feel fancy, like I’ve got a cocktail.

@pinkkillersheep sorry you’re having to alter your work out already.  Enjoy your week off!
  • @KFrob That’s crazy about the wedding!
@marionberry19 As a fan of cran-raspberry juice, I can definitely think of worse things to have to drink everyday. Glad you found something that works for you.
@Tulips29 I got my booster and had minimal side effects. My arm was sore but otherwise nothing that couldn’t have also just been pregnancy symptoms.
@ournextadventure DH and I prefer to eat vegetarian but I’ve largely abandoned it during pregnancy because of protein struggles. But things I’ve been trying for variety and to help with fatigue are nut butter (either straight or added to toast) and mixing in beans, lentils, high protein grains like quinoa, etc with dinner.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: June 13th / 15weeks

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Upcoming Appointments or Results:  December 29th for a normal OB visit.  I don't think this is an ultrasound, but I don't know what to expect?  I have some questions I want to talk to her about, but what do these appts typically include?

How are you feeling?:  Still nauseous despite my best efforts to pretend that being in the 2nd trimester means I feel better.  Denial isn't getting me anywhere.  Finally taking b6 and I do think it helps.

Rants/Raves: My abdomen and back are killing me - my abdomen feels so stretched and I struggle with lower back pain and sciatica and it's really acting up.  I cannot get comfortable when I sleep!

Questions: Is it dangerous to sleep on my back at 15 weeks?  It's the only way I'm comfortable, but I read it can be dangerous.

@KFrob - what did you do about hosting Thursday?  You can probably pull it off - I get the impression you are a super woman!
@marionberry19 congrats on tackling the nursery project - do you have plans yet for what you want it to look like?
@Tulips29 I've been having scary dreams too, and very restless.  I guess it's stress trying to process itself.  I hate that I'm so stressed - I want to be zen for the baby!  I need to work on that.  I also had about 24-36 hours of exhaustion but no awful side effects from the booster and I was really wrecked by the 2nd shot, so good luck!

  • @shoarmie99 lol thank you! DH has assured me that everything will be fine.  I told him he needs to run these things by me first in the future. Is it crazy to try to sleep with a pillow under one side on your back? You should be okay as long as you’re not flat and can some how prop yourself up.
  • @shoarmie90 I sleep on my back naturally and asked my doctor at 13 weeks about it. She said that it is better to sleep on side but you will notice when it becomes dangerous. She said normally around 20 weeks you will find it painful to sleep on your back and that is when you know you shouldn't. She recommended what @kfrob stated, To kinda tilt one side up with a pillow to keep the uterus from placing a ton of pressure on your back.
  • Thanks for the booster feedback! Hoping it'll be just arm soreness for me also.

@shoarmie99 I try to sleep on my side (left mainly as that's recommended after I think 26 weeks). But I end up on my back a lot also. I wake up frequently to turn though, so I think it's ok? As long as you're not consciously going to sleep on your back but try on the side, you should be ok. I'd do the pillow as well or get a body pillow so you're sorta leaning against it when on your back and you're not fully flat.

@KFrob I'd just order takeout and call it a day. Or get some Costco ready meals and serve them in pretty dishes lol. One couple is better than a bunch of unexpected guests I guess.

@ournextadventure I had that with my 1st, couldn't eat protein. Unfortunately, have no solutions, but on the bright side, it went away once the baby came.

@pinkkillersheep enjoy the week off! Sounds so nice and peaceful.

@marionberry19 I could taste the refreshing juice flavor reading about it lol. It sounds good, and if it helps with puking, have all the juice you can stomach! I had a mix of a cranberry/seltzer/blueberry/lime drink at dinner last night and it truly felt like a fancy cocktail like @KFrob said. So good!

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Had an NT today - everything looks good and we got some great pictures of our (very active) little gymnast. Have monthly check 12/29. Stilllllll waiting on carrier screening and 3 full weeks so far feels like a very long time.

How are you feeling?: Slightly more energy - was able to finish the Christmas decorations this weekend. Just as nauseated about the thought/smell of most animal proteins that aren't either fried or slathered in a delicious sauce. Despite my odd eating, still down a pound from pre-pregnancy because I basically live off of fruit and protein/fruit smoothies.

Rants/Raves: Finally found some decent maternity pant options - both leggings that are well disguised as work pants and jeans, and not obscenely long (check out Liverpool Jeans on their website).

Questions: Similarly to what was asked above, what routinely happens at monthly checks in between the "big ones" (dating, NT, Anatomy)?
  • @hillies22 my monthly visits are just a quick ultrasound to make sure everything is ok and a chat with the doctor about what to expect in the coming weeks, what to do, what not to do, answer any questions, etc. Glad you were able to find some good pant options, that's always a struggle.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Had a regular appointment Friday. All was well- heartbeat 150.

How are you feeling?: Overall so much better. Still tired but not exhausted. Feeling incredibly full even when barely eating lately.

Rants/Raves: I’m trying to enjoy the holiday season. Everything just feels so rushed. We are traveling three weekends in a row. I wish we had more time at home so we could do things on the weekend when I have energy.

@hillies72 My appointments are just pee in a cup, measure uterus, and Doppler heartbeat. Super low key

  • @hillies72 mine are the same as @bww_0331.  I spend more time driving there than at the actual appointment.

