Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Eggplant...?

    FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Blue 💙

Upcoming Appointments: Today with my GP and GTT test on Thursday. OB on the 14th. My phone keeps autocorrecting and to abs...I think it's taunting me with the fact that my abs are obviously vacationing on a beach somewhere sipping cocktails...

How are you feeling?:  Physically the level of sickness is back to first tri horribleness...I just want to lay in bed all day in a cold dark room with no light and no noise. Smells are making me super sick again too and the nausea is borderline unbearable again. Emotionally better since I'm feeling so much movement...but the increased nausea etc has me worried something else might be wrong...which is stressing me out.

Rants/Raves: Just need this nausea to go away. I keep telling myself I'm over half way...just 15 more weeks...I can do this. Also hoping to go through my 0 though 6 month clothing this week to see what I need so I can take advantage of some boxing day sales next month.

Questions: Anyone else getting more stomach aches?

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older? I kind of hope he's in to something I know nothing about so I don't give him any unwanted or *helpful* advice. I do hope he's in to adventuring and exploring though as that is something SO and I did all the time before kids as well as with DD1 and I'd like to be able to get back to that once the world is back to *normal*.
  • @Panaceia
Sorry you’re still sick. :/ I hope today’s appointment brings you comfort. Also side note, but congrats on viability!

Glad to know I’m not the only one that dreams of leaving their child, makes me feel slightly less guilty.
Still, love DS to the moon and back so the idea of leaving him all alone even in a dream breaks my heart… haha
  • @faithmovesmountains I’ve been feeling similar uncertainty about my ability to split my attention adequately when DD2 arrives! I’d love to hear what any TTM+ have to say on this topic!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 4/6 / 21+5

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: as long as a toothbrush 🪥

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: DD2

Upcoming Appointments: 12/13 for midwife appt

How are you feeling?: Not terrible. Managing heartburn and nausea with meds and physical fatigue with support garments. But I for sure have a limit that I hit pretty quickly in terms of physical activity (if you can call simply being out of bed physical activity 🤦‍♀️)

Rants/Raves: Rave: Got my Blanqi order and I’m loving the leggings and tank! Thanks to those who encouraged me to buy!
Rant: Holiday dynamics and pregnancy symptoms. I feel silly about this, but this pregnancy has significantly impacted my ability to do simple day to day things. The HG is under control, but I think I am experiencing the lingering effects of being so sick in the beginning and not really being able to get out of bed much for several months. Even this early, I have to lay down or nap at least once a day in order to get through the day. Otherwise, I end up with exhaustion, a lot of discomfort and/or Braxton Hicks. I am not confident I can participate in the typical family Christmas routine of shlep three hours in the car to spend one or two hours at two different locations. We are offering to host our families at our house instead so I can lay down whenever I need to, but it is turning into such a ‘thing’ to change the ‘tradition’ for a year 🥴

Questions: Any tips for transitioning to sharing your attention as a parent with two children instead of just one?

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older?
I really enjoy performing arts like dance, theater, music, etc. It would be neat to for this baby to enjoy either watching or participating in those things too!

  • @Panaceia I am so sorry you are seeing symptoms get worse again! I have been having more stomach upset lately, but it is a weird mix of nausea, heartburn, sour stomach, stomach discomfort, etc. I asked my midwife about upping my heartburn Med because I know that can contribute to nausea/sour stomach/stomach upset. It has helped somewhat, but I have to stay on top of the timing of the meds. I also have more hours in the day lately when I feel gross no matter if I take my Zofran, eat or don’t eat, take heartburn meds or not, etc. This feels like such a rollercoaster sometimes and I find myself envious of those people who can manage to not feel like garbage most of the time ☹️

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: Dec 23 for sugar test, scheduling c section (prob Mar 7 or 11)

How are you feeling?: pretty good. Uterus must be growing because I’ve had some gnarly RLP.

Rants/Raves: Rave: my phys therapist asst sister used her massage gun on my hip yesterday and I feel like a new human! Rant: just hate being tired all the time.

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older? I’m an avid traveler and love learning about other cultures/history. I’m hoping to instill that same curiosity in the kids. Also hope they love baseball (my fave sport) and soccer (husband’s fave).

