  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 12w2d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Waiting on fetal NIPT results. Carrier screening somehow came through already and was fine.

How are you feeling?: Week 12 has definitely felt worse than previous weeks. I’m a little salty about it because all the “This week in your pregnancy!” type things are super positive about feeling better now. But overall I’m still doing ok.

Rants/Raves: I live in Kentucky and have just felt heartbroken all weekend. I believe there’s at least one more person on this board also from KY and hope you’re ok. We were fortunate to be a couple hours away from the worst of it, but we did have a tree take out our cabin and DH’s truck while he was out there the next morning. Nobody was hurt so all in all we’re feeling very fortunate.

Questions: Anyone else already feeling like their abs are splitting apart? I felt really awful last night and was struggling to get off the couch because of how strange my core felt in trying to support me. I didn’t expect that feeling so soon and am not sure if something is wrong. Also getting worried about a UTI because of pain while peeing last night, but it was fine this morning so maybe it was cramping instead of an infection?

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: My December 29th appointment was moved to January 4th. Kind of sad because the 29th is the day before my birthday and was hoping for a new US pic of her but I get that it’s a holiday week and OB of course deserves time off!

How are you feeling?: Better with the zofran but see my rant below:

Rants/Raves: Rant: sorry for the TMI. Zofran poops are hell. Last night I felt like it was rehearsal for birth. I’ve never pushed like that in my life. I was holding onto the wall and screaming! I’ve been taking colace and miralax and it’s been no help yet. I had a rave, but I forgot thanks to the pregnancy brain hahaha.

  • @pinkkillersheep week 12 was when things got worse for me, too! I was throwing up more and gagging out of no where. I hope you start to feel better soon.
  • Sorry y’all, a little late to getting this up

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 15w5d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Upcoming Appointments or Results:

How are you feeling?: I'm feeling better. Having horrible back pain. I feel like my belly is growing super fast and is carrying so low. It makes it a little uncomfortable to move around already.

Rants/Raves: super excited that i'm starting to feel little baby kicks on the regular. They are tiny but for sure there.

    Questions:

@pinkkillersheep I'm sorry you are feeling so bad. Also, I'm so glad you guys were able to stay safe. I'm sorry you guys are going through that. I know it is so scary.
I've also starting to feel some pain in my abs also spreading to my back. I thought about checking with my doctor. I didn't have this my first pregnancy but I am much more toned than I was that pregnancy so I'm wondering if it the extra muscle mass causing the pain. Hoping you don't have an UTI and it was just cramping.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 13w3d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: 4th

Upcoming Appointments or Results:  Still in the never ending waiting period for our NIPT results.

How are you feeling?:  Better!  Friday was rough, I was nauseous all day but I've been feeling good all weekend.  Energy is coming back, but still not back to normal.  I have another yeast infection ugh.

Rants/Raves:  DH and I got a Hello Fresh box this weekend and it was amazing.  We use cooking together as a date night.  We have fun doing it and it's so much cheaper than going out to a restaurant plus we get to wear sweat pants.  Another rave is my Old Navy maternity sweat pants.  They are a gift from the heavens.

    Questions:

@ournextadventure I swear I felt some movement this weekend!  So exciting!

@pinkkillersheep glad everyone is safe but sorry about the cabin and truck.  I feel like sometimes if I'm not hydrating enough and then drink something irritating like soda I get the UTI feeling.  I usually chug water and it goes away.  Hopefully it's not a UTI!

@furmama2babymama Fiber cereal (Raisin Bran, Shredded Wheat, Etc) and Benefiber mixed in my coffee are my pregnancy constipation lifesavers.
  • @ournextadventure That’s interesting muscle tone may be making a difference for you. I deadlifted a new weight yesterday and am wondering if this is just what the natural muscle tear and rebuild will feel like. (My ob hasn’t expressed any concerns about my exercise regiment so I haven’t pulled back at all yet.) It’s not a sharp pain and there’s no spotting so I think it’s fine. I’ve also dropped back to pre-pregnancy weight which really surprised me, but I’m thinking all the growth has me at a calorie deficit now. Good excuse to ramp up the snacking a bit!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: June 19. 13 w 1 d

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: appointment on dec 28. Waiting on carrier screening results.

How are you feeling?: better but still nauseous.

Rants/Raves: so my regular OB appointments are two hours away. I just found out for my anatomy scan I have to drive 4 hours to UCSF. Wild to be that with my son my tiny little local hospital can do it but the massive one I am delivering at this time outsources to UCSF??

