I do not want to go to my partners family’s for thanksgiving 🥴 I love them, they’re lovely people but I feel like such garbage and I’m so tired I really do not feel like partaking in two family dinners.
We had thanksgiving at one of our families yesterday... it looked amazing but tasted awful. I’m sure it was just me but it was very disappointing. Nothing tastes good anymore. Thanksgiving food is usually my favorite. I’m hoping for better results Thursday
@marionberry19 me either! Idek if I want to eat one Thanksgiving dinner, let alone two. And his family’s is way too formal and they make us play games. It’s a little much.
My parents are hosting so it'll be my family + DH's. My mom is a nervous planner and always worried there won't be enough food, she won't have enough time, etc etc etc even though everything always turns out fine and everyone is helping by bringing a dish or two. But her nervous energy stresses me out. I feel responsible for calming her down constantly. It's mentally exhausting sometimes and I love my mom dearly. I just wish I could slip her a Xanax so she can chill the whole day.
Also - worried I won't make it through the evening. The other day we had a small birthday dinner for my uncle and I couldn't keep my eyes open. Legit passed out on the couch at the table at 6 pm. Woke up an hour later confused what time it was, felt like I slept half the night.

We’ve been putting our foot down with what we will go to bc the driving around all over to visit various family and deal with pick up and drop off with SD was too much. This year we decided to do Thanksgiving here for my MIL and FIL since they didn’t have anywhere to go and we’re going to go over my parents on Saturday.
@marionberry19 I know what you mean. We traveled to visit my husband's family and all I wanted to do was rest. Hopefully you won't have to stay too long there.
We're hosting Thanksgiving at our house with about 10 people. My husband's family is super formal, requiring fine china, multiple courses, etc. They are Italian and typically start with a pasta course with a couple of options before the traditional Thanksgiving meal which requires 2 homemade sauces and takes about 5 hours to make. This year, I put my foot down. I'm ok with the china and formal table settings but I'm not spending 5 hours making sauces the day before. Mama's tired already and I still have to cook most of the Thanksgiving dinner for 10 people.
So grateful my pre-pregnancy self told my parents we were going out for Thanksgiving because I'm too burned out to do the whole production this year (like literally a dozen dishes from scratch). That was so smart of me because now I would probably have to take the whole week off to get everything done between the fatigue and brain fog...and still wouldn't enjoy the food enough to make the time and effort investment worth it!
(But you better believe I still sent my partner to get us some Thanksgiving ice cream pies from our local creamery... At least it's grass-fed ice cream?).
It’s just DH and I for Thanksgiving day then we’ll travel to my mom’s over the weekend. Planning to finally share the news with her then. Very much looking forward the our traditional Thanksgiving dinner and optimistic I can stomach it. For tomorrow though…we haven’t actually done any grocery shopping so I don’t know what we’re going to do… Possibly just minimal effort spaghetti lol.
I look really pregnant like about 16-18 weeks so I’m debating on what to wear to thanksgiving we’ve not really “announced” yet but I’m not sure I care - I’ll be 11 weeks i just want to be comfortable and I hate all the circle talk and avoiding certain conversations. Like why are we shopping for minivans when we JUST bought our last SVU when baby #2 was born lol it’s also not as if anyone will be shocked. I fainted at my oldests 4th birthday party in August lol I was out of it when I came to and said “damn fertility meds” in front of everyone ... WHOOPS!
I'm so lucky I have such minimal nausea and everyone I'm having Thanksgiving with already knows I'm pregnant ❤️ so I think it will just be a good time all around, though I'll miss the wine. I'm having 3 Thanksgiving dinners and hosting none of them *wins*
I think I need to gain weight. I haven't gained any all pregnancy, I know you're not really supposed to in first trimester and some people even lose some. I'm worried the baby isn't getting enough nutrients since my appetite is pretty meh most of the time. And not gonna lie a lot of my calories previously were from alcohol so I'm probably going into a bit of a deficit 😅 I suppose the 3 Thanksgiving dinners will help haha.
@huckleberrypie I'm the opposite, I feel like all of my calories are currently coming from drinks! I have no urge to drink water and I've been drinking way to many empty calories. I'm also going to miss my wine tomorrow. I took a wine glass out to wash for my MIL and instantly was craving a glass of white wine, sigh.
I also don't like water much! We've been buying 0 calorie vitamin water and I've been drinking a ton of those! I'm thinking we should buy some orange juice or something too. We have a ton of ginger ale too but I can't stomach it, it's so sugary. And yaaa I crave wine the most when I see someone on TV drinking it 😭 My friends are telling me a glass here or there is fine, but I don't think I'll risk it.
@huckleberrypie there is no science on what amount of alcohol is fine (as it’s an unethical thing to test) so no alcohol is fine. I’m allergic to grapes so I don’t have wine cravings because I can’t drink it haha. But with my first I craved a Bloody Mary so bad, which I normally hate, but I was dying for one. Turns out I just wanted the pickled vegetables they were using as a garnish haha
We got back last night from our busy holiday travels. So glad to have that whirlwind done. We put up more Christmas decs last night, my birthday is tomorrow, and beautiful (unexpected) weather all week. Shaping up to be a great start to December!

Does anyone else’s bump app not have the right week/days most of the time? It’s like there’s a weird lag in updating the banner. Earlier today it showed 10w0d, but I just checked it while writing this post and now it’s correct at 10w3d. Very strange.
@bww_0331 maybe this should go in UO but I HATE elf on the shelf. I told DH that the elf is in the top three reasons why I hate his ex wife lol. She started it there so we were forced to do it too. I don’t have time or energy for it. We forgot to put it out last night. I guess I should dig it out and tell them it came while they were at school, sigh.
We don’t do that damn elf here. Like it’s cute I guess but not enough for me to get into the Christmas spirit this early. I am a Christmas on December 25th sort of person.
