lurking @acleverusername i am sorry about your husband's scan, i had 3 growths detected on my thyroid in 2016. i'll spoiler the timeline and my scenario, waiting sucks... but i had to wait a little over a month back in 2016. i'm sorry, i know it's stressful, sending you a big hug.
i went back and looked through my timeline of events, i was dealing with a lymes diagnosis and the thyroid nodules were found by accident from a ct scan to check my lymph nodes. that ct scan was done end of july, bloodwork was fine for thyroid levels, but it was found that my thryoid is heterogenous on the ct scan and i was referred to an endo for a sono of my thyroid. i got the u/s on 8/16/16, that's when they clarified 3 nodules (2 over 1cm) and recommended a fine needle biopsy - i vividly remember being extremely frustrated an scared that i could not get an endo appt before 9/19/16. the procedure was much scarier mentally (i mean who wants a needle in their neck?) but they numb you, and it was guided by ultrasound, it was not painful at all. i got my results on 9/24/16 that the biopsy was benign. i go to the endo every year now, get an u/s to make sure they have not changed. i know every situation is different, but my endo was like you could've had these your whole life, and we just caught them randomly on a scan looking at something else. BUT since we know they are there we need to investigate them initially and then monitor them annually. if they grow/change then that becomes a point of concern, and would look at needing a biopsy again.
@acleverusername you’re (edit bc I can’t spell) welcome, i struggle to be an optimistic person when i personally get served with stuff like this, it's always easier to cheer on others. i am hopeful for you guys it's a big ole nothing and he just has to deal with the nuisance of annual endo visits to monitor
Thanks you guys. I'm in the "flat on the couch" phase of things right now with my pyjamas and a glass of tea, trying to stave off a case of the hiccups (dammit) and minor nausea. Pain is not too bad. They retrieved 5 eggs so we'll see how many if any get to blast stage. Fert report tomorrow of course. Thanks @anniemarie887 for sharing your timeframe and experience with thyroid growths. What a pain to have to get them checked up every year but also reassuring, in a way?

Good morning all! I am home from retrevial. A very disappointing 4 eggs were retrieved. (Last scan showed 5 over 10mm on the right and 1on the left) I asked if he wasn't able to drain the cyst and get to the left side as planned and nobody could answer so I messaged the nurse but don't know when I will hear back..
The pain was much more than I had expected but I am home now resting and counting the minutes to the next Tylenol.
@walkawaynee i'm sorry the retrieval was so disappointing but fx you get something good from it. you'll feel better soon! i'm up and moving around today and just a bit sore. drink lots of tea and get the anesthesia meds out of yr system. eat soft food and nap.

Got the fertilization report today: 2 degenerated and 2 were fertilized (and divided). She said they fertilized early and that is a good sign, so please excuse me while I Google all things about early fertilization.
@walkawaynee argh that two degenerated, i'm sorry to hear that. but i'm rooting for the ones that fertilized! i'm so glad you're feeling better, and no, you weren't being dramatic yesterday. the recovery process from retrieval is not a walk in the park. ETA do you know if they used ICSI for the fertilization process? Sounds like maybe not ?

@optimistgardener they were supposed to use ICSI as we have male factor IF as well. I didn't think to ask at the time of the call but I will definitely follow up to confirm.

May '22 egg retrieval, lupron flare protocol. HGH priming for 1 month before stims; md lupron 20/20u daily; menopur 225, follistim 225, 10k trigger after 8 days of stims; AFC 10; 13 retrieved; 10 mature; 8 fertilized. All frozen at 2PN for later thaw, grow, and biopsy.

Got the fertilization report today: 2 degenerated and 2 were fertilized (and divided). She said they fertilized early and that is a good sign, so please excuse me while I Google all things about early fertilization.
