Major WTF - yesterday was cold and we have a really steep ramp that leads up to our front deck/door - it's really the bane of my existence, because the previous owners installed it and made it like that. Because when it gets cold and frosty, that ramp becomes more like a slip-n-slide. I didn't notice the frost on the ramp, because I just watched the hubster bee-bop on down with no problems. I started down, and I felt my right leg slide out. Both feet went up in the air and I landed hard, and flat on my back. My iced coffee splattered everywhere, my tablet went flying into the grass. I'm sure it had to be a sight to behold - a 6' amazon tumbling like a felled redwood. Not my proudest moment. And boy do I hurt. Luckily I had an OB appointment yesterday, so the doc checked the heartbeat - right at 150, and my cervix, which was still high and closed for business. No bleeding or leaking of anything, so on that front we're good. My small win is that I can move today.
@DarkSerendipity phew that you’re (mostly) okay and baby is 100%! Would those exterior stair grips help at all? Not the most attractive, but could be very practical while pregnant and/or with a newborn.
@DarkSerendipity glad you're ok, sounds like it hurt!! Also agree with @skc040512, fantastic storytelling skills...I could picture this in my head really well 😂
@annashaf We had some of the narrow strips on there, but they came off at some point. The bottom half of the ramp is covered with very grippy roofing shingles, but when it gets really frosty, even they get slick. I don't care about attractive at this point, safety is my number one concern. At some point we're replacing that stupid ramp with steps - so much safer than that ramp.
@pajamstagrams LoL, thank you! That's what I do - I'm a writer, working on my first novels.

Eek! So glad you and baby are okay. That sounds so scary.
@And846 I've had one in college and I never want to experience it again. It was the worst!
Winning: I'm back at my sit/stand desk to easily remedy said numbness!