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: found out

Upcoming Appointments: OB on Dec 13

How are you feeling?: Ok mostly. My anxiety has been creeping up

Rants/Raves: I am with DS (2) at his allergy food challenge. We just did his 3rd dose. So far so good. I'm still pretty anxious.
I'm definitely gonna run out of data this month lol

Questions: has anyone been told by OB if hemmerhoid creams are safe? I was going to ask OB at last appointment but he was almost 90 min behind, and rushing to get to the hospital for an emergency

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older?
I just hope my kids find a passion. We will expose them to as much as possible, and hopefully they will find something they really enjoy and are excellent at.
  • @Panaceia I hope you start feeling some relief soon. I'm so sorry you are still feeling so ill.

@jenis_fan_for_life I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well lately either. Also, I totally feel you on having to change up the Christmas schedule this year and dealing with family pusback. I hope that everything falls into place with as little stress on you as possible.

    EDD / Weeks + Days: March 24

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: Apparently a grapefruit? A really big one?

    FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Team Blue!

Upcoming Appointments: Dec. 22 OB appointment

How are you feeling?: I have been feeling super sick ever since having to start the iron supplement. They told me it may take some time to acclimate to it, but it's definitely been making me feel nauseated and gross for days now.

Rants/Raves: Rave: We got our first Christmas tree. We always go to my family for Christmas, but this year I was not feeling flying for at least 51/2 hours, so we are staying home. We got some lights and pretty red and gold christmas tree ball ornaments for it last night and we'll decorate it tonight. It's only about four feet tall,  but it's perfect for our little place and the cats haven't tried to climb it so that's a big plus. lol

Rant: I got snow boots (because Montreal gets considerably more snow than the Bay Area did lol), and they gave me such bad blisters on the first day that I wore them that I can't put them on right now at all. I have had to switch back to my tennis shoes for the moment because they won't rub on  my heels. I haven't had blisters this bad in such a long time. I forgot how painful it can be to break in new shoes. :/

Questions: Has anyone else felt concerned at all about post partum depression? I feel a little nervous about it. It's a ways off until my little sunflower seed is born, but I definitely don't want to be unprepared.

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older? My husband and I are both animators, so I'm very much hoping that he will like art and drawing. I will be happy to support him in any of his interests, of course, but that's such a big part of our lives and I do hope we can all share it.
  • @animator_mama I’m sorry you’re feeling anxious about PPD. I struggled with postpartum anxiety and I’m still taking a low dose of Zoloft, which has been a great support for me. I went on Zoloft when my son was about 3 months and I continued to breastfeed, etc. My advice is to read up on the PPD/PPA signs and share them with your partner. After getting comfy with that information, do your best to set it aside. You may not have that particular struggle. And trust that being informed, having your partner be informed, and being honest with your OB in follow up care will provide you with opportunities to get help if and when you need it. ❤️
  • @Panaceia I don’t know how you do it, especially with other little ones.  So glad you have tour eye on the prize and I hope you get some relief soon.

Upcoming Appointments: ECHO and cervical length check tomorrow and another follow up from surgery on the 8th.

How are you feeling?: pretty good despite being on bedrest. I’ve been in a much better emotional state now that we are less than a week from viability. Feeling tons of movement and loving it.

Rants/Raves: Less than a week to viability!  We went to one of those boutique ultrasound places so DS and MIL could see baby girl.  She’s already well over a pound and has chubby cheeks. DS got a stuffed lamb that plays her heartbeat and he snuggles it all the time. It melts my heart.

    Questions:NATM

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older?
Ballet, I wish I stuck with it when I was younger.  I’m sure she’ll find her own interests, but I’ll certainly introduce her to it.
  • @Panaceia I’m sorry you’re still so sick. I can’t imagine still feeling the way I did in first tri. Sending all the hugs and comfort!

Upcoming Appointments: I had one scheduled for Thursday but my doctor just rescheduled it to tomorrow

How are you feeling?: still some nausea in the revenging and heartburn. Occasional acid reflux in the middle of the night. Thankfully none of it is too bad.