Questions: confession and question? I hate being pregnant this time around. I’m miserable and I feel guilty because I loved being pregnant with my son. I felt and looked amazing. This time around I feel and look like a troll . Is anyone else experiencing this?
  • @marionberry19 *virtual hugs* While I don’t have the added guilt of comparing to a previous pregnancy, I hear you on hating this. Despite the fact this was a planned and wanted pregnancy, there is no part of me enjoying it. I’ve broken down crying feeling like I’ve ruined my life on numerous occasions and feel so sad that I’m not sharing in the joy other people feel for me.

A couple other tags to catch up on…
@furmama2babymama Whew that bathroom experience sounds intense! I hope some of the recommendations you get on here will help!
@KFrob That sounds like a really nice date night. It’s so great you guys still make time to enjoy each other!
  • @marrionberry19 I hate pregnancy too. I hated it my first time. I was so sick the whole pregnancy I ended up with lots of complications and it was just a scary miserable feeling. This pregnancy has been easier but my anxiety is so high because of how bad my first was i'm scared of going through that again. I think it is okay to hate being pregnant it doesn't change how much you love your children. Pregnancies are all different and unfortunately mine have been pretty miserable. Its worth it in the end and your love for your baby is what matters not how much you hate being pregnant.
  • @marionberry19 and @pinkkillersheep I’m feeling the same way and super guilty. I’ve enjoyed each pregnancy less and less.  With DD1 I was super in-shape, had energy, my skin was amazing. I never felt sexier.  Now I feel old, tired, out of shape, exhausted, unhealthy and I’m broken out.  Plus I’m tired of not feeling well. I keep hoping getting into the second trimester I will start to
enjoy it more.  I hate that I’m giving this baby such negative vibes.  DH and I had a talk about my lack of self-care and I’m also hoping some changes we’re making will help me mentally. I hope you ladies start to feel better and can find some enjoyable parts but if you don’t that’s okay too. This shit is hard.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Normal check-in with OBGYN this Friday. Getting my booster on Friday as well.

How are you feeling?: After feeling better all weekend and most of last week, I'm suddenly nauseous again. The break was good, but I'm ready to be over this part of pregnancy given I'm now in the second trimester!

Rants/Raves: We were able to travel to PA to visit my family this weekend. My uncle owns a golf course and turns it into this amazing light show every year and it was so fun to take our 3 year old. We got takeout pizza and had a pizza party in the car while my husband drove us around to see the lights. It was so fun! Also got to see my family which is always a bonus. Getting back to reality today is tough.

@marionberry19 I can't imagine traveling 4 hours for the anatomy scan. That's intense!

@KFrob @ournextadventure @pinkkillersheep I’m sorry you ladies aren’t enjoying this either, but it makes me feel better than I am not alone in my misery.

@idreamofginny the only bright side to the 4 hours is that San Fransisco has amazing food so I have an excuse to go there and eat.
  • @marionberry19 I was recruited by one of the big tech firms in Silicon Valley that rhymes with Snapple and I have to say, I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the three trips I took out to the Bay Area! Since I'm an East Coaster, I was up at like 3 or 4 in the morning every time and ended up either taking long drives in my rental car up the PCH or going into San Francisco pre-traffic, stopping to enjoy some killer breakfasts along the way! I will say, however, that I find the pizza and Italian food to be lacking out there! Asian on the other hand is A++!
  • @ournextadventure totally worth it!

How are you feeling?: Not well, like I'm moving through jello, very carsick.  Last night I had the worst headache that kept me up all night.  Any tips besides Tylenol for headaches?

Rants/Raves: I've been enjoying Netflix Christmas movies - they've out-Hallmarked Hallmark! I'm ready to have my energy back and feel better!

Questions:  I have my booster tomorrow - so happy to get it, but worried because the 2nd shot made me really sick for 48 hours.  Anyone have any tips?

@pinkkillersheep I am with you - I was so excited to feel better in week 12 and I'm in week 14 and the last two weeks have been the worst.  I hope you come around the corner soon!  Also, I'm very prone to UTIs and sometimes I feel symptoms of one when I'm not drinking enough water, but as soon as I really get hydrated, the symptoms go away.  If they persist talk to your doctor, bc I know they can be common during pregnancy and I had one and got a pregnancy safe antibiotic right away (UTIs are the worst!)

@marionberry19 I am not enjoying being pregnant either and I am so grateful to be pregnant so it's very confusing.  I feel tired and carsick and sorta stupid all the time lol.  And I don't feel like I have a cute bump, I just feel overweight.  And the things I like to eat that are healthy make me puke.  Hopefully we all feel better soon.

@KFrob @ournextadventure What do the "movements" feel like?  I don't think I've felt anything like that yet but can't wait!
  • @shoarmie99 I got my booster last Monday and couldn’t discern between side effects and general pregnancy awfulness, but I may have just been fortunate to not get wiped out by it. Hopefully you experience the same! Also I am ALL about the Christmas movies. I jumped on the Hallmark train like seven or eight years ago and am super excited everyone else has followed suit with their own movies.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Regular appt Friday

How are you feeling?: Better than I have been. Wish I could figure out eating to where I feel full but not gross, but not nauseous, but not hungry.

