Trying to Get Pregnant

TWW Tuesday 12/7

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

Re: TWW Tuesday 12/7

  • Month/Cycle: 4/3 AL

    CD/DPO: 25/11

    Timing: doesn't matter

    Typical LP length: 12ish

Testing: BFN (I know, I know. I lied and tested a day early.)

R/R: I'm not going to say anything about the disappointment of this morning other than to say that I am thankful it was a stark white, clear BFN. Definitely no need to question what I was seeing. Mentally preparing to move on to #4 in a couple days. In positive news, my co-worker is coming in late and bringing me a latte so that's a fun morning treat.

    CS/Q: Nope

  • @abjm0325 Sorry for your disappointing morning! Yay for coffee and ALL the cocktails this holiday season! Keep those spirits bright girl!
  • @abjm0325 I'm so sorry for the BFN. I am in the same situation so I feel you hard.

    Month/Cycle: 5/5AL

    CD/DPO: 23/11

    Timing: O-2

    Typical LP length: 13/14

    Testing: BFN this morning

R/R: I've been MIA because work was busy and we had a bit of a rough/busy weekend. Finally got payroll submitted for this week so it should be smooth moving the rest of the week and then hopefully I can get some Christmas stuff done because I am still super far behind. Just sort of chugging along.

CS/Q: Still a giant mess of a cycle..

  • @abjm0325 I'm sorry about the BFN, but I'm glad for you that it was a definitively negative with none of the playing with your emotions ambiguity.

    Month/Cycle: 14/13

    CD/DPO: 26/5

    Timing: n/a

    Typical LP length: 10-11 days

    Testing: n/a

R/R: in the final stretch of the semester, waffling strongly between "yes I know what I'm doing, this will be fine" and "DEAR GOD I'M SO LOST AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH". Hopefully I'll trend more toward the former after speaking with my professor this afternoon.

Also starting to get a bit nervous in the countdown to CD1 since it'll be my first medicated cycle and we're doing an IUI. I really, really hope it's successful because I have a feeling the letdown if it's not is going to be extra bad.

    CS/Q: n/a

  • @abjm0325 and @tessiesmom26
I am so sorry for your BFNs. It is a blessing that it was a solid negative, but that doesn't lessen the disappointment, I know.

    @fantasyflyte
Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Hopefully the end of the semester gets smoother for you and you can enjoy some well deserved time off.
  • @tessiesmom26 Solidarity on the BFN. Glad your week is looking a little less stressful moving forward!
@fantasyflyte Fingers crossed that the medicated cycle is the jumpstart your body needs! I hear you on the danger of being too optimistic though.
@katrielle Thanks, always nice to be able to share the ups and downs with this community.
  • Month/Cycle: 2/2

CD/DPO: 20 ish? And not sure.

    Timing: EOD to ED

Typical LP length: Unsure. My periods are strange and my ON/GYN isn’t sure when I’m ovulating. Started charting to see if that gives answers.

Testing: plan to test 12/21. I think that’s what this is asking.

R/R: this is my first time posting, so I hope I answered right. I read the new members guidelines beforehand . I find all of this a little overwhelming. I spot a few days before I have a period, which is only a couple days then spot for another few days, so my NP isn’t sure when exactly I’m ovulating. I had my hormones checked during the initial spotting a couple months ago, only abnormality was slightly elevated estrogen and lower end on the anti-mullerian hormone. Pelvic US was pretty normal. I’m throwing my hands in the air and giving it my best go without stressing myself out for six months.

CS/Q: not sure what this means
  • Month/Cycle: 4/3

    CD/DPO: 17/ Guessing 2 or 3

Timing: Random.   3/5 days of estimated window

Typical LP length:  As you can tell, I haven’t done much more than use Ovia and watch CM to estimate fertile window, so I’m not sure.   Will temp/test next cycle.