Rants/Raves: I just hate that I’m feeling so yucky in the evenings. I really wanted to enjoy this pregnancy but 🤷🏼‍♀️ A rave is that I bought a SNOO and I can’t wait to try it out.

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older?
I don’t have anything in particular, but I do hope he just finds something that gives him joy.
  • @faithmovesmountains you are not alone in those dreams. I had them with DD and with this babe as well. I just chalk it up to anxiety. I have never actually forgotten DD (yet, at least!)

@Panaceia I so hate to hear that you're feeling bad again (still...). I am impressed at your patience with the process while parenting 2 kids already.

@jenis_fan_for_life I'm sorry your family isn't being accommodating about the holidays. My dad and MIL are like that about "traditions" and it drives me bonkers. I understand the sentiment, but when it's clearly not in the best interest of the participants- just ugh.

@rachelredhead i have a chair massager that i use sometimes and always get overzealous and makes me sore for the next day lol

@goldfishcraker oh man that allergy challenge must be so nerve wracking. Thinking of you!

@animator_mama I definitely have concerns about ppd/ppa. One thing that has helped me is talking to DH about it and what to look for. Makes me feel confident that he will be able to spot the signs and help me get help if need be.

@Nik102 yes! Viability is a small sigh of relief! Glad you're feeling that movement :)

    EDD / Weeks + Days: 3/20 24+1

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: the other day was "almost as big as a waffle iron"..... wtf does that even mean?

    FTM/STM/TTM+: stm

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: green

Upcoming Appointments: wednesday for OB check, Dec 28 follow up US for placenta check.

How are you feeling?: ok, lots of movement today so that is fun. Heartburn ramping up a little and restless legs are consistent nightly, but in general, i'm fine.

Rants/Raves: rant: DD is still sick-ish. We had to come home from the in-laws early because she was fevered and not sleeping. It was a miserable couple of days and i was sooo stressed. She perked up over the weekend, and hasn't had a fever since Friday night. Went to the dr again on saturday and everything they tested came back negative. I feel terrible for her being so miserable. I sent her to daycare today, and am just hoping she doesn't get too exhausted and spikes a fever again. Rant #2: work is totally wild today. Idk if it's the amount of catch up i have to do for legit taking the weekend off, but i am not a fan lol. Rave: We got our christmas decorations up yesterday and it's so cozy! I love it.

    Questions: .... nope.

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older? Hiking/kayaking/general outdoorsy-ness. DH and I both love to be outside and hope to pass that on to our kiddos.
  • @faithmovesmountains I’m sorry about the anxiety producing dreams! I always have a fear I’m gonna drop DS1. And had a dream I dropped DS2 the other day (I also have this fear about dropping newborns at work too) I have yet to ever even come close and while I’m holding them the thought seems silly. Hate that our minds do this to us!

@rachelredhead I so want a massage gun 😂 my best friend just bought one and said it was life changing. Today I have a pulled hamstring or something. And almost wish I bought a Black Friday deal one.

@appleblossom8317 solidarity for feeling crummy in the evenings! It’s the worst!!

    EDD / Weeks + Days: March 31.  22.4 today

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: as tall as mr potato head

    FTM/STM/TTM+: STM

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Baby boy!

Upcoming Appointments: dec 13 for regular 24w appt

How are you feeling?: exhausted. Afternoons and evenings still feel that mix stomach uncomfortableness. Heartburn. Overly full. Etc.

Rants/Raves: ranting on myself for how much money I spent this weekend 😂 hard not to when preparing for Christmas and a new baby (and tbh I bought myself a handful of things too 🤣)