Rants/Raves: Rant- I'm so swamped at work.  Everything is a mess.  I loved my job but there's been a lot of turnover the last few months and now I'm doing two roles + we have 2 grants to write in the next 45 days.  I feel like I can't keep up with anything in life.

    Questions: None

I'm sorry so many others are in the "hating pregnancy" camp as well, but I'll be honest...my other two BMBs everyone seemed so much more chipper and I was like...uh, this sucks.  So I'm sorry so many others are in this camp but I feel SEEN!

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 12+1, June 26th

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: January 4th for a routine OB visit

How are you feeling?: Past the worst of it, but still some nausea and fatigue. Wanting that 2nd trimester feeling to kick in!

Rants/Raves: My son was quarantined from daycare again. He was quarantined just before Thanksgiving and again now. I am all for being safe, but this does make preparing for Christmas a lot harder. I want to make sure this is a special one for him since his present next June is going to throw him for a loop lol

Questions: Since we're discussing baby movements, did any STM/STM+ experience phantom baby kicks when not pregnant? I'm not sure I'll recognize what early baby kicking feels like because I'm so used to just weird twitches in my abdomen.
    Pregnancy TickerSaveSave
  • shoarmie99 I describe the early baby kicks to kinda feel very similiar to gas bubbles but with a mixture of butterflies. I think the second time around its much easier to tell. I didn't feel anything with my first until like 18 weeks and i swear i was feeling something at around 13 weeks with this one and i know for sure what i'm feeling now is baby kicks.
@binxybaby I had the phantom movements for about a year after i had my first it is such an odd feeling. But they have been gone for a while now so it wasn't a problem for me so i don't have much help there.
  • @shoarmie99 i meant to add i had my booster a while ago and I had some exhaustion from it but nothing bad. I ran fever and had horrible aches with my first shots. My husband had no reaction with his first shots and then had a fever and couldn't stay awake after his booster.

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

Upcoming Appointments or Results: OB checkup today. Patiently waiting for NIPT results as well

How are you feeling?: Evenings are still a struggle. This week had a few days of feeling extra crappy and nauseous in the evening. Hoping I can start feeling better soon.

Rants/Raves: Rave - we've been celebrating my daughter's birthday since Saturday so it's been fun to be in celebration mode albeit feeling crappy. I kind of forgot about my nausea for a hot second while all my attention as been elsewhere. Rant - so I went for my NIPT scan last week and the ultrasound tech couldn't get the baby's neck measurements for quite a while since baby was turned the wrong way. She kept pressing on my belly pretty hard, shaking it around trying to get the baby to move. Then she had to switch to a vaginal ultrasound to try to see things that way. But the baby wasn't turning the way she needed and the tech legit kept shaking the ultrasound wand inside of me from side to side pretty hard trying to get the baby to move. I was so uncomfortable (physically) but also mentally because it felt so invasive. I didn't say anything as I was also very nervous that the baby wasn't turning and she kept going at it pretty hard. An OJ+ sugary snack finally helped move the baby around, but I've been in pain down there since last week. It feels like I have a muscle bruise down there. It goes away here and there, but when I sit for a long time, I feel the pain when I get up, like I have a sore muscle...I guess that's the best way I can describe it. I'm going to discuss with my OB later today, but I'm kind of freaked out now that I legit got beat up by an ultrasound wand in there  :/

    Questions:

@pinkkillersheep sorry to hear about the damage, but I'm glad you're ok! It's so devastating to see what the tornado did and the lives lost.

@ournextadventure how fun to start feeling the baby kick already!

@KFrob it's great your energy is coming back. And I love your cooking date nights, sounds so fun! I recently tried hello fresh as well (our company sent us a gift card for it) and we really loved it too.

@marionberry19 omg the 4 hour drive sounds brutal. And no shame in not enjoying being pregnant. I loved being pregnant 1st and 2nd time around also. Especially the first time, my skin was glowing, my hair was shiny and silky, I loved it. 2nd time was not as glamorous but I still enjoyed it. This time around is just tough and I'm not having a great time yet. I feel huge, exhausted, my skin is breaking out, my hair is blah...so I feel ya. I'm also glad to see we're not alone in feeling this way. I just want it to be over, have the baby with my safely and focus on myself as this is my last go-around.

@idreamofginny your PA weekend sounds really nice! I'm sure your son loved all the holiday lights.

@shoarmie99 my experience with pregnancy headaches has been pretty bad. It takes 2 days worth of Tylenol to go away. Sometimes a cold towel on the back of the neck helps too.