Testing: If I can make it, Fri the 17th.   I have terrible willpower and sometimes test up to 5 days before AF 🤦‍♀️ Would LOVE to surprise my DH w/ a special gift since our fam Christmas is that evening.    Also, is it bad that I have a grand plan every month for how I would tell DH?  Ha

R/R:  @acj1020  Im with you, I’m not 100% on what this is.  I’m nervous I’m going to mess something up and look like a doofus.  Ha!   So I will just leave this for now and go back to the info post.

    CS/Q:

  • @srl6617
Hope you can give that surprise to your DH. I also already have a pretty detailed plan for how to tell my husband and I can't wait to see his reaction.
  • @acj1020 and @srl6617 Welcome! Always feel free to ask questions if you aren't sure what something means. We're structured and snarky around here, but we're really a lovely group. :) R/R is Rant/Rave and CS/Q is chart stalk (if you temp and chart you can post your chart there)/ questions.
  • *lurking from IVF-land* @acj1020 i think you'll find charting and OPKs a great help in figuring out when you're ovulating. Like @abjm0325 says you can ask Qs here in the dailies; there is also a pinned thread at the top of the board for OPK pics if you're having trouble reading them.
    History
I am doing this on my own. Left ovary and fallopian tube removed due to cyst/necrosis just after birth. Right ovary and tube still purport to function.
Began TTC in Aug '18 @ age 35
5 or 6 (or 7?!) cycles using frozen donor sperm, ICI. All BFN
    Mar-Jun '19 IUIs, all BFN
Began process of referral for RE in spring of '19, blood tests confirm low AMH (.54) but all else is good.
May '19 HSG shows open tube, but ultrasound suggests fibroids
MRI in June '19 confirms two large fibroids, one growing through wall of uterus
In June '19 I move from California to Oregon, disrupting my insurance, referrals, etc. 5 months spent piecing it all back together.
Nov. '19 attempted myomectomy (vaginal approach) failed. 2nd surgery using laparoscopic method in Jan '20 is successful.
April '20 --> June '20, natural IUIs, all BFN.
July? saline ultrasound and bubble test demonstrate open tube
July '20 clomid cycle cancelled for thin lining
Aug-Oct, 3 femara cycles, all BFN
RE referral. While waiting to set up an appointment Nov-Jan,I continue with natural cycles and ICI, using a known donor, BFN...
Jan '21 more bloodwork, AMH is worse (.30), FSH high albeit not catastrophic at 13.2. hysteroscopy all good. "looks cozy!" says the RE.
Feb '21, injectables (menopur, novarel), iui, BFN (doc said the frozen donor sperm sample had the "best numbers she'd ever seen!")
Mar '21, injectables, iui cancelled due to lack of follicles, converted to at home-insem. BFN
May '21, first IVF round cancelled due to cyst.
July '21 IVF: standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 7; 6 days of stims. 8 eggs retrieved, 7 mature, 5 fertilize, 4 made it to blast. 3 are 4AB, 1 is 4BB. PGT-A results all abnormal.
Oct '21 somewhat improved AMH (.51) and significantly improved FSH (8.9). Maybe it's all the pills I swallow.
    Dec -21, standard antagonist. 225menupur/225gonal-f/cetrotide/5000u trigger, AFC 5; 11 days of stims. retrieval yields 5, 4M, 2 reach day-6 blast (4AB & 4BB). 1 low-level mosaic (chr. 3 deletion), 1 complex abnormal.
Feb '22 FET (low-level mosaic): CP.
May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy.
July '22 egg retrieval same protocol: 9 days of stims; AFC 8; 10 retrieved, 8 mature, 4 fertilized and frozen.
Sept '22 ER same protocol: AFC 10; 12 retrieved, 11 mature, 11 fertilized.
From the 3 retrievals, 7 survived to day 5-6 blastocyst, from which I have 2 normal embryos!
Jan 20, Fully medicated FET, baby aspirin, dexamethasone, acupuncture, and as much woo as I can stand (which isn't very much). BFN.
July 23, Natural FET + baby aspirin. BFN.
  • @fantasyflyte My best friend is doing IUI so I just read up on it.   I am crossing my fingers for both of you!!