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older?
im hoping both our kiddos will really enjoy hiking and camping like we do! I had just bought a hiking carrier for DS1 a couple weeks before learning I was pregnant. Then felt too much like garbage the rest of the good hiking season. So that was a major bummer. And we only got one camping trip out of this past summer as well. Also a big bummer!
  • @jenis_fan_for_life I was legit dreading the transition from 1 to 2 because DD1 very adamantly did NOT want a sibling and LOVED being an only. Plus she was already 5.5 years old and was used to allllll of our attention. I made sure to let her pick out some toys and clothes for baby before she arrived. I was on medical leave the last 2 months so I pulled DD1 out of school and we did all the things we normally did during summer that I knew we wouldn't get a chance to do once baby arrived (June baby). Once baby arrived I just made sure that I put DD1 first. Babies are easy because you can sort of just take them anywhere whether they like it or not...so I made sure to take DD1 to alllll her activities, to the park after school every day, took the time to make sure to do everything with her I always did. I even volunteered to coach her basketball team. And DD2 just sort of tagged along everywhere. I also left gifts for her for when I was in the hospital. I let her hold baby as soon as we got home from the hospital. And I made sure never to ask her to do things or get things for the baby...only if she volunteered on her own. Then COVID hit so we were stuck at home together anyways. But the girls ADORE eachother and are eachother's best friend. I still make sure to read to DD1 one on one,  and do things with her that I don't do with DD2. It is hard to give equal time to both now that DD2 is older and constantly doing dangerous stuff, but I know that will pass soon. I'll try to do the same this time around. Put the girls first and try to find individual time with each of them whenever possible.
  • @goldfishcraker How did the rest of the testing go with DS?

@animator_mama I had postpartum anxiety after my first that lasted until she stopped nursing...so 3.5 years...I echo what others said...just be honest with your H and your doctor about how you're feeling and be aware of the signs and what to look for. I didn't have it with DD2 and I'm really hoping it doesn't come back this time, but don't be afraid to talk to your doctor about it ahead of time, like now, as just having that conversation might start to make you feel a bit better about everything.

@appleblossom8317 Let me know how you like the snoo! I almost bought one with DD2 and now I kind of wish I had!

@morgantu Sorry the little still isn't feeling well but lol at the waffle iron! The people who write these things must do their best to mess with us on purpose 🤣

Thanks for all the sympathy and comiseration! My GP told me to try meal replacement shakes for a day or so and see if maybe not eating as much solid food might help with the nausea...so picking up some Ensure today to see if that will help/stay down.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: March 14/ 25w

Baby is the size of a(n) / interesting fact: as long as a size 6 women’s shoe? That doesn’t seem right…

    FTM/STM/TTM+: It’s complicated

    Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Pink

Upcoming Appointments: Dec 13 for glucose screen

    How are you feeling?: physically-
I’ve had massive pelvic girdle pain since Thanksgiving, which is making it harder to do simple stuff around the house, which is so frustrating to me. Belly band helps a little, so I am living in it at this point. Emotionally- Anxiety has been high the last couple of days. I know it’s still early for consistency with her movement, but it drives me nuts to feel her so strongly and constantly one day, and then little and light the next. Yesterday I’m pretty sure she was snuggled up near my tailbone. Anterior placenta and some extra weight around the middle don’t help matters.

Rants/Raves: It was fantastic having DH home all last week.

    Questions: natm

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older?
I hope both of my kids get my love for reading. Would love if she also likes crafty things like crochet or cross stitch. My DS is super physically active and I’m not sure he’s ever going to sit still long enough for me to teach him those things. Hoping she’s at least a little more on the chill side haha.
  • @achanceintime Neither of my girls sit still:/ I love puzzles and reading and both SO and I are trained artists so I just assumed they would like some of those things too...DD1 is just getting in to art now,  but the girls literally never sit still. Ever. I can't even watch a movie with either of them because they have 5 million other things they would rather be doing. I have this secret hope that this little boy will be the super chill studious one...but I have a feeling I'm just destined to be the mom of 3 perpetual motion machines!
  • @faithmovesmountains pregnancy dreams are a trip, sorry you’re dealing with them too. Sometimes mine are so vivid that whatever emotion I’m experiencing in the dream lingers long after I’ve woken, and that can be hard!
@Panaceia i hate to hear that you’re feeling so poorly. I haven’t had stomachaches, just intermittently constipated.
@goldfishcraker hope the rest of DS allergy testing went smoothly!

  • @Nik102 hoping your appointment goes well tomorrow!!