@Tulips29 we were already planning on ordering Chinese.  But we were ordering out bc we didn’t have time to cook.  But I’m like come on DH, if I don’t have time to cook dinner I don’t have time to hang out for hours.  Ugh. I’m too annoyed and tired to socialize lol.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: EDD 6/10, 15w4d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: No appts again until 18 week ultrasound and check up on 1/17 & 1/18

How are you feeling?: Feeling fine most of the time, although still have intermittent nausea and tiredness.

Rants/Raves: Excited for Christmas this year and wishing a very merry one for those who celebrate!

Questions: Not baby related - I'm struggling with dry skin this year. I'm not sure if it's pregnancy related or due to our new house that has a different type of heating system than we'd been accustomed to, but my normal moisturizer is not cutting it. I'm currently using the Tatcha water cream. Anything working for you guys? I do still break out from time to time, so I can't use anything really thick that clogs pores.

@tulips29 I had my booster on Friday and aside from the arm soreness, I felt really tired Saturday afternoon but I went to bed early and felt as good as new the next day! So glad I got it.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Jan 4

How are you feeling?: blah as in I just have no energy for anything.

    Rants/Raves:

Sorry I haven't been on for awhile things got a bit crazy on my end.

I got my nipt results back and I'm excited to surprise everyone. The kids are gonna be doubly surprised since i still haven't told them about being pregnant lol.

I JUST finished Christmas shopping. Since I found out my results so late I couldn't do the advent calendar gender reveal/pregnancy announcement with the girls so instead I got 4huge nesting gift boxes and each will have a hint in it. Bracelets that says big, middle and little sister, baby bottle pop candy, a set of twin dolls one boy, one girl and a set of gender reveal confetti cannons(no powder)
I'm excited for them to put it all together. Lol.

    Questions: how is everyone?

@hillies22 Pretty much just measure your stomach, use the doppler to hear heartbeat, and ask if I have any questions. They are quick and boring.

Rants/Raves: I am so tired all day, but then wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep.
    Questions: Anyone feeling baby yet?

Random thought: Gerber came out with these cute food sleepers and I want to buy some, but I've committed to myself that I won't buy anything until after the anatomy scan.
    Pregnancy TickerSaveSave
  • @binxybaby I'm feeling baby every once in a while! I have an anterior placenta so it's really hard to tell but depending on what position I'm in, I definitely think I feel them!
  • @casper1118 that's a cute announcement idea. We haven't told our kids yet either, going to this weekend. Curious how my almost 5yo will react. The 2 year old won't know the difference I think.

@binxybaby I don't think I am, but I'm not sure. There have been times, especially when I lay in bed on my side, I think I feel something. But it's not every time and happens so slightly that it makes me wonder. If I remember correctly, I think I started feeling 1st one around 18-20 week mark and maybe 16-18 weeks the 2nd time. I can't wait though!

    @kfrob @binxybaby @bww_0331 thank you!!

@casper1118 love your announcement idea! Let us know how it goes!
  • @krob That would stress me out having company that close to Christmas. Too much to get done.

@ournextadventure I am vegetarian as well. I really should try drinking a protein shake or protein bar because I don't think I get enough. My soymilk has a lot of protein. I used to love it but it grosses me out now. Hopefully, I will like it again.

@shoarmie99 I read it was best to sleep on the left side, but I still end up on my back. I had a pregnancy pillow last time and it really helped and was comfortable.

@hillies22 At my appointments, it is weight, blood pressure, pee in a cup and ultrasound.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Just had an appointment on Saturday, they did the quad test (blood test), so waiting for those results. Not too worried about it. Learned from US that my placenta is a little too close to my cervix, so I shouldn't do any exercise. I wasn't worried until my aunt told me she had placenta previa that caused a stillbirth! So.. trying to take it easy until the next appointment, I guess?

How are you feeling?: Still throwing up about 2X a week which is just.. disappointing. Also getting random headaches and pain/soreness in my lower back. Where is the 2nd trimester energy and glow??

Rants/Raves: I'm a teacher and this week my winter break started! I am loving being home and not having to "pull myself together" for work every day.

Questions: How do you STM+ do this with kids at home??? I always thought I wanted 3 or so kids... but now.. I just can't imagine it. Pregnancy has been so much harder than I anticipated!
  • @idreamofginny My skin care routine is Biossance eye gel and dark spot serum plus Farmacy Honey Halo face moisturizer. A friend bought the moisturizer for me and I really liked it, but it is definitely thicker than what you’re using so I would recommend sampling it first to see how it feels for you.

@casper1118 I am equally riding the struggle bus with fatigue. It’s been significantly worse than the first trimester, which is disappointing. But otherwise feeling pretty good and staying healthy! Your announcement sounds so cute :)

@binxybaby I thought I did this morning but it’s so early it was probably in my head or just gas.

@romeoandjuliet146 Any shows in particular you’re looking forward to? Now that Succession is over I’m suffering from that “end of favorite show” void.

@ermsmcg I’m also feeling pretty bitter about all the apps saying I should be feeling great now. Hopefully you have some relief coming soon. Enjoy the winter break and get some rest!