@bww_0331 I feel the same way with feeling hungry/not eating too much where I feel gross. It's a weird feeling and I end up feeling gross anyway. I'm hoping this gets better with 2nd tri.

@binxybaby I've had phantom kicks post each kid, but it did go away eventually. Last couple of days as I lay down in bed, I keep thinking that I just felt something and then wondering if it was phantom or not.

  • @Tulips29 I am so sorry that your ultrasound experience was so unpleasant. Honestly, I would look into switching doctors if this is the tech that will be performing any future ultrasounds. Ultrasounds should be painless and you definitely shouldn’t have pain days after the fact.
  • @Tulips29 I’m sorry too. You should never have to feel that way.
  • @marionberry19 I wish I could. This is the MFM my OB is associated with, he doesn't work with anyone else. I'm just hoping there will either be a difference tech next time or I can let her know to go easier as I was in pain last time. I get she was trying to do her job, but I wish she sent me for a walk/drink/snack earlier without torturing me since that did the trick pretty quickly.

  • @Tulips29 that sounds awful! Maybe you can explain the situation to your OB and ask to not see that ultrasound tech anymore? You definitely do not deserve to be in pain a week after an ultrasound!
  • @tulips29 That definitely does not sound right. She probably got frustrated and wasn't thinking straight when she was doing it, but still! That is not professional and quite frankly, seems a bit like assault.
    Pregnancy TickerSaveSave
  • Thanks guys, I spoke to the OB and he said it could happen and the way I described it sounds like a muscle bruise and could be due to sensitivity down there. He said it's unfortunate it happened, but also that if there's no bleeding or prolonged pain, it doesn't seem concerning. He also said it's possible this is unrelated to the ultrasound and just happened to coincide with the timing. Overall, he wasn't overly concerned but said to call him if it gets worse, which luckily it hasn't.

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Dec 20th we have NT scan, Dec 29 monthly appt, still waiting on carrier screening... Hopefully this week!

How are you feeling?: eh.. Burned out. I mostly blame work, but I'd say I'm almost back to baseline, just a bit more fatigued in the evening and reallllyyyy not wanting to work after dinner which is usually a part of my routine.

Rants/Raves: Already complained about maternity clothing options elsewhere. Raves - so far a healthy active girl. Excited to finally get some decent images. The dating scan we had at 7w (where we actually got take home pictures) she was still just a little tiny peanut and at my last monthly it was just the low res bedside ultrasound and she was bouncing around so much we couldn't really make out details.

Questions: Does anyone else feel exhausted by the idea of announcing their pregnancy? I'm sure it's my general covid exhaustion, but I still haven't told my best friend (or any of our other friends) and I feel really bad but I just am sooo exhausted by the end of the day when I could call her. She's going to freak when she realizes I kept it secret for so long  :#

  • @hillies22 I have general nerves around announcing a pregnancy. But then I feel relieved getting it out there so I don’t have to hide. We’re going to start telling close friends now. And both mine and hubby’s birthdays are in a few weeks so figured we’ll tell others then when they reach out.

  • @pinkkillersheep Glad y'all are okay but sorry about the truck and cabin.

@furmama2babymama That sounds painful. I hope the next one is not that bad.

@ournextadventure That's exciting. I am hoping to feel movement soon.

@marionberry19 I am not really enjoying this pregnancy but that's because my Mom is gone, so I go to appointments alone since my husband needs to watch DD. I am also not excited this time about choosing names or even bothering with a registry.

@Tulips29 Did your OB, at least, say the tech shouldn't have shaken the wand like that? Regardless of whether it caused the pain you felt afterwards. that kind of treatment is invasive and would make me feel uncomfortable.

How are you feeling?: I think the nausea is subsiding. My OB said again she could give me Zofran but taking a pill is one of the things that sets me off soooo I still said no.

Rants/Raves: Rave- thank goodness for Unisom. Rant/disappointment- I have an appointment with a rheumatologist in January because I think I’ve finally figured out why I’ve had hip pain for four years (spoiler alert, it wasn’t pregnancy and it didn’t go away when I had the baby). However, my OB doesn’t want me doing x-rays while pregnant. So now I’m stuck. I need to call the rheumatologist and see if I can still get a diagnosis but ugh. A little deflated. I just don’t want to hurt anymore.

    Questions: nope
  • @KFrob I watch Wheel of Time too!
  • @KFrob @romeoandjuliet146 we are a Witcher and The Wheel of Time house here. However, my partner has read the entirety of both series so watching with him is not fun because I don’t like that he knows stuff that I don’t haha.
  • @romeoandjuliet146 the OB said it was weird and hopefully it doesn't happen again. I'm putting it behind me and hoping that was the worst of it.