  • @faithmovesmountains add me to similar dreams but reverse, baby being forgotten 😔

@Panaceia ugh hate that you’re still so sick 😔

@jenis_fan_for_life good for you, no need for you to torture yourself this Christmas! I’m sure people will be happy to change it up too

@rachelredhead ohhhh that’s so nice, I’d be making her do that weekly

@goldfishcraker good luck to DS, hopefully it’s nothing 🤞🏼

@animator_mama I was concerned as a first time mom so I was encapsulating my placenta, but DS ended up pooping before and I had meconium when my waters broke. I didn’t have post partum depression, but definitely some post partum rage

    @nik102 yay for viability!

    @appleblossom8317 jealous of the snoo!

@morgantu 😂 I’d love to meet the people who make these comparisons up

@nursejenn5 tis the season to spend money 😂

How are you feeling?: my whole family is sick 😑

Rants/Raves: DS being sick means his antibodies reject his insulin so his T1D has been a nightmare this weekend. I feel like I’m a walking zombie who might pass out at any moment

  • @gembud I'm so sorry you guys are all sick! I hope A gets through it quickly. I can't imagine. Sending all positive thoughts and so much love your way ❤
  • @panaceia I'm so sorry that you are back to first-tri sickness! Sending you strength to power through this!
@jenis_fan_for_life I also ordered from Blanqi last week, so hoping my order comes soon! Glad you are happy with your order!

How are you feeling?: Good. Feeling large. I am feeling consistent movement with Twin A. Twin B, not so much. I can feel him move, but he's just not much of a kicker!

Rants/Raves: Scored a free infant car seat that we needed, so just need to get one more!

    Questions: none

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older? I would love if one of these babies is into playing a musical instrument! I played some piano growing up, and would love if one of my sons and I could play a piece together. I also hope one of them are into sports, since I'm definitely not!
  • @faithmovesmountains my reoccurring nightmares always involve me losing DS or leaving him with someone who loses him. It’s terrible. Also having anxiety about the transition from 1 to 2 to give attention to.
@Panaceia how did the meal replacement shakes do for you? Hope you find something soon that’ll stay down❤️
@jenis_fan_for_life we are also hosting all holidays this year. Not even going to pretend I’d be able to endure traveling and spending time at other people’s houses.
@rachelredhead the massage gun massage sounds like a dreammmmm. Also huge baseball fans over here. (Go braves ❤️💙)
@goldfishcraker hope the rest of DS allergy challenge went well!
@animator_mama struggles horribly with PPD and PP OCD after my first. Have definitely made adjustments and plans to better prepare this time. Im not sure there is a way to know whether or not it’ll be something you struggle with but the best thing you could do would be to get help sooner rather than later. That is my only regret.
@Nik102 glad you are feeling well. Hope the appts go well!
@appleblossom8317 also battling acid reflux and nausea in the evenings. Every day. Despite what I eat and when. Have been munching on lots of Tums.
@morgantu yay for all the movement but double boo for a crazy work day and reoccurring illness.
@nursejenn5 yay for a little shopping spree
@achanceintime my son is also nonstop, rambunctious, full of energy 100% of the time. Totally get it.
@gembud thinking of you guys. That sounds completely miserable. Hope things improve quickly

also weight gain… I’ve never eaten so much in my life but I’ve only gained 5 lbs everything I read says 12-15 by now. Anybody else not gaining weight?

GTKY: What is one sport/activity/hobby that you hope this baby enjoys when they get a bit older?
any sport is good by me! My husband and I were both  university  athletes so I hope our kids will enjoy any sport like we did!
  • @wildwood8 Definitely do not need a feeding pillow. A friend gave me one with my first but I never used it with either of my kids...so definitely not a need. Also no need to worry about the weight. I was underweight to start with my first and had actually lost 5 lbs by about 22 weeks (I was just looking back at my old pregnancy logs). I ended up gaining everything I needed in 3rd tri...total gain was 24lbs. If you're eating and staying hydrated then you're doctor likely won't be worried unless you are losing weight consistently at this point:)
  • @wildwood8 haha I think a pregnancy pillow is a "nice to have" not an absolute must. I did like mine (got the regular boppy pillow) and used it a lot with DD.
As far as weight gain, @Panaceia has it right on. I ask my providers not to discuss my weight in appointments unless they're concerned but one did mention yesterday that this appt i "finally gained some weight". But she wasn't worried at all. If baby is doing ok and you're feeling good, that's the most important.
