This is great @paytonpedro - thanks for getting the ball rolling.
I feel completely rusty on how all this works on the bump. I’m still close with my first bump group, so I’m excited to be back here. It is so helpful having group support from others going through the same experiences at the same time.
Y’all. Tonight is parent teacher conference, in person, for my kindergartener. It’s his first year outside the house at school, and they let mh and I think that we could both go until yesterday evening. I’m PEEVED. I get it covid, whatever, but it would literally be me, mh, and ds’s teacher in a giant room!?! What is the reason we both can’t go? And it’s only 15 minutes or less. I told mh we should both just go. He hasn’t been able to be involved in anything this year but knows I would get more out of it (as the primary chaos coordinator). What do y’all think?
@paytonpedro I’d both go. Easier to ask forgiveness than permission 😆 My daughter had her conference a couple months ago and it was not all that exciting so I wouldn’t worry about him missing it if that happens.
@paytonpedro I'm probably not the best person to respond because both MH and I are goodie goods so we'd follow the rules just complain bitterly about it lol. Honestly, I feel like they should give you the option to both go by wearing masks. If you're in a big old room AND masked, they have zero room to complain. My son's school gave us the option of a virtual parent teacher conference or an in person masked one so haven't had to deal with rules like that.
@darkrose88 I ended up going by myself, we had to be masked. But I told her that he was upset he couldn’t be there and I FaceTimed him in. So he could at least hear what she had to say.
@paytonpedro yea my daughter's school only allowed one parent too, which was ok with me since I didn't want to bring our 3 year old anyways. I definitely see your point though. Huge classroom, masks, only three of us...what's the risk? Oh well. Glad you got to FaceTime him though.
@starkette I had a babysitter all lined up 😫 lol. I was hoping to catch dinner after but we ended up telling mil we didn’t need her so mh stayed home and we ate leftovers. Meh.
@dimeadozen I just feel like it’s never going to end. I get the seriousness of it and respect that but I’m so over it. It’s been especially hard for my 5 year old, not playing with friends or seeing certain family. It’s been hard.
